Chapter 2 - On the Bed, Once Again

Thinking back, Cecilia remembered she wasn't always that 'crazy'. When she first transmigrated due to reading too many novels, all she felt was happiness. Cecilia had always wanted to have a family. When she took on the identity of the only princess of the Magenta Kingdom, Cecilia felt like God had finally given her the best gift.

Cecilia took on the identity of an unimportant side character, someone who would die because she was caught in the fight between the two male leads. The Magenta Kingdom was located between two great kingdoms. Because of that, when the war broke out, their condition was trampled until they finally disappeared.

Cecilia tried to change that situation. She approached Fiona, the female lead who was born in her kingdom and became her best friend. Cecilia thought that it would help save her kingdom from destruction. After all, the two crazy male leads couldn't possibly destroy something precious to Fiona.

"Redeem your evil deeds for tricking Fiona with your death."

Well, her efforts didn't end well. Cedric and Damian, the two crazy male leads, thought Fiona rejected their love because of her provocation. The accusation was baseless. As a loyal reader, all Cecilia wanted to do was watch the story happen by itself.

With that, her first life ended. Cecilia thought she was going to die for real. But in fact, she went back to the time when she had just transmigate for the first time.

"Okay! I'll stay away from everyone involved in the story this time!"

Right. That was Cecilia's brilliant idea in her second attempt. Cecilia stays away from everyone involved in the story like she is staying away from disease but is still trapped by them in the end. Cedric and Damian fought each other for Fiona. As a result, the Magenta Kingdom was destroyed like the original story.

"I have to get away from this place."

The third time, Cecilia began to fear death and decided to run away from the Magenta Kingdom and the family she longed for. This time, the outcome changed. She didn't die at the hands of Cedric or Damian but at the hands of robbers who followed and killed her after Cecilia was deemed useless.

"..."

In her fifth life, Cecilia went crazy due to the trauma she got from the robbers. Her condition worried her father. He left his royal duties to take care of her, which ended in great chaos due to the king's absence from the kingdom's affairs.

"I will declare war on the Blaine and Landis Kingdoms, Father."

In her sixth life, hatred consumed Cecilia's heart. She chose to attack first rather than be attacked. The results of her struggle were seen one year later. The Magenta Kingdom was destroyed. A small kingdom like theirs could not possibly win against a large kingdom that flanked their territory.

"..."

In the seventh attempt, Cecilia tried to seek help from other kingdoms to protect her kingdom. As a result, she was betrayed and abandoned when Cedric and Damian began to go crazy. Cecilia died once again without a chance to fight back.

"..."

In the eighth attempt, Cecilia tried to kill Fiona before Cedric and Damian could meet her. She hired the best assassin to do it. But when Fiona died, she suddenly repeated time as if she was the one who had died.

"......"

The ninth, tenth, and twentieth attempts failed for various reasons that frustrated Cecilia. Cecilia ended up trying to kill herself from the fiftieth to the eighth attempt. Her hands were still covered in blood. But after the eighth attempt, something seemed to dawn on Cecilia.

"Time can't be repeated forever. Something, something might be the trigger to end this curse."

With such thoughts, Cecilia continued to try various scenarios that might be able to change her fate. Death became her daily meal until her ninety-ninth attempt.

Okay. No more attempts. Fuck the game. Repeating life ninety-nine times managed to change something in Cecilia.

An idea occurred to Cecilia only when her head rolled in the hopes of the people watching her execution process.

"Your Highness, you've finally woken up!"

"Your Highness!"

At first, Cecilia liked how people respected her and was so happy when she finally woke up after her horseback riding accident. It was when she first transmigrated. After repeating the same thing ninety-nine times, Cecilia was reluctant to smile in front of everyone.

"Nina, who knows about my accident?"

Nina, Cecilia's maid, was a little surprised when Cecilia spoke in a tone as if she had asked the same question dozens of times. Cecilia was usually a sweet, cheerful girl. But at that moment, Nina felt that even Cecilia being awake was a blessing for them.

"Only the King, Sir Robert, Doctor Jane, and I know about the horse accident. The officers at the stable probably saw you. Even so, they don't know exactly what happened."

"Good. Then, announce my death to everyone."

"Your Highness?!"

Nina felt like her heart stopped beating when she heard Cecilia's words. Announcing a death was not a simple matter for a royal family. Especially, a royal family that only had one princess left like their kingdom.

"Your Highness, is something wrong? Did someone threaten you? I, I'm sure the king will solve the problem for you if you talk to him."

"That's right. I really have to talk to him."

Nina felt like she wanted to cry when Cecilia misunderstood her words. What Nina meant was that Cecilia should find another way to solve her problems rather than faking her death. Even so, Cecilia seemed like she agreed with Nina's words because she was going to talk about the fake death to her father.

"Then, Nina, send word to Father about this. Tell him that I'm dying and want to convey my last words only to him."

"Your Highness..."

"Now, Nina."

Nina bit her lip and lowered her face. She looked like a dog that had been scolded by its owner. Cecilia knew that Nina was kind. But at that moment, acting quickly would make it easier for her to make her new plan.

"Then... I'll go."

Nina walked with a shuffling gait, then started running when she finally got out of Cecilia's room. Cecilia could tell that Nina was probably crying secretly as soon as she got out. Nina probably thought that Cecilia faked her death to escape the Magenta Kingdom. But she had learned the hard way about such an idea.

Cecilia wasn't going to leave. She just wanted to 'erase' her identity from this game.

It was her 100th attempt to survive until the end.
