Chapter 49 - Base Status

To counter the troll forces, Galen specifically constructed two Arcane Sanctums, intending to train more mages and priests to form the traditional human army's 'warrior, mage, priest' trinity – the traditional battle formation used by the Arathi Empire to defeat the troll armies.

However, times have changed. With the development of dwarven technology, firearms, a type of ranged weapon, have been introduced to the human kingdoms, creating ranged units with considerable firepower. In Stromgarde's traditional troll hunter units, the number of those using firearms and crossbows is now nearly equal. Moreover, gunners, unlike mages, are not limited by talent, making it difficult to increase their numbers.

Mage units are indispensable.

As the saying goes there's no such kill like overkill.

Besides, with a little time, assembling a mage unit is still possible, to counter the enemy's spellcasting units. At the same time, a priest unit should also be trained to accompany the army, assisting in combat and healing the wounded.

Since the completion of the two Arcane Sanctums, one for training wizards and one for training priests, each has trained six or seven individuals.

Unlike in the game, wizards are not all scantily clad witches. Like farmers, there are both men and women; their gender seems to be randomly determined during training.

And priests are not high elves; they are also composed of humans, both men and women.

Moreover, unlike regular units in the barracks, the training time for mages and priests has been greatly extended, making it impossible to train one in a single day.

Galen plans to gather a full squad of mages and a full squad of priests before training a squad of Spellbreakers to use as an ace in the hole.

The workshop and gryphon roost have just been completed, and the training queue has been filled under Galen's instructions, waiting for the flying machines, mortar teams, and dragonhawk riders to complete their training and emerge.

Judging from the situation with the riflemen, wizards, and priests, the pilots of the flying machines are probably not gnomes, the members of the mortar teams and gryphon riders are not dwarves, and the dragonhawk riders are not high elves.

However, even if this guess is correct, Galen does not intend to reveal the existence of the dragonhawk riders too early. The riders can be human, but the dragonhawks are indeed a specialty of the high elf kingdom's territory and are rarely seen in the human world.

Galen feels that the opportunity to use dragonhawk riders lies with Kael'thas in Dalaran, or with the high-ranking officers of the elven forces participating in the Orcish War, the commander of the high elf combat troops: Alleria Windrunner.

Speaking of which, humans will also have gryphon riders in the future. After the outbreak of the Scourge, Stormwind, humanity's last hope, will have a gryphon unit, an aerial guard composed of snow-white gryphons.

These snow-white gryphons are a perfect combination of beauty and power. Human gryphon riders wear blue plate armor and are equipped with longswords and shields. Although their skills are not as good as their Wildhammer dwarven instructors, and their weapons are melee weapons, they are still a formidable aerial force.

Galen suspects that the situation of the base's units being all human may be related to the initial prompt when he summoned the Heart of Origin base.

He remembers that there was a prompt before the base was built, saying that the Heart of Origin had detected that Galen was a descendant of the Iron Vrykul and had extracted his genes, so all the base units now, farmers, footmen, wizards, priests, etc., are all created by the Heart of Origin based on Galen's Geneseed.

Then, the appearance of these buildings and the abilities of the units are because his memory contains the game Warcraft, and the Heart of Origin selected the style of this game, so his base is so similar to the human race in Warcraft now?

Damn! The power of the artifact is terrifying!

The above are all Galen's deductions from some minor details after using the Heart of Origin for more than two months. He feels that his guess should be very close to the truth, but he doesn't know what the origin of the Heart of Origin is.

The Heart of Origin is an artifact, could it be a Titan creation?

Although he has many doubts, using the Heart of Origin, this cheat, is still very satisfying. He still has to rely on this cheat to reach the peak of his life.

The next day, the three thousand-man teams of the Scarlet Flame Legion broke camp and set off, preparing to head to the northeastern region of the kingdom.

The civilians who migrated in the early stages could live on the base's farms, but later they would need to build their own houses, so Hamon Caven stayed in Stromgarde. Galen's task for him was to purchase some tiles and utensils needed to build houses, while wood and bricks could be obtained locally.

At the same time, he left the copper coins, silver coins, and some gold coins from the project funds to Harmon, and Galen himself kept more than 40,000 gold coins.

During this period, when Galen returned to Minas Tirith, he experimented and found that the ratio of copper coins and silver coins charged into the Town Hall was far less than that of gold coins, probably because the energy of gold mines was much higher than that of silver and copper mines.

Galen did not travel with the main force. He and two hero units used mass teleportation to arrive in the northeastern region, deploying buildings in advance and building an outpost camp.

Gandalf and Aragorn had left coordinates in the north when they were farming experience in the Deadwood Village before. In the past few days, Gandalf had also transported the more than 2,000 soldiers left in the garrison over, while the newly trained troops remained in Minas Tirith.

Through multiple mass teleports, and even sometimes Gandalf bought the right to use mass teleportation when his skill cooldown had not yet expired, he had adapted to the discomfort caused by traveling through space.

Arathi Highlands, Northeast, a flash of white light, revealing the figures of Galen and his companions.

Amor, as the adjutant of the Scarlet Flame Legion, was once again assigned by Galen to command Omar's team, and Galen successfully got rid of Amor's following.

After the teleportation ended, Galen looked up and saw a camp still under construction. Most of the more than 2,000 Scarlet Flame Legion soldiers from the base were enthusiastically building tents, and a small part was patrolling around the camp.

Seeing that it was still early, Galen planned to take Gandalf and the others to patrol around, explore the map, and also select a site for the new town.

The trio set off to the north, Gandalf summoned a water elemental to advance with the team on the right, expanding the field of view for exploring the map.

Before long, the three were surrounded by water elementals. The water elementals scattered, and the fog of the Heart of Origin base's map was quickly explored.

Galen walked and admired the scenery on the highlands. This area must have just had a rain, and there were still drops of water on the grass. Walking on the grass, the boots and the ground made a squeaking sound.

Looking into the distance, the highland grassland seemed like a green carpet directly spread to the foot of the Alterac Mountains in the distance. A group of highland wild horses were running on the highland grassland, and occasionally a few raptors were chasing the wild horse herd.

After walking for about half an hour, Galen found a recessed basin.

Looking at the map explored by the base, the northeast corner, close to the mountains.

This should be the basin where Hammerfall would be built in later generations.
