Chapter 9 - Changes with each passing day

Time flew by.Winter had arrived, and the air had turned bitterly cold.

On the vast Black Soil Plains, a magnificent city was rising at an astonishing pace. Construction materials were cheap in the City of Gods, and Su Xingyu had stocked up in bulk. With the aid of extraordinary magic, the city's progress could only be described as a miracle in motion.

At this rate, within just half a year, the foundations of a planned mega city with a permanent population of one million would be complete.

Ever since connecting with the City of Gods, the Ye Tribe had been exchanging its cultivation resources for critical supplies. Development surged forward like never before.

Despite their large population, the Ye Tribe had no shortage of cultivation resources. They controlled two small blood crystal veins of their own, and with the annexation of the Barbarian Bull and Giant Tiger tribes, they now commanded four in total. Though small, these veins—mined diligently by tribe members—yielded six to seven thousand units of blood crystal each day.

And that wasn't all. Su Xingyu also held a dark crystal vein. With few magicians currently in the tribe, most of the mined dark crystals could be sold for profit.

In addition to the crystal veins, he had mithril and refined iron veins under control, and the Red River region supplied an enhanced resource unique to the area: Blood Star Sand.

There was a reason the Black Soil Plains could sustain so many tribes. Its abundance of natural resources was nearly unmatched.

But abundance always came with a price.

This fertile land had given birth to countless powerful forces. If Su Xingyu hadn't been strong enough—or hadn't had the luck and divine favor he did—he might have been forced to abandon tribal development and convert to a religious god instead.

Now, with vast resources in hand, the Night Tribe evolved with breathtaking speed. Its face changed daily. Its power surged like a wildfire.

The crystal stores were opened for use. Divine grace descended frequently, helping devout followers break through bottlenecks. The power of faith fed back by believers surged, and Su Xingyu could now harness increasingly vast divine sources, creating a virtuous cycle.

When it came to strengthening the tribe, Su Xingyu never hesitated to spend resources. He took from the people and gave back to them tenfold.

Extraordinary warriors of the Night Tribe sprang up like mushrooms after a rainstorm.

Just half a month later, they reached a monumental milestone: the entire army had stepped into the extraordinary realm.

Three days ago, Ye Zhan had sent an urgent message: the Bloodfang Forest had fallen. The Night Tribe had crushed the monster horde and claimed the forest as their own. Several new mineral veins and a rich spirit herb region had also been secured.

The battle, led by Ye Zhan, resulted in minimal casualties. Sixty-seven warriors fell, and just over three hundred were wounded.

Though the legion's overall strength overwhelmingly surpassed the Bloodfang Monsters, a few dying beasts launched desperate last stands. Even victory came at a cost.

Su Xingyu, hardened by years of witnessing life and death, offered pensions to the fallen and quickly shifted focus to developing the Bloodfang Forest.

Spanning nearly 2,000 square kilometers, the forest brimmed with untapped potential. Yet supporting such a massive and elite army placed immense pressure on Su Xingyu.

Extraordinary cultivation was like scaling a mountain—the higher one climbed, the more resources were required. Blood crystals sufficed for daily training, but for breakthroughs, alchemical potions were essential. The Night Tribe wasn't yet at that threshold, but Su Xingyu believed in preparing early.

After so long in this world, Su Xingyu had learned a simple truth:Everything else is illusion. Only strength is real.

With enough power, he could seize anything—food, weapons, even sacred cultivation resources.

That's why the military always remained his top priority.

Even among legions of the same level, strength varied widely. They were categorized as small fry, ordinary, elite, guards, and epic. Upon being upgraded, a legion's rank reset to the bottom of the new level.

So while two legions might both be second-level, an elite legion could obliterate an ordinary one. If the gap was two tiers, the result wasn't a battle—it was a massacre.

Su Xingyu lacked formal training methods, and he didn't know how to raise a legion's rank through finesse. But he understood one thing: a third-level legion would always dominate a second-level one.

So if he couldn't refine their technique, he would enhance their power.

He pushed warriors to break through, rise in rank, and hone themselves through real battles. After surviving ten or more campaigns, anyone still standing could call themselves "elite."

It was brutal. It was bloody. But it worked.

The battlefield was the ultimate test. And those who passed it were reborn as true warriors.

A sudden, majestic screech echoed through the sky.

"Grraaawww—!"

A massive shape cut across the clouds like a bolt of lightning.

It was a Sky-Splitting Eagle, its wings spanning nearly twenty meters. It soared like a living stormcloud, black and gold feathers gleaming with an ominous beauty. Its talons looked like scythes from the heavens—capable of rending beasts to pieces with a single strike.

It circled in the sky a few times, then descended with sharp grace. The earth trembled under its landing. The giant eagle called out softly, a melodic sound full of pride, as if reporting its triumph.

Su Xingyu looked up at the proud creature and gave a helpless smile.

"Yeah, yeah, I know. You did great this time..."

The Night Tribe had raised thirteen Sky-Splitting Eagles. Baptized by Su Xingyu's silver divinity while still in the egg, their bloodlines had reverted to their ancestral form. Formerly Storm Eagles, they had evolved into true Sky-Splitting Eagles, their potential soaring.

This particular eagle had been trained by Su Xingyu himself. It had absorbed nearly double the "creation energy" of its peers and was favored by the darkness. A true prodigy among magical beasts.

It was also the first of its kind in the Night Tribe to reach the fourth level. With its fearsome power, it could even hunt fifth-level magical beasts alone.

Su Xingyu had personally sent a few of these sky lords into the Bloodfang Forest campaign to handle powerful individual monsters.

Feng Da tilted his head, ruffling his feathers with dissatisfaction.

"Chichi..."

Su Xingyu chuckled. "Alright, alright. I haven't forgotten you. When you have a hatchling, I'll make sure to strengthen it too."

"Chichichichi..."

With a satisfied cry, Feng Da spread his mighty wings, launched into the sky, and vanished into the clouds like a phantom of war.

Dust swirled in his wake.

"Pah, pah, pah…"
