Ether. the most fundamental particle required for everything in daily lives from an electric bulb to launching a missile. All humans depend on it now but it wasn't the case millennia ago.
More than a thousand years ago, no one used to know how to use ether which was practically existed in the atmosphere except for a few humans.
These humans at that time absorbed ether particles from the atmosphere and used it to protect the human race in the form of spells from other races who treat humans as a virus which grew quickly day by day in a population and are a necessity to remove to maintain the peace in all five continents.
These special humans are called Sorcerers who were like gods amongst commoners as they kept peace in the land while fighting against demons, other races for many centuries.
Then, slowly with the establishment of kingdoms, other occupations like Knights, Archers, Swordsmen etc begin to rise but being a sorcerer was still being considered an honour.
Due to many genius sorcerers married into royal families, they became arrogant and begin to commit crimes.
Since they have power, commoners didn't dare to voice it out and suffered in silence as they can't go against their king and their protectors. This period is later known as the dark age.
Then, to keep sorcerers and the royal families of different kingdoms in check, Head of Riversun family proposed Guild system so that they can recruit and train commoners to protect their land.
As he thought, his idea became a revolution and just within a few years, Four Guilds rose very high in almost all kingdoms that made several kings trembled in fear. within just two decades, Guilds forced several kingdoms to merge and forced sorcerers to wage war against them.
For the first time in millennia, humanity saw the power of sorcerers after living in peace for several centuries.
with several millions of casualties, the four guilds with the help of all the royal families army who turned their back against sorcerers defeated them and established the empire of Avalon.
The first emperor had pardoned sorcerers by not killing them and set them free as they were once the protectors of the human race.
But with the insistence of the guilds, they were banished from the mainland and forced to live in the Eflea Island which is almost on the edge of the empire. as the loser of the war, they don't have much choice but to accept the punishment and they swear in their hearts that the Guilds will pay for it one day.
After a millennium, people forgot about the existence of the sorcerers. why? because three centuries ago, a researcher discovered that ether can be used by commoners through certain tools if they aptitude. and with that those who can absorb ether now are no longer treated as freaks anymore.
Those who have an aptitude of magic previously can only become a sorcerer even if they have way too less. but now they have the choice of other occupations as many magic weapons being developed.
two centuries later in the Elfea island, there is fire, arrows, blood and corpses of all ages were spread over everywhere. "you ruthless beasts, you didn't even spare little kids and old women".
an ice magic arrow hit his chest and made a hole out of his body and he fell on the ground and became a corpse. one guy who wore a black robe and a hoodie with star badge on his chest lowered his bow "hmpf, trash. I wonder why I Rhilein Ravendew was even deployed to kill these weaklings. Leader sure worries a lot for nothing. but seriously did our history books exaggerated them too much? or they just became trash after living here for so long?"
Then, he picked up bow again and aimed at the distance building which seemed to have a defensive shield spell upon it. "hmm, seems like there are many people out there" he grinned and his bow glowed brightly for while, he pulled the string an arrow made of fire but there are lightning sparks upon it slowly formed and he released the arrow.
four sorcerers who were busy in strengthing the shield panicked upon seeing it as it split into four arrows and they don't have the means to protect themselves.
just then, an ice wall rose up from the ground and nullified the attack. Rhilein jumped down and looked at the new figure who stood before him. He smiled coldly "at last, Siliveth Skyrun made his appearance".
At the same time, at the royal palace hidden library, a boy of around 15-16 years old who was in an unconscious state placed on a table. beside him, an old man spoke slowly "your Majesty, are you sure you want to do this?"
a woman who's stroking the hair of the boy replied "Siliveth can't stop him for long. it's the only way. please help me do this. I know how you feel. while everyone out there fighting and dying, you can't even leave the library. you probably want to die when they invade the palace now".
