The apartment was quiet, not from the birthday celebration being over, but because of the fact that, the most noisy people in the room, cough cough, Isaac and Shizune, basically exhausted their shenanigans. Satoya himself was watching the relentless rain outside, enjoying the view.
The city they were in, was one of the larger cities in the 1st capital's Rieamaius country. A Capital is a continent, with there being 5 Capitals, and each Capital has 3 countries. The total population of the whole world itself is generally approximated toward 7-8 billion.
But back to the matter of fact, the outside was how you would imagine a city in the rain, some people in posh clothing and jackets hurriedly walking to work, despite the countless messages on their phone warning them NOT to go outside in this weather, they still went on with their day.
While Satoya was watching the outside, Shizune, or the long black haired girl, was slumped over, on her phone, turning it on and off every second, bored out of her mind. Occasionally she would switch her phone on and off too quickly, causing her to accidentally call emergency services with her panicked finger cancelling at last minute.
Isaac however, was lying on the floor below the crystal chandelier, and yes, the same chandelier you would probably see being hung down above a dining table, unfortunately, this apartment doesn't have one.
Shizune let out a small sigh of boredom. "When are they coming? Rayna hasn't responded to anything.." she cried. There was no reply to that question, just the empty silence.
"Oh right, Shizune, why the hell are you calmer than usual today? You usually are the one who comes up with the fun stuff." Isaac finally spoke, looking at Shizune for an answer.
"Huh? Ah yeah. I mean, it's Satoya's birthday, and I am not in the mood to get attacked by him for pissing him off too much when he's doin his little daydream session." Shizune shrugged while she turned her head toward Satoya, expecting him to react.
And as expected, Satoya slowly turned around, with a confused expression that made her and Isaac laugh boisterously. "What? You want me to attack both of you?" Before Satoya could really do anything, Shizune and Isaac collectively shook their heads.
The apartment yet again became silent, like, so quiet you can probably hear the dust in the air land on something.
Then like a saving grace, a knock was heard from the front door, followed up by banging and knocking at the same time. "Oh finally!" Shizune celebrated as she quickly stood up and sprinted to open the door.
Without any warning or indication, a clumped up mass of what seemed to be 2 jackets that were completely soaked in rain water was thrown at her, causing her to fall back making a loud thud noise. The one who threw it was a girl with short faintly blonde hair holding a shopping bag, along behind her, was a short teenager with brown hair and glasses.
"Rayna! You've finally arrived!" Isaac exclaimed, although he sounded quite excited, Satoya couldn't shake the feeling that Rayna went shopping for more clothes during the day, which explains why Edward is wearing a t-shirt that seems too expensive for him to afford. Another piece of evidence is the shopping bag with "La Ropagante: Limited edition." Plastered all over it.
"We arrived later than expected because, well, this shop-goblin decided to spend 30000 Alikurs on clothing because our clothes were soaked from trying to walk in the rain." Edward tentatively shrugged, before going to the bathroom which was next to the front door.
Alikurs are the global currency, an Alikur note, is typically a plain, boring greyish blue color. A 1 Alikur note has a sword in the center, 5 Alikur notes have a spear, 10 Alikur notes have an axe, then it rotates, with 20 going back to a sword, then 30 with the spear and 40 with the axe. If you were to convert it to USD, 100 Alikurs is actually 1 dollar. Of course, there are coins, but they aren't necessarily worth anything, as the value of a coin–otherwise known as Ollaie–decreased in the last centuries, but production for Ollaies are still consistent, but more so cultural instead of economical.
Shizune, who was lying on the floor, completely incapacitated by the soaked jackets, thrusted her arm forward, and she seemed to have tried to say something, but no one could hear anything because she said it with a muffled sound.
"Huh?" Rayna raised an eyebrow, she calmly lunged over the small pile of soaked jackets, and placed the shopping bag beside the sofa. "Calling me a 'shop-goblin' I can spend as much money as I can without any worry!" Rayna said with a loud sense of pride.
Satoya gave her an odd stare, he saw Edward come out of the bathroom drying his hair with a towel, and Isaac sprawled out on the floor. Shizune on the other hand, lied motionless, accepting her fate, but suddenly grabbed the 2 drenched jackets, and immediately stood up.
She proceeded to ball up one of them, and made a horrible pitching stance, then threw the balled up jacket toward Rayna as hard as she could. It felt as if it was a slow motion scene straight out of a movie, the balled up cloth heading straight toward Rayna's face, Isaac's slow reaction to the scene, and lastly, Rayna's eyes slowly turning toward the item behind her.
And bam, a considerable explosion of water akin to a water balloon, left a mighty mess on the floor of the apartment, with Rayna's flinched eyes swiftly opening with pure fury. "You're dead!" She roared as she started chasing Shizune.
Rayna proceeded to chase Shizune around the apartment, the whole thing being taken in by Satoya who realized it started to rain less, Edward who was trying to hold in a laugh, and Isaac who was laughing extremely loudly.
While this whole thing was occuring, Edward heard a knock on the front door, and opened it. There stood a tall teenager who wore sweatpants and had blonde hair walked in, he also had bluetooth headphones covering his left ear.
"What the hell is happening?"
"Oh hey John John." Isaac waved, with the chase between the 2 girls stopping as Rayna finally caught up and grabbed Shizune by the hood. "Sup Johnathan." Edward nodded before bursting into laughter.
Johnathan looked around, trying to find any detail worth noting or asking, but nodded his head before calmly walking to the sofa and starting playing a mobile game. During this, Shizune was getting slapped into the floor with the very wet jacket she threw at Rayna.
A couple hours passed, with each of the group leaving to go back to their rented apartments in the city, with Isaac giving Satoya one good pat on the back – well not really a pat more of the act of slamming your hand as hard as you can on someone else's back – But nonetheless, everyone left the apartment Satoya was staying in, leaving him alone.
Satoya slowly walked into his room, gazed at the outside sun setting, and changed into his nightgown, then finally drifted himself to sleep.
