Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Prologue

[Welcome to the Type-Moon System!]

[We offer our most sincere blessings to you as the user.]

[As a beginner, you will receive a head start: a one-time free pull gacha with a guaranteed 5-star item.]

[You will also receive beginner perks, ensuring you pull at least a three-star item until your beginner period ends. Furthermore, you'll be receiving a dimensional storage to store your items.]

[You'll also be given a special transmigration privilege, allowing you to experience what it feels like to be the protagonist.]

[So, what do you think? Do you want to join?]

A boy sitting in front of his computer felt the urge to say yes and click "Confirm."

At that moment, his consciousness paused, and a black hole appeared in front of him, swallowing him completely.

Suddenly, the time seemed frozen, and a dark hole suddenly appeared, pulling him in completely.

The computer screen remained bright in the dimly lit room, displaying a creepy message indicating it had just tricked someone big time.

[Thanks for joining.]

...

[Hello everyone, my name is Bell Cranel, but most people who know me just call me Bell.]

[As you probably know, I'm someone who traveled to another world, but it wasn't because I was hit by a truck-kun. Instead, it was because some system dragged me into this world.]

[Surely, nobody can read english words in this world, right? To be sure, I will probably keep this diary in my storage later]

A fourteen-year-old boy with white hair and red eyes was writing in his diary on the second day after arriving in this new world.

This is the only way to cope with his emotions, as this magical world is just too much for him to handle

Writing a diary was the best solution.

The house hadn't much furniture, just two beds, a table with chairs, and a fireplace.

Bell sat beside the warm fire.

[The valuable free first draw was destined to be a five-star. I had hoped to summon a heroic spirit, but it turned out to be a Noble Phantasm instead. Luckily, it's a five-star Noble Phantasm that's super handy for my current situation and already maxed out. Heh, I guess this is the greatest benefit the system has given me so far.]

As he wrote, Bell couldn't help but feel a bit thoughtful.

[Personal Training: The user can gain a lot of experience by fighting.]

[Yeah, this must be meant to replace "Liaris Freese" so that I can still awaken early-growth skills even without it. I should be able to grow quickly even without joining a Familia.]

By the time he wrote this, Bell's bright red eyes showed nothing but frustration and annoyance.

[Gacha is the biggest headache for me right now. I'm still a beginner right now, and when I pull gacha, I can only get up to three stars, and they're all basic stuff.]

[It means that for now, I should be able to draw gacha and only get one or two-star items. Fortunately, as long as I have enough Valis, I can quickly become stronger by spending on the gacha.]

[It costs 1,000 Valis per draw, and that's with a discount because of the restrictions. After the restrictions are lifted, it will cost 10,000 Valis for one draw, which is a big difference.]

[This is why becoming an adventurer is my only option.]

Afterward, Bell put down his pen and carefully stored the notebook inside the storage given by the system.

That way, even if he wrote his true feelings, no one would ever see them.

The fire in the fireplace made Bell's face glow red. He rubbed his hands together and put them in front of the fire.

The room wasn't very warm, and he couldn't stay in the cabin for long without the fireplace.

'Next, I'm going to Orario.'

However, Bell still felt a little worried inside.

'I hope this is the right choice. It's time to sleep, I'll have to leave early tomorrow.'

With a mix of anticipation and anxiety, Bell soon drifted off to sleep.

Even though it was just a simple, rough blanket, it felt really comfortable, and it was the only time his mind could relax and not think about anything.

They say people with no worries sleep well, and Bell wasn't sure if he was one of those people, but he'd been sleeping really well for the last couple of days.

He slept soundly through the entire night, and when Bell woke up, he felt remarkably good, even better than usual.

"My energy is all back, and I feel really good."

Bell got up and went to the window of the wooden house.

Even though the wind was still howling outside, the weather today was really nice. Actually, the weather had been good for the past few days.

Since it hadn't rained recently, the ground was dry, and Bell thought that walking through the forest for dozens of kilometers would be a lot easier now since the ground wasn't all muddy.

Knowing that today was the best day to leave, Bell quickly packed all the important things into the storage the system gave him.

The fact that he didn't have to carry extra weight made his journey easier and gave him more freedom to move.

Early in the morning, Bell had already prepared everything and was ready to head out.

He wore a thick sweater because it was still really cold in the forest in the early morning.

After making sure he was fully prepared, Bell took one last look at the wooden cabin.

"I probably won't be back for a while. I just hope I'll have the chance to return someday."

"Goodbye."

Once a man makes a decision, he shouldn't look back and second-guess himself because doubt would only make him question his judgment and waste time rethinking everything.

In the end, Bell didn't look back.

In the far distance, the Babel Tower stood tall, and that was his goal.

There was no need to think about anything else for now, and all he had to do was keep moving forward with determination.

The only problem with this road to the "big city" was the lack of proper transportation.

He would have to walk the entire way. If there were cars, it would be much easier.

The distance of several dozen kilometers would probably feel like nothing, just a quick nap in the backseat.

"This is the downside of living in a small village. Not even a single horse to be found."

"If I had a horse, it would take less than half a day to get through the forest. But now, I'm walking on foot and don't even know how long it will take to get through."

However, no matter what, camping in the forest at night would be suicidal. He had to make it through the forest today and find a safe place to set up camp.
