Cyril: ಠ_ಠ

Was there really a need for a triple wow?

Also, why were these people still here? It had been well over 6 hours already. Were they that jobless?

Also…1/3?

Fuck.

[We at H.E.L.P Apocalypse Co. believe in encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit in all of our employees and fostering individual strength so that our employees can be pillars not just for the company but for their worlds.]

[A great person once said 'Those who can't help themselves can't help the company'. ]

[Defend your waystation and ensure your sanctuary spark isn't stolen, destroyed, or absorbed by others.

[Reward: Waystation Storage Bag + 1 Employee Store Point]

[Penalty: 💀Permanent Termination of Employment 💀]

[Start Time: Now]

Looking at the new task, I wanted to immediately become a great fantasy magician, unlock the meteor skill, and shoot it at the headquarters of H.E.L.P Apocalypse Co.

Instead, I immediately ducked down as a large item flew through the window.

CRASH!!!

Shards of glass flew everywhere, and the previously pristine room was now a total mess.

"Hey, you 100-coin bastard! You think you can hide after hitting me in the face! Think again! Come out here so we can fight man to man instead of hiding like a pussy!" A loud voice came from outside, and seeing the night sky, it seemed like no time had passed.

Weird.

Before I could think too deeply, another large object flew past my face.

Glancing back at the wheelbarrow that had blasted not only through the window but through the shut door as well, I immediately began to crawl toward the bathroom.

A powered-up telekinetic and his three friends? Pass.

Let's grab my pants and run away cleanly after properly burying the sanctuary spark in the basement.

There was no need to stick around like it was a tower defense game.

THUD! THUD! THUD!

KRAK-

"He's upstairs. Go get him!"

"Jake! Hold it steady! It's wobbling too much!"

"I'm trying, you damn fatty!"

Numerous voices yelled out, and I paused to categorize them.

I could sense two people dashing up the stairs after smashing the front door.

Reddened fingers of the guy gripping the window sill with his head poking up above it.

One guy was outside launching things.

Weighing my options, I quickly commanded the stairs to collapse and all the internal and external lights to be turned off, sinking everything into pitch-black darkness.

"Hey, the power went-"

Hearing two consecutive thumps and screams from the floor below and seeing that the darkness didn't impede my vision even when staring outside, I dashed to the window, clicked down on a random color on the pen, and stabbed it straight into the eyeball of the guy.

SQUELCH-

The disgusting jelly-like texture clung to my fingers, but I persisted in pushing the pen until I could barely hold it.

Easily dragging the pen like a hot knife through butter, I slashed across the nose into the other eyeball, twisting it deep inside for good measure and slamming my palm against it, burying the pen deeper and shoving the person down into the hovering lounge chair that was wobbling unsteadily beneath him.

The blond guy from earlier was illuminated by the full moon, and as our eyes met, he swept his hand backward.

"Argh-" the horrific scream was suddenly cut off by a large crashing sound, and in return-

Phwik!

I immediately ducked down as a metal sheet sliced my cheek.

It flew past me and embedded itself in the wall, the metal vibrating from how hard it was launched.

My cheek stung horribly, and I could feel the hot blood trickling down my face, making me realize that people were really trying to kill me again for some strange currency that they didn't even understand yet.

"Fuck this is insane. HR chat guy, where's the guard dog?" I whispered harshly at the chatbox.

[😊The Guard Dog doesn't want to come yet. 😊]

Cyril: ಠ_ಠ

Why the hell should I care that it doesn't want to come yet??

I didn't want to join this company, and yet here I am.

"Isn't this a violation? I purchased it, and it's not here. What gives?"

[😊It's a living being that is exercising free will, which we at H.E.L.P Apocalypse Co encourage to the fullest extent. 😊]

Cyril: ಠ_ಠ

Am I a joke to you? Is that poor blue-haired lady a joke?

[😊As long as the Guard Dog arrives within 24 hours of ordering, no rules or regulations have been broken. Please check Employee Handbook Section 3.44.1b for further information.😊]

"There's no such section in the handbook."

[😊The information was previously blocked as it didn't pertain to you. it has been recently unlocked.😊]

[😊Check it out when you have some free time since you seem a bit busy.😊]

Cyril: ಠ_ಠ

"Are you kidding me? Can't you see that I'm being attacked? You want the spark to be stolen?" I hissed angrily while trying to keep my voice low.

[😊If it gets to that point, it's naturally you, Cyril Alexander Taylor, who needs to worry rather than us, right? We at H.E.L.P Apocalypse don't interfere in personal matters and will always retrieve our goods. No matter what. So do your best, Cyril Alexander Taylor, to survive…or could it be that you want to quit? If so, I'll accept your resignation gladly.😊]

I stared at the smiling emoji momentarily before hiding my anger.

