Beyond the mountains and across the sea, there lived a group of kobolds. They were mischievous and foolish, lively yet stubborn. They lived freely in the dark caves, guided by the light of candles.
Galen remembered clearly the first named kobold he killed, Goldtooth, a kobold chieftain he encountered in Elwynn Forest.
As a native race of Azeroth, kobolds are naturally timid and cowardly, actively avoiding creatures that pose a threat to them. To be even safer, the fearful kobolds don't even venture to the surface, focusing solely on living underground.
Even so, the kobolds' range of activity is still too wide. They can be found in various mountain ranges or underground locations rich in mineral resources. Furthermore, kobolds have an exceptionally strong reproductive ability, likely because there's nothing else to do in the dim mines besides mining. As long as food is plentiful, they can reproduce prolifically.
Galen, playing as Alliance, had slain kobolds from Elwynn Forest to Westfall. Playing as Horde, he had slain them from Durotar to Stonetalon Mountains. Eventually, he even encountered this race in the Arathi Highlands.
He even did a questline about kobolds in Highmountain of the Broken Isles, telling the story of the love-hate relationship between the Highmountain tauren and the kobolds.
Kobolds simply accompanied the growth of millions of great players.
Galen had also heard a legend that the kobolds, day and night, tirelessly mined unknown treasures underground. Except for when they needed to exchange some gold for living supplies, the kobold king hid all the gold and treasures, leaving behind the words:
"You, adventurer, want the treasures accumulated by the kobolds for thousands of years? If you want it, I'll give it all to you. Go find it! I've hidden all the wealth there!"
Treasures! An essential element of an adventurer's life: searching for treasures that could rival a nation's wealth!
However, this didn't appeal to Galen much. It would be better to occupy the kobold mine and mine it for decades, which would still make him as wealthy as a nation.
Also, the kobold treasure must be best known to the kobolds themselves. Galen remembered that the Fargodeep tribe had a leader, Foreman Flaggel, Find him, capture him, subdue him, and then inquire about the treasure. Perfect!
After Amor's order was issued, the troops in the camp began to move. Master Karluk had already led the rogue squad ahead, while Aragorn's team was switching shifts with Varrokal's team, taking over the camp's defenses.
Before long, Aragorn's team took the lead, and three large detachments of the Crimson Flame Legion marched out of the camp, heading east into the Alterac Mountains.
To deal with a kobold tribe, deploying three thousand people was all for one word: 'stability!'
The army had just entered the forest at the foot of the mountain when Aragorn raised his arm, keenly stopping the team. He seemed to have noticed something!
Just as the infantrymen had just raised their shields and began to be alert, Luda Egghead dispelled his stealth in the dense forest, and his figure slowly appeared.
Master Luda Egghead passed through the team and walked to Galen and Amor, reporting the reconnaissance information to them.
"Your Highness, Prince, Lord Amor, we can reach the canyon entrance in two kilometers ahead. There are less than a hundred kobolds wandering in the canyon, and most of them only have the strength of low-level warriors. I went deep into the mine to check it out. The tunnels inside the mine are intricate and complex, and there are a large number of kobolds. The current number is unclear, but it is roughly estimated that the Fargodeep kobolds should be a medium-sized tribe."
"Thank you, Master."
After Galen finished speaking, he looked at Amor. After seeing that he had no objections, he issued an order: "Continue moving forward!"
Before long, Aragorn led the vanguard to arrive at Fargodeep Canyon first.
The kobolds in the canyon were originally wandering around randomly. Suddenly, one of the kobolds sniffed his huge nose.
The main force of the Crimson Flame Legion is not like Luda Egghead and the others, who carry deodorant powder with them to prevent being discovered by enemies with keen senses when sneaking.
A large number of humans gathered together. Although they were still at a low place, the kobolds' keen sense of smell played a role. The kobold looked at the canyon entrance and suddenly showed a horrified expression. He saw the canyon entrance densely packed with red figures.
Those figures were taller than two kobolds. They were enemies!
"Aoo! Aoo! Aoo-aoo!"
The kobold ran towards the mine while making puppy-like barking sounds. Immediately afterwards, the rest of the kobolds also swarmed back into the mine.
It looked like they were going back to get reinforcements, but it didn't matter. This kind of terrain made it impossible to ambush them. Galen's goal was to wait for the kobolds to gather and then defeat them in one wave.
Defeat them, crush their spirit, and then conduct amnesty.
Fargodeep Canyon was more than two hundred meters wide. Aragorn directed the infantry to form two phalanxes and advance side by side. Behind them, more than three hundred musketeers followed closely. Aragorn was in the center of the team, and his position gave the entire team an aura buff.
Devotion Aura: Level 3, provides an additional 4.5 armor to surrounding friendly units.
Basically, when dealing with kobolds, once the Devotion Aura is activated, their mining picks are difficult to break through the infantry's defenses.
When Aragorn's team advanced to the center of the canyon, a large group of kobolds rushed out of the mine.
The kobold at the front was the strongest of these kobolds, about one meter and two in height, wearing red and orange clothes, revealing scales on his arms, and two small horns on his head.
The weapons in their hands were varied, including spiked maces, axes, javelins, spears, and some even held crossbows.
There were about four or five hundred of these strong kobolds, and they should be the warriors of the Fargodeep tribe. Although there were many kobolds behind them, most of them should be kobold miners. They held mining tools as weapons and were not professional guards in the tribe.
According to the kobold's racial division of labor, every forty kobolds can produce one small head and two warriors. If the four hundred warriors at the canyon entrance are all the guards of the Fargodeep tribe, then this tribe should have nearly ten thousand kobolds.
More than ten thousand kobolds. Fortunately, kobolds only like to mine and dig holes, otherwise, it would be a major disaster on the border of the kingdom.
The last kobold that appeared was the tallest of the kobolds at the mine entrance. He should be the leader of the kobolds. After he appeared, no new kobolds appeared in the mine.
The kobolds here should be most of the adult males of the Fargodeep tribe.
"Aoo! Aoo-aoo!"
"Aoo!"
Galen could hear the barking of these kobolds from afar. Even if they spoke Goblin, Galen could understand some of it, but unfortunately, he really didn't know the kobold language.
Suddenly thinking of this, how could he persuade them to surrender if he didn't speak the language? He immediately notified Gandalf remotely through the Heart of Origin to teleport over.
