Chapter 59 - .59

"Danielle, I only want her face."

Dora spoke without hesitation.

Ning Caishen smiled slightly and nodded. "Her face really is nice. And... you two are sisters, so it's not strange that you're starting to look more and more alike."

Ning Caishen completely ignored the fact that they didn't have the same mother. He even gave Dora an excuse, saying she was still young, and girls change a lot as they grow up—who knows what she'll look like in the future?

They looked at each other and smiled. Dora nodded slightly.

"Then I'll leave it to you these next few days, Grandfather."

Ning Caishen nodded. "Don't worry. But I still need a few things. I'll try to get everything done before you return to Sky City."

Dora nodded and handed him a black-and-white striped bean.

"This is a seed left behind by an ancient civilization. It's said to be a kind of creature called a 'bean pod'. I've already sped up its growth. As long as it's planted in the right soil, it'll grow successfully."

Ning Caishen excitedly took the seed with both hands. His round white face turned red with excitement.

"Alright, alright, alright. All good. Dora, go back to your room. Grandpa won't see you off."

After returning to her room in the Ning household, the fear that Dora had been suppressing finally rose in her chest.

She truly had to thank her mother, who looked down on her. If it weren't for her mother helping to hide that lie, the Ning family wouldn't value her so much. And this seed wouldn't have ended up in her hands.

Thinking of the secret she knew, Dora pressed a button beside the bed.

"Send me some fruit."

She hadn't expected that fresh fruits and vegetables contained energy. People in the central zone could awaken powers all because of this.

But now, those known fruits and vegetables had passed through so many generations that their energy was almost gone.

That's why more and more people in the Eight Great Families couldn't awaken powers. If things went on like this, the Eight Families might be replaced by other powers.

And now that the Mother Tree was in danger, that's why they were all desperate for the appearance of the Savior Girl.

According to legend, only the Savior Girl could plant new species. Only the Savior Girl could communicate with the Mother Tree.

Of course, this legend only existed among the Eight Families. If people in the middle zones knew about it, it would be a disaster.

Dora took bite after bite of the sweet apple. Thinking that she would soon have Danielle's radiant and beautiful face, she couldn't help but smile.

Danielle, who was coaxing Rain, suddenly sneezed twice.

Danielle rubbed her nose, puzzled. "First you think of someone, then you scold them, then you nag... Is someone talking bad about me?"

Zachary was silently cooking when he heard the sneezes. He turned back with a worried expression.

Danielle quickly smiled. "I'm fine."

Zachary turned away again, face blank. Danielle sighed.

She glanced carefully behind her. Rain was still focused on the TV in the living room, so she wrapped her arms around Zachary's slim waist and pressed her smooth cheek against him.

"Hey, are you still mad? I already explained. My mind was all on finding you at the time. I just wanted to brush him off quickly."

Zachary sighed, then turned and pulled Danielle into his arms.

"So what were you planning to do? Really marry him?"

His tone was full of bitterness.

Danielle let out a giggle. "Sure, I'll just marry him. It's not like I need a license for a second husband."

She was pleased to see Zachary's face darken again.

Danielle tugged gently on Zachary's ear. "Come here, let me tell you something…"

The more Zachary listened, the wider his eyes grew. In the end, he was completely speechless.

"How do you even come up with this stuff?"

Danielle chuckled and said nothing.

Although the society here values women more than men, the status is still fairly equal. It's just that the marriage situation is a bit different from before.

Even if someone is the Nth husband, their status is only slightly lower than the first husband, and no one will intentionally make things difficult for them.

But Danielle is different. The palace drama she watched in her past life finally has a use now—what better time to use it than now?

She patted Zachary's shoulder. "Don't worry. If he's too thick-skinned, I'll definitely make my quirks known. I don't believe anyone will try to bring trouble to themselves in the future."

Zachary's face twitched slightly.

"As long as you're happy."

At this moment, Zachary even felt some sympathy for Chu Xiong—of all the people to provoke, he chose to offend Danielle.

After breakfast, Danielle began putting her plan into action.

She confidently walked next door to the Chu family's house. "Sister Chu Hong, are you home? It's Danielle."

Chu Xiong, who was throwing a tantrum at home, immediately smiled when he heard the name.

He stuck out his tongue at the other two men sitting in the living room.

"Look at you guys, always fighting. Look at me, I finally managed to get married."

Chu Hong rolled her eyes in disdain, looking at the three men beside her.

"Useless, none of you can even get me a daughter."

She sighed, thinking about how her three sons would soon be married off. Her face darkened.

The three men lowered their heads in silence.

Wang Dazhuang kept glancing outside, trying to hold back and speak.

"The head of the family, Danielle is outside. It wouldn't be good to keep her waiting."

After all, Danielle was the one he had picked out for his son, and he definitely didn't want her to leave.

Chu Hong sighed. "Alright, you two stay here. If Danielle doesn't like Chu Xiong, maybe we'll have better luck with you two."

Wang Dazhuang and his son dared not say anything.

When Danielle and Zachary entered, they saw the three men sitting on the sofa.

Other than Chu Xiong, who was acting overly flirtatious, constantly giving Danielle flirtatious looks, the other two men were relatively normal but seemed a bit awkward.

Danielle casually glanced at them and immediately turned to Chu Hong, stating her intentions.

"Sister Chu, I'm here to pick up Chu Xiong. Didn't he say he was going to marry me? Let's go."

Wang Dazhuang was stunned.

Chu Xiong's shy expression froze as well.

Chu Hong awkwardly coughed. "Danielle, I know this situation is a bit difficult for you, but Chu Xiong is still my son. It wouldn't be good to just move him away like this."

Danielle pretended not to understand. "What's wrong with it? Didn't you all insist that I marry him?"

"What? Are you backing out now? If so, then I'll just go home."

Danielle spoke so casually, as if she wasn't asking for a person but just picking up a random item.

Chu Hong awkwardly smiled. "Well, since he's my son, you should at least pay a little bride price."

Chu Xiong's father had said that Danielle was very rich.

Although Chu Hong was a straightforward person, who could resist money? Who wouldn't want a wealthy daughter-in-law to show off?

Danielle looked at her in surprise. "You want a bride price? I don't have any money. If you're willing to let him marry, then marry him, but I'm already here."

She spoke in such an indifferent manner, almost as if she was asking for a trivial thing. Danielle even casually stroked Zachary's arm in front of the Chu family.

"Look at my Zachary, he's single-handedly defeated middle-level beasts. With his strength and appearance, I didn't even need to give a bride price. What do you think of him... does he deserve it? Heh…"
