Chapter 3 - 3. The Man With White And Red Hair

The baboon charged straight at Rose, its right arm extended in a powerful strike. Rose slid across the ground, dodging the attack with agility by sliding between the baboon's legs, using the momentum to carry her behind the creature. As she emerged behind the baboon, she swiftly slashed at its flesh with her swords, but the blades barely scratched the surface, unable to cut deep into the baboon's tough skin. The baboon quickly turned around to face Rose, its eyes blazing with fury but Rose seized the opportunity, swiftly stabbing the baboon from behind and remained safely out of its reach. The baboon roared in pain as Rose's swords sank deeper into its flesh.

With the baboon momentarily distracted by the pain, Rose began to climb onto the baboon's back while continuing to slash at its flesh with her swords. The baboon roared in pain as it felt the damage, its skin torn and bleeding. In an attempt to shake Rose off, it jumped high into the air, aiming to land on its back and crush her. But Rose was quick, jumping off the baboon's back just in time. The baboon landed with a thunderous impact, sending a massive shockwave through the ground. The earth shook, and debris scattered everywhere as the sound of the baboon's landing echoed through the air.

Rose landed gracefully, but before she could regain her footing, the baboon sprang back into action. With lightning-fast speed, the baboon caught Rose. Rose struggled to break free, but the baboon's grip was unyielding. With a fierce roar, the baboon hurled Rose down into the ground with all its might. Rose crashed into the pavement, her body slamming into the hard surface with incredible force. The impact was brutal, sending cracks through the ground and shattering nearby windows. Rose's scream was cut short as her head hit the pavement, blood gushing out from her scalp.

The remaining agents of Squad 6 watched in horror, shouting "No! Lady Rose!" in unison. The baboon turned its attention to the agents, its eyes blazing with fury. But Rose slowly stood up, spitting blood from her mouth. Despite her injuries, her determination remained unwavering. "And just where do you think you're going, you monkey?" she growled, her eyes locked on the baboon.

Just then, 10 black cars arrived at the scene, SSD individuals emerging to cordon off the area from spectators. From the lead car, SSD Director Yamato stepped out, his expression stern and focused. The baboon, sensing a new target, charged straight at Director Yamato. The SSD agents readied themselves, forming a protective barrier between the baboon and their director. Rose, despite her injuries, stood tall, her eyes fixed on the baboon. The scene was set for a final confrontation.

As the baboon was near SSD Director Yamato, the director quickly opened the passenger door behind the driver's door. Sensing the danger ahead, the baboon suddenly stopped its charge and began to slowly back away.

A young man emerged from the car, his appearance striking. He stood tall, with a mix of red and white hair that seemed to shimmer in the light. He wore black pants, complemented by a black t-shirt with skull designs and a bold red jersey with "SQUAD 0" emblazoned on the back.

The man locked eyes with the baboon, his gaze intense and unnerving. "Now, monkey," he said, his voice calm and collected, "why don't you come here so that I can kill you painlessly and quickly?" As he spoke, he stared at the baboon with an unblinking gaze, his eyes burning with a fierce intensity. His stare seemed to bore into the baboon's very soul, exuding an aura of confidence and deadly precision.

The baboon, sensing danger and feeling a creeping sense of fear, suddenly turned away from the man. It began to run in Rose's direction, its massive body propelling itself with a newfound urgency. The man's intense stare had clearly unnerved the Rift Walker, and it seemed determined to escape the perceived threat.

Rose struggled to grip her sword, but her body betrayed her. The damage from the previous attack had taken its toll, and the blood loss was weakening her. She could only stand there, her vision blurring slightly.

The baboon loomed over her, its massive hand extended, aiming to send her flying out of its way. Rose thought, "Is this the end?" A defiant grin spread across her face. "No, I refuse to die like this. I still don't even have a boyfriend yet; I won't die yet." Summoning her last ounce of strength, she finally gripped her swords, but it was too late.

The baboon's hand was inches from Rose's face when a blur appeared beside the baboon. Before Rose could process what was happening, the man with the striking white and red hair reappeared behind her. He swiftly scooped her into his arms and leapt into the air, dodging the baboon's attack by mere inches. The baboon's hand closed on empty air.

As they soared through the air, the man spun around, his eyes locked on the baboon. With a fierce determination, he charged at the baboon, launching a powerful kick. His leg seemed to be engulfed in flames, moving with such speed and force that it appeared almost supernatural.

The kick connected with a loud impact, striking the baboon's horn and shattering it. The force of the kick continued through, slamming into the baboon's face with devastating effect. The baboon's head jerked back, its body stumbling from the sheer power of the attack.

The baboon's massive body crashed into the ground, its impact creating a shockwave that sent tremors through the earth. The ground seemed to shudder and tremble as the baboon's body dug deep into the pavement, creating a crater-like depression. The sound of its impact was like thunder, echoing through the air.

In stark contrast, the man landed softly on the ground, still holding Rose in his arms. He gently placed her in the care of the SSD personnel, who rushed to attend to her and the other injured agents. "Take her to the SSD hospital, and get the other injured people treated as well," he instructed.

With a nod, the SSD agents carefully lifted Rose and the others, rushing them away to receive medical attention. The man watched them go before turning to enter the car he had arrived in. Director Yamato joined him, and with a quiet efficiency, they drove away from the scene.

The remaining members of Squad 6 stood in stunned silence, their eyes fixed on the departing car. As it vanished into the distance, they began to whisper among themselves.

"Man, did you see that?" one of them breathed. "That's what I call strong, right there. Damn, so that's Squad 0 for you."

The other agent chuckled. "You know, funny thing... I don't think SSD has a Squad 0. Since the strongest squad is Squad 1..."

Their voices trailed off as they exchanged skeptical glances. The mystery surrounding the man and his squad deepened, leaving the Squad 6 members wondering if they had just witnessed something extraordinary – or something that didn't quite exist.

"Wait, do you think he may be the commander of Squad 1?" one of them asked, still trying to process what they had seen.

"I don't know, but one thing's for sure – that guy is not someone you want to mess with," another agent replied, shaking his head in awe.

As they continued to discuss the encounter, their voices grew softer, their faces still etched with a mix of confusion and admiration. The scene faded into the distance, leaving behind a lingering sense of wonder and curiosity about the enigmatic man and his true identity.
