Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Mage Within

Haru sat in the cave.

His hands still shook.

His chest felt warm.

The magic circle on his palm slowly faded. But something inside had changed. He could feel it.

His heart beat strong.

His mind felt full.

Then, it happened again.

The light.

Bright and warm.

His eyes closed on their own.

And suddenly—

He was no longer in the cave.

He stood in a wide sky. No ground. No ceiling. Just stars.

Floating.

Alone.

But then, he saw someone.

A figure.

It looked like… him.

But older.

Stronger.

His hair was longer. His clothes were black and gold robes. His eyes glowed like silver light.

Around his body, white flames danced. They did not burn—they felt calm and powerful.

Above him floated ten huge magic circles. Each one was a different color.

Red for fire.

Blue for water.

Green for wind.

Brown for earth.

White for light.

Black for shadow.

Silver for lightning.

Gold for healing.

Purple for space.

And clear for mind.

Haru watched, amazed.

The older him raised one hand.

The ten circles spun slowly.

Then fast.

Magic exploded around him. Beautiful. Bright. Unstoppable.

He controlled everything.

No one could touch him.

No one could beat him.

He was the strongest mage in the world.

Then… the older Haru turned.

He looked straight at him.

At the younger Haru.

He smiled.

And spoke.

"You are me. I am you. We are one soul."

"You forgot. But the power is still there."

"Train your body. Grow your mind. Remember the magic."

"The world will need us again."

The vision faded.

The stars disappeared.

Haru gasped and opened his eyes.

He was back in the cave.

Sweat ran down his face.

His heart pounded.

But his fear was gone.

Now, he understood.

He was not weak.

He was not normal.

He was a mage.

A Ten-Circle Mage.

Haru sat with his back against the cave wall.

His hands were on his knees.

He breathed slowly, but his heart beat fast.

His head felt strange.

Not painful—just full.

Full of memories.

And then, more visions came.

Like dreams, but clear.

Like they were real.

---

He saw a large sky.

Dark clouds filled the air.

A huge dragon flew through the storm.

Its wings were wide like mountains.

It opened its mouth—

ROAR!

Fire covered the land.

People screamed and ran.

But then—

He saw himself again.

Older.

Stronger.

Floating in the air.

His hands glowed with white flames.

He raised one finger.

A giant spear of light fell from the sky.

BOOM!

The dragon fell with a loud cry.

The land was saved.

---

Another memory came.

He stood on a battlefield.

All around him were bodies.

Armies were running away.

A man in dark robes laughed.

A warlock.

He had a hundred shadow beasts behind him.

He shouted spells.

Black fire flew toward Haru.

But Haru stood still.

His eyes closed.

Ten magic circles spun above his head.

He opened his eyes—

And waved his hand.

The fire turned into flowers.

The beasts turned into birds.

The warlock dropped to his knees.

Crying.

Surrendering.

---

Another flash.

A golden sky.

He walked into a temple made of light.

At the end was a throne.

On it sat a god.

Tall. Bright. Strong.

"You dare face me?" the god asked.

Haru smiled.

He held out his hand.

Magic formed into a sword made of light and flame.

"I do."

They fought.

The sky shook.

The earth cracked.

But in the end, Haru stood tall.

The god fell.

Even gods could not beat him.

---

The visions stopped.

Haru opened his eyes.

His body was still in the cave.

But now he felt different.

More sure.

More alive.

He looked at his hand.

He could feel the magic inside.

The same magic that once defeated dragons, warlocks, and gods.

"I was strong," he whispered.

Then he smiled.

"I am strong."

Haru touched his chest.

It felt warm.

No—not warm.

Hot.

His eyes opened wide.

The heat grew stronger.

It burned from the inside.

He fell to his knees.

His hands pressed on the ground.

"Ah… it hurts," he said.

His breath became short.

His heart beat faster and faster.

Thump. Thump. THUMP.

Then—BOOM.

A loud sound inside his body.

Haru screamed.

His back arched.

Pain ran through his whole body.

But there was no blood.

No wound.

The pain came from deep inside.

From his heart.

---

He saw light.

Blue, gold, red—all colors.

It came from his chest.

Inside his heart, something moved.

Circles.

Ten circles.

One by one, they began to spin.

First slow—

Then faster.

Like wheels of fire.

Magic filled the air.

The cave shook.

Crystals cracked.

Rocks fell from the ceiling.

But Haru didn't move.

He closed his eyes.

He let the pain burn.

He let the power grow.

---

Each circle felt different.

The first one felt like fire.

The second—water.

The third—wind.

The fourth—earth.

The fifth—light.

The sixth—shadow.

The seventh—lightning.

The eighth—healing.

The ninth—space.

The tenth—mind.

They all spun in his heart.

Together.

Like a storm of magic.

He could barely breathe.

His skin glowed.

His eyes turned bright.

Then—

CRACK!

A loud sound inside.

The circles stopped spinning.

And locked into place.

The pain stopped.

---

Haru fell to the floor.

He panted hard.

Sweat dripped from his face.

But the pain was gone.

The fire was gone.

And the power stayed.

He smiled.

"I can feel them now," he said softly.

"All ten."

Haru lay on the cold cave floor.

His whole body was tired.

His arms would not move.

His legs were heavy.

His eyes started to close.

"I… can't… move…"

He tried to speak, but his voice was weak.

The magic circles in his heart were quiet now. They didn't hurt. But they used all his energy.

Too much.

His eyes shut fully.

And he passed out.

---

Darkness.

He was floating.

No sound.

No light.

Only his thoughts.

And slowly…

Memories returned.

---

He saw a grand tower.

It touched the clouds.

He stood on top of it, wearing his black and gold robe.

People below cheered.

"Mage of Ten! Mage of Ten!"

He was the strongest in that world.

He helped kings.

He healed sick children.

He stopped wars with a single spell.

No one could fight him.

No one dared.

But he was not proud.

He was kind.

He loved learning.

He loved peace.

He lived a long life.

And when it was time…

He died with a smile.

"I hope I live again… and see a new world."

That was his last thought.

---

And now, he was here.

In a cave.

In a world of cities, phones, and dungeons.

But the soul was the same.

He was Jin Haru.

He was the Ten-Class Mage.

He had returned.

---

His eyes opened.

He saw the cave ceiling.

His body still hurt a little, but he could move now.

He sat up slowly.

The cave was quiet again.

Only the soft light of mana crystals remained.

He placed a hand on his chest.

The circles were calm.

Sleeping—but alive.

His heart beat steady.

His magic was back.

All of it.

And so was his memory.

"…I remember everything," Haru said.

He looked at his hand.

Then smiled.

"This time… I won't waste my life."
