Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Azure Inferno

Burning in Blue Rain

The azure rain chimed like shattering crystal against the bunker's rusted door. Su Yao's visor frosted over, each breath painting crimson-tinged fog. She cradled Ye Shen's neural-link helmet by the diesel generator, its dried cerebral matter glowing faintly.

"Sixteen encryption layers in his final data burst." Lin Zhan's prosthetic screeched prying open cold storage. "But I sure as hell can't read this damn chicken scratch!"

Li Beichen stood sentinel at the observation window, lightning scars writhing across his face. His pupils mirrored bridal shards floating in the rain - quantum debris from annihilated timelines reconstituting into colossal cocoons. Seventh lightning flash revealed their wedding photo etched on chrysalis membranes.

"This isn't precipitation." He wiped frost from glass. "It's Chrono-Cocoon molting."

The bunker convulsed. Su Yao shielded jade serum vials with her body as Lin crashed into shelves, 2023-dated cans bleeding through labels.

"Northwest quantum corrosion!" Su's scanner sparked. "Rain's rewriting concrete matrices!"

Lin ripped open his tattered suit, crystalline veins pulsing. His shotgun barrel melted against the cavity's edge: "Get the fucking welder! Wait... what fresh hell?"

A human arm protruded through the void, wedding band glowing beneath firefly-lit skin. Buckshot passed through its quantum-phasing form, scorching the opposite wall.

"Hold fire!" Li's lightning cage enveloped the breach. "That's..."

Bridal shards blizzard-swirled into Su Wan's specter. Her quantum hand caressed Li's pocket, levitating the lightning-rod hairpin. "Why do you think petrified wood seals Cocoons?"

Lin's coughing fit sprayed crystalline shrapnel. Su Yao's dissolving syringe dripped serum: "His DNA's unraveling!"

"Because lightning scars time." Su Wan's touch split Li's memories - his younger self clutching bleeding Su Wan under identical azure deluge, twelve meteors incinerating the sky.

Memory Blade

July 16, 2013. New Era Sublevel Lab

Young Li clutched blood-soaked logs, Su Wan dying in his arms. Her lab coat hung in tatters, collarbone wound crystallizing jade.

"Don't... serum..." She gripped his shaking hand. "The eggs... not meteors..."

Bone-cracking screeches beyond blast doors - their cancer vaccine mutating volunteers. Li's tears blurred her ID tag: *Prometheus Project Lead Researcher*.

"Remember... lightning-struck wood..." She blood-drew an ouroboros on his palm. "Find the Well..."

Quantum bridal shards enveloped her as acid ate through metal. Leaping into vents, Li glimpsed infant brainwaves on monitors - Ye Shen's future incubation blueprint.

Back in reality, Li's storm ravaged the bunker. Dispersed Su Wan reforms clearer in azure rain: "Now you see? We're forever trapped in July 16th."

Lin's prosthetic choked his own neck, crystal vipers钻进耳孔: "Kill me... while I'm still..." Pupil fragments showed desert infernos.

Su jammed defibrillators into his chest: "You won't turn! Mom spent twenty years..."

"Your mother volunteered!" Su Wan's scream projected encrypted files. Holograms showed Dr. Su injecting core solution, her coat stained with era-spanning blood.

Matricide

July 16, 2023. New Era Ruins

Quantum echoes revealed Dr. Su standing in embryo-filled tanks. Azure rain soaked her lab coat, jade serum in hand.

"Mommy's merging with the Cocoon." Her hologram trembled. "This poison... will rebirth civilization..."

Real-Su collapsed, serum-mutated veins glowing: "You torched the lab... to save me?"

Ceiling peeled away. Li's lightning net failed as bridal shards cocooned Su Yao.

"Wrong choice..." Quantum Dr. Su embraced her daughter. "Serum should kill gods..."

Lin's roar became a howl. His disintegrating arm spewed memory-sand mirages - dying comrade's blood warning: *Don't trust New Era!*

Li's hairpin pierced Su Yao's chrysalis. Jade detonation plunged them into the Well's vortex - infinite selves repeating tragedies under eternal July rains.

At the Well's base, twelve human hearts orbited an astrolabe. Su Wan Prime hung chained at the center, neural tendrils reaching orbital eggs.

"Kill me, collapse all timelines." Her pupil-less eyes opened. "Or become Cocoon-Mother for mankind 7.0."

Li scorched the altar. His fingers brushed their first date's sakura preserved in her necklace core: "What if there's a third path?"

Lin's crystallized vocal cords quantum-resonated: "Blow this shit up!" Buckshot through the astrolabe sprayed Su Yao's serum.

Jade fluid triggered infantile wails. Su Wan's chains crumbled: "Useless... every Mother was a deicide..."

Su Yao pressed palms to the altar, disintegrating: "Mom said... antidote is love..." Her jade glow revealed the lab fire's truth.

Li embraced Su Wan as hairpin pierced both hearts. The Well's seventh bell reversed rain into galaxy, orbital eggs blooming into ghost orchids.

Three months later, Luo City's dome shimmered.

Lin polished Ye's tombstone: *Who Terminated Doomsday*. His cured veins still ached with desert ghosts.

Su unsealed her mother's letter. Quantum Dr. Su smiled before sakura trees: "True cure isn't serum... but loving through despair."

Li watched bridal shards glitter in atmosphere. The petrified hairpin dusted through his fingers.

When green shoots pierced crystalline earth, the bunker radio crackled with Ye's final decrypted message - hacker's grin audible:

"Who says recursion can't be fun? I hid Easter eggs... in every Cocoon."
