"I-I have a phone here!" For some reason, Alina kept stuttering.
Only Zoe noticed her strange behavior. However, she quickly ignored it as they were panicking.
Michelle grabbed the phone and dialed 9-1-1.
The phone rang, but a voice stating there was no network signal echoed from the phone. Michelle was stunned. She tried once again and received the same result.
Samantha exploded. "What does it mean there is no network? For damn sake, we are in a city, not on some mountain peak!"
"I-I don't know what is happening either!" Michelle was shivering, still trying to reach out for 9-1-1, but to no avail.
"Girls…" Alina suddenly called them.
Only Samantha gave her a stare while Zoe and Michelle only glanced at her and then focused on the phone.
"What's up?" Samantha asked, still holding the door, while she slowly calmed down as did the banging on the other side of the door.
"I felt strange…"
Alina turned towards Samantha, and the latter was horrified.
"Y-You–"
Samantha saw Alina's eyes turning white, violet veins popped up on her neck and her face. Alina was also tilting her head sideways, and her saliva kept dripping out alongside her tongue swaying outside of her mouth.
The more Alina stared at Samantha, while she was slowly moving towards her, the more Samantha felt trepidation, as though she was being slowly approached by a terrifying predator.
"Girls!" She screamed, letting go of the door knob and facing Alina with her guard up. "Alina is becoming like Nicole!"
"What?!"
Michelle and Zoe turned around at the same time. When they saw Alina's state, Michelle dropped her phone as they backed away slowly.
They first thought of restraining Alina by hugging her, but they were afraid of being bitten like what Nicole did.
In addition, for some reason, they speculated that if they got bitten, they would become like Nicole and… Alina.
Zoe turned around, searched for some weapon and finally realized the medical tool box she was holding could be one.
She stepped forward and shouted, "Samantha, get away!"
Samantha did not hesitate to follow her words and leapt sideways. Alina was about to pounce at her when she was smacked by Zoe with a medical tool box.
She fell to the floor forward and growled.
Seeing that despite Zoe using her full strength in an attempt to knock her unconscious, she still has a vigor to growl, they panicked.
"R-Run away!"
They simultaneously turned around and ran towards the door. They were renting a room in a house, so the moment they left the room, their only escape would be the main door.
However, they did not expect to see a sluggish person walking abnormally to suddenly turn towards them.
"AAAAAAAAA–" Michelle screamed at the top of her lungs and paused.
Meanwhile, Zoe searched for another weapon and decided to use whatever she saw in sight. She spotted an umbrella and leapt towards it.
The zombie-like person ran towards them, and knowing that Alina was behind them, perhaps she had just stood and was ready to rush towards them, Zoe did not hesitate to run towards the zombie-like person and thrust the weapon towards him.
"RUN!" Michelle scurried forward while keeping her gaze at the zombie-like person, who was restrained by the umbrella.
Her sprint only quickened, knowing that Alina could caught up to them at any moment.
Samantha, who ran on the other side of the zombie-like person, used the chance to push him towards Michelle's side, knowing that the latter had already passed by him, in hopes to give a chance for Zoe to escape, too.
She was successful.
"Thank you!"
Samantha nodded as she grabbed the umbrella and rushed towards the entrance. Michelle was already at the door, opening it. However, their hearts raced when Michelle screamed once again and fell to the floor with a face filled with terror.
"AAAAAAAA—-"
"What are you screaming around like a girl–Oh, you're a girl."
A voice echoed in the entrance, abruptly stopping Samantha and Zoe on their tracks. However, the thought of Alina and the zombie-like person recovering and managing to catch up to them made them panicked.
"Get out and leave! There are zombies!" Zoe shouted.
In fact, she did not know why she described them as zombies, but that was what came first on her mind.
When they arrived at the entrance, they were stunned to see a slim man their age covered with viscous blood, making it even difficult to see his face. He seemed so indifferent while wielding two bastons, as he was staring at them.
For some reason, they feared him more than the zombies behind them.
"That is what I come here for."
Eric left his gaze at them and looked behind them. Samantha and Zoe were awakened from their stupor and turned around.
Alina and the other zombie, to which the latter they recognized as the boyfriend of other boardmates, rushed towards them.
"Move."
Samantha and Zoe subconsciously paved a path for Eric, as the latter leisurely walked towards the terrifying two zombies.
As the two zombies approached and were about to grab him, Eric's arms turned blurry.
Samantha and Zoe's eyes widened. Before they knew it, the zombies' mouths were severed and Eric's bastons were filled with blood, some splashed around after moving it.
Eric then swiftly grabbed the left baston with his right hand, freeing his left hand, as he seized the floating grey crystals leaving in the falling zombies' head, and pushed it to his pockets swiftly.
Zoe and Samantha glanced at his bulging pockets and wondered how many objects inside the brain of the zombies were inside. How many zombies did he kill, then? They both have the same thought.
Eric turned around and smiled at them.
"Are you okay, ladies?"
He would have appeared charming to them if it was not for the viscous blood all over his body and the bastons, causing him to be infinitely times scarier than zombies.
"T-Thank you for saving us!" Michelle blushed.
Samantha and Zoe gave her a strange look.
Girl, you were scared towards him a second ago and now you were in love with him? Give your heart a break. You just complained to us yesterday about a guy playing your heart! Zoe exclaimed inwardly.
