Chapter 10 - The Birth of Tapu Bewear!

As Eevee evolved, its Joy value skyrocketed.

In the light of evolution, Eevee's appearance rapidly changed.

Its body grew larger, its fur turned snowy white, and its ears, tail, and feet sprouted pink fur.

Its eyes became light blue, and ribbon-like feelers emerged from its head, making it look incredibly cute and graceful.

When the light finally faded, a brand-new form of Eevee stood before everyone.

Sylveon was born!

At that very moment, a line of text appeared in Carver's field of vision.

[Sylveon's mood improved. Joy +160. Received Sylveon's Gift: "Huge Power" Ability.]

Carver blinked, surprised.

Huge Power... Ability?

Was this the reward from that strength-oriented Eevee?

"Vee!"

Sylveon let out a soft and ethereal cry. Ariel, it did it!

Ariel grabbed Sylveon in a big hug. "I knew it! You're the best!"

"Vee!"

Everyone around them was moved by the sight, smiles spreading across their faces.

"Looks like little Eevee finally got its wish!" Hui said with emotion.

"Yeah, now Ariel and Sylveon won't miss the Contest in Fallarbor Town!" Long added, genuinely happy for his friend.

Carver glanced at Sylveon's updated information:

[Pokémon: Sylveon]

Gender: Male

Ability: Cute Charm

Moves: Tackle, Tail Whip, Growl, Covet, Sand Attack, Baby-Doll Eyes, Swift, Quick Attack, Charm

Status: Healthy

Mood: (/≧▽≦)/~┴┴

Joy: 100

Friendship: 30 (It is filled with gratitude toward you)

Description: Ariel and I are the best in the world! — Sylveon.

A 170-point increase in Joy... Carver was a little shocked. Was this some kind of emotional rebound effect?

"Thank you so much, Boss!" Ariel released Sylveon and bowed sincerely to Carver.

"No need to thank me. You already paid for the service." Carver shook his head.

"No, it's what you said that helped me understand something important. So we have to thank you!" Ariel said seriously. "Now we're heading to Fallarbor Town to participate in the Contest!"

Carver smiled. "Then I wish you all the best in the competition."

Ariel nodded. "Yes, and if we need help again, we'll definitely come back to visit your breeding house!"

"Then I'll be here waiting for you," Carver replied.

"Vee!" Sylveon also waved its ribbons as it said goodbye to Bewear.

Since the Contest was scheduled for the next day, they couldn't afford to waste time. The three hurried back to Fallarbor Town to prepare.

Watching the first guests of the breeding house leave, Carver was in high spirits.

This time, he had earned 5,300 Pokécoins, with almost zero cost.

Those berry juices? They were brewed from berries Bewear had picked from the wild.

"Phew, not bad! A good start, right?"

"Guu!" Bewear was also thrilled.

Great! The breeding house is officially open!

Seeing Bewear's happiness, Carver smiled, then turned his attention to his status screen.

[Huge Power (Talent): Significantly enhances the physical strength of a Pokémon, doubling the power of its physical attacks. It can be applied to any Pokémon, adding the talent without affecting its original ability.]

When Carver read the details, he froze in place.

This… isn't supposed to be an Ability?

No, this wasn't an Ability—it was a Talent. It seemed that, due to Eevee's strong physical aptitude and the 160-point boost in Joy, the power it was good at became this Huge Power Talent and was gifted to him.

What made it even more astonishing was that this Talent wouldn't interfere with the Pokémon's original Ability!

If he gave this to a physically dominant Pokémon…

Several images of powerful Pokémon flashed through Carver's mind:

Slaking with the Truant Ability.

Regigigas with Slow Start.

Supercharged!

But more than those, there was one Pokémon right beside him that would be a perfect fit.

Carver turned to look at Bewear.

Bewear—a Pokémon with a base Attack stat of 125.

If he gave it the Huge Power Talent…

The world's second Tapu Bewear might just be born.

Carver couldn't help but think of the anime's Alolan Bewear.

That Bewear could punch Buzzwole into oblivion and kick Pheromosa with ease. Its strength was terrifying—on par with any Ultra Beast.

Fans even called it the Fifth Guardian of Alola, naming it Tapu Bewear.

"Bewear, I want to give you a gift." Carver said.

"Guu?!" Bewear looked over excitedly. A gift from its little master?

Carver smiled, walked forward, and placed his hand gently on Bewear's head.

[Huge Power Talent — Activate!]

Target: Bewear!

In an instant, Bewear felt a surge of overwhelming strength course through its body.

It felt like its entire being had been supercharged with power!

"Guu?!"

The sensation both shocked and delighted Bewear. It blinked in disbelief and looked up at its little master.

"How do you feel? Not bad, right?" Carver asked with a grin.

"Guu!" Little master is amazing!

Bewear didn't think too deeply about it. The only thought that filled its mind was: I have to use this strength to protect my little master!

In its excitement, Bewear grabbed Carver and squeezed him in a big, furry hug.

"Ack!"

Carver immediately felt his bones creak under the pressure.

"Stop!"

Bewear instantly loosened its grip, looking at him in confusion.

"Starting today, I'm going to teach you how to control your strength," Carver said.

Only then did Bewear realize why Carver had shouted. It quickly released him and scratched its head in embarrassment.

"Guu..."

Carver finally caught his breath.

This is good. With Bewear here, I won't have to worry about Team Magma or Team Aqua trying to steal any Pokémon from the breeding house.

But speaking of that… the Growlithe egg should be close to hatching, right?

Carver went to the incubator to check.

[Growlithe Egg: A Pokémon Egg that will hatch into a Fire-type Growlithe.]

Health: Healthy

Father: Arcanine (Elite Four-level strength)

Mother: Arcanine (Elite Four-level strength)

Incubation Progress: 29/30

Good! Looks like it will hatch tomorrow. With that, the breeding house would gain another Pokémon!

But that still wasn't enough.

Bewear handled guarding the breeding house, cleaning, and housework.

When Growlithe matured, it could help cook, guard the backyard, and watch over the Pokémon that were left in their care.

But that still wasn't sufficient.

Carver thought about the farmland in the backyard.

For that, he'd need some Grass-type Pokémon to help tend the fields.

That wasn't much of a concern, though. The forest behind the breeding house was the vast Fallarbor Woods.

Thanks to volcanic ash, the area was lush and abundant in resources, drawing many wild Pokémon, including some rare species.

The original Carver's father had been a forest ranger there.

Carver knew countless Grass-type Pokémon lived there.

"After the breeding house closes tonight, I should head into the woods with Bewear and see if there are any suitable Pokémon for the place," Carver murmured.

He still had a few Poké Balls from his last trip—just the right tools for the job.

Right now, the breeding house felt far too empty and quiet—so empty it made him want to fill it up.

Lively and bustling—wouldn't that be perfect?