"Fuck you and fuck this shitty company. I hope all of you get struck by a solar flare and disintegrate, and then I hope your ashes get sucked into a black hole so they can never be part of anything ever again."

[😊Very creative insult. I'm taking notes for your quarterly review.😊]

Whispering curses to myself, I began crawling toward the bathroom while holding my towel to my waist when double fists launched through the floor and sent shards of wood flying, some of the splinters lodging in my legs.

Immediately making a U-turn from the hallway back into the room, I pressed myself lower into the ground and began rolling, since each time I stopped moving, the person below would jump up with both fists clenched and almost hit me.

As I stood up to be able to move faster, cylindrical poles of metal began flying through the open window and walls like javelins and began hitting the wall in a random spread.

It was an attack from all angles, with the poles launching through the wall, and the person down below continued to jump up through the floor, his fists smashing everywhere like he was playing whack-a-mole.

Mentally urging the feather to rip up some floorboards and hide beneath them, I urged the closet door to open.

The moment it creaked open, five metal poles flew in tandem, slammed against the door, and pinned it to the wall while a figure cannonballed through the floor and landed behind the hole.

He began punching the air wildly, and then I heard the voice of the person below.

"He's 3 feet in front of the hole in front of you, so just walk around the hole slowly, and you should touch him! Drag a foot on the ground so you don't fall back down."

As I stared through a hole at the person calling orders below, he cheekily waved at me as our eyes met.

He was wearing a black tracksuit, messy black hair, and circular glasses.

He could see me even in the darkness.

"Jake, make a two-foot correction to the right and blast the poles to the right through the wall. You better not miss it again!! Leo, jump forward after you hear it hit!"

"Fuck you, Russell! You're making it sound easy! Do you know how hard this building is? How heavy was Kyle? And he's not moving! I'm tired!" a distant voice shouted back, and I glanced from the window to the glasses-wearing guy below.

"Push through! The guy is injured, plus he's in his towel. Easy money, and we get to split it three ways instead of four. Make sure you don't eat Kyle's coins by yourself, either! I'm watching."

"Tsk"

Seeing his eyes gleam again, his role became clear—leader and the eyes in this dark place.

He had to go first.

After that, I could run away safely.

Mentally gauging how much control I had of the area around the waystation while communicating with the feather and understanding the limits, I slammed my fist against the ground, opening a door below myself and immediately twisting the opening so I fell directly on top of the guy with glasses, my elbow aimed straight at his face.

CRUNCH-

I could feel the sensation of cartilage shifting and shattering, as well as my elbow becoming numb, before a right hook caught me in the sternum, knocked the air out of me, and sent me flying backward into a wall.

SLAM!

My vision immediately became blurry as my head and body slammed into the wall, making a dent in the wall.

"Ughhhhh, You fucker, what are you a teleporter? Ughhhhh, my nose. My eye!" I could hear a nasal voice that was interrupted by moaning.

I saw the figure of the glasses-wearing guy clutching his bloody face while brushing away shards of his broken glass.

It seemed that one of the shards had entered his eye as an unreal amount of blood poured down his face, and he kept screaming.

Despite his slumped-over figure and groans of pain, I wasn't really in a place to take advantage of it.

My vision kept blurring and focusing randomly.

I could taste blood in my mouth, and my head felt like it was ringing each time it moved.

It seemed like I had a concussion.

To top it all off, I couldn't breathe, each gasp of air not reaching my lungs.

Despite his skills seeming to lean toward the visual side, the guy wearing glasses was way more substantial than he looked.

If it wasn't for the surprise aspect, I wasn't sure if I would have been able to injure him so badly in one hit.

I really, really needed a gun.

Gasping while trying to breathe air, I urgently tapped my hand on the ground, trying to summon the pen while communicating with the feather and calculating the positions of the three boys.

The one upstairs was still swinging at empty air.

The one outside was shooting javelins through the broken door and window of the first floor, and the one here was struggling to his feet with a messed-up face while glaring at me.

"Huff-"

"Huff-"

"Huff-"

The only sounds were my panicked breaths as my tightened chest slowly relaxed.

"I'm going to kill you!"

And I wanted to remove his other eye.

Since we both couldn't have what we wanted, how about a skydiving lesson paid by me?

Cyril Taylor Continental Airlines at your service.

Enjoy the ride, you fucking bastard.

The 'Doors' ability was meant to be used to move myself and inanimate objects around the waystation and the land surrounding it, but if I strained, it seemed it would work on others as well.

Combining my willpower with the sanctuary spark, I slammed my hand on the ground as he ran forward and opened a door below him, feeling a huge amount of energy drain from me as he fell into it.

Stretching my senses as far as I could, I realized I couldn't drop him into the lake since the distance was too far, so I increased the door opening height as much as possible, positioning it higher than the three stories of the building.

And dropped him on top of his telekinetic friend.

"Aggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! "
