Meanwhile, in the northern Rukongai, District 80.

After determining the extent of his spiritual pressure, Shigure immediately reined it in.

The system's reward hadn't merely granted him this extraordinary spiritual power and pressure—it had simultaneously bestowed upon him perfect mastery and control.

With practiced ease, he compressed his spiritual presence to an almost imperceptible level and prepared for his return to Seireitei.

The journey back proved uneventful. Shigure needed only to release the slightest hint of spiritual pressure to render any would-be aggressors immobile.

As he crossed into District 65's territory, the system's notification chimed in his mind once more.

"Ding, new check-in mission available!"

"No time limit. Please proceed to Shin'o Academy to check in and receive your system reward!"

Shigure's eyes brightened instantly at the announcement.

Check in at Shin'o Academy?

This aligned perfectly with his next objective. Even without the system's prompt, he would have headed there anyway.

Currently, he possessed immense spiritual pressure but little else. While powerful spiritual pressure offered numerous advantages, relying solely on it against truly formidable opponents would lead to a swift and brutal demise.

He needed to master proper combat techniques, and Shin'o Academy—officially known as the Soul Reaper Academy—was Soul Society's premier institution for training Soul Reapers.

Founded approximately two thousand years ago by Captain-Commander Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto of the First Division, the academy shouldered the responsibility of cultivating future members for the Kido Corps, Stealth Force, and Gotei 13. Its curriculum spanned from the four fundamental Soul Reaper combat skills—Zanjutsu, Hakuda, Hoho, and Kido—to practical field training such as performing Konso in the World of the Living.

For Shigure to truly grow stronger, this institution was unavoidable. Moreover, it conveniently served as the system's second check-in location.

If the first check-in had yielded such generous rewards, he could hardly contain his anticipation for what awaited him at Shin'o Academy.

...

While Shigure made his way back, the advance reconnaissance team from Seireitei approached District 80.

To expedite their arrival, they condensed spiritual particles beneath their feet, gliding swiftly through the air. The overwhelming spiritual pressure traces ahead were so intense that they unconsciously overlooked the fainter spiritual signatures below—including that of Segawa Shigure walking directly beneath them.

Upon reaching their destination, before even touching ground, Gin Ichimaru remarked:

"My, my... even the residual spiritual pressure is terrifying..."

With this location as the epicenter, almost no trace of other souls remained within a one-mile radius.

Shunsui Kyoraku surveyed the devastated surroundings, his eyebrow arching in surprise. He detected no residual energy from Zanpakuto or Kido techniques.

"So... mere spiritual pressure release caused such devastating destruction?" Kyoraku murmured, his gaze flickering beneath the shadow of his straw hat.

...

Shigure returned to Seireitei's gates, once again gaining entry with his noble family's identification tag.

His first stop was home—his current attire lay in tatters and needed replacement. After changing into the traditional Segawa family garments, he slipped out through the back entrance.

Today's timing proved fortuitous; it happened to be the final day of Shin'o Academy's spring enrollment period. The academy stood in the northwestern section of Seireitei, not far from the Segawa family estate.

As Shigure strolled through Seireitei's streets toward his destination, he noticed his perception of spiritual particles had sharpened considerably. He could precisely detect subtle variations in spiritual particle density throughout the streets—which areas held higher concentrations and which lower.

Predictably, the concentration intensified as he approached Shin'o Academy.

The enrollment gates of Shin'o Academy remained perpetually open. Even those from Rukongai could apply; passing the entrance examination was the only requirement for admission.

The faculty comprised members from the Gotei 13, Stealth Force, and Kido Corps, each teaching courses aligned with their expertise. They instructed students in the "Four Soul Reaper Combat Skills":

Zanjutsu—the art of swordsmanship. Hakuda—hand-to-hand combat techniques. Hoho—flash step movement. Kido—demon arts and spellcasting.

Graduation typically required six years, with students needing to either excel in one discipline or achieve competency across all four areas.

Of course, this timeline applied only to ordinary students. Prodigies like Gin Ichimaru required just one year before joining the Gotei 13.

After navigating several winding paths, Shigure arrived at the registration desk. The Soul Reaper attendant, recognizing his lower nobility attire, recorded his name and age without extensive questioning before directing him to the examination area.
