Chapter 3 - Unveiling the Mystery

Las Vegas—an endless sea of lights, sounds, and illusions. For many, it is a place of dreams and decadence. But for Sakthivel, stepping onto American soil feels surreal. The city pulses with an energy unlike anything back home. Yet, beneath the neon façade, something feels off.

At the gates of Ravichandran Industries, a sprawling fortress of glass and steel, Sakthivel is greeted by Dr. Gautham Arora, a calm, sharp-eyed man in his late forties. Gautham, once Dr. Ravichandran's closest associate, now finds himself overwhelmed by uncertainty. His once-bustling lab is silent, corridors dim, research on hold.

"Where's Dr. Ravichandran?" Sakthivel asks.

Gautham hesitates before answering. "He's… missing. After an accident. No one's seen him in weeks. The board is panicking. Investors are pulling out. And the city… the city is whispering about a monster."

Sakthivel frowns. "A monster?"

Gautham leads him to the surveillance room, where news clips play on repeat—reports of a winged creature seen flying over the Nevada skies. Grainy images show a silhouette too large to be a bird, too graceful to be a drone. Some claim it screeches like a predator, others say it weeps like a man.

"This… thing has been spotted near power stations, research labs… and once, near this building," Gautham adds. "I didn't believe it. But now, I'm not sure what to believe anymore."

As days pass, Sakthivel begins working with Gautham, combing through Dr. Ravichandran's encrypted files. Late one night, they crack open a hidden folder—Project Gangeyan. Blueprints, genetic logs, nerve-mapping diagrams. And buried deep in the folder—a partial transformation log dated the night of the lab accident. It details the malfunctioning of a fusion chamber and the exposure of human and avian DNA.

Then comes the bombshell—security footage from that night: Ravichandran's final experiment. They watch in horror as a blinding flash engulfs the lab, and from the smoke emerges a creature—its wings mighty, its eyes burning, but unmistakably… human in soul.

"Dr. Ravichandran didn't die," Gautham whispers. "He became something else."

While trying to comprehend the tragedy, Sakthivel and Gautham uncover another horror. Hidden in a sub-drive is an email exchange between Suresh and Vikram Jadhav, the arms dealer and head of a global syndicate. Suresh had been betraying Ravichandran all along—leaking research, tracking experiments, and plotting to weaponize the fusion technology.

Jadhav's plans are bold and terrifying. Using Ravichandran's tech, he hopes to create hybrid armies, intelligent beasts bred for war, capable of infiltrating any nation and destroying it from within. And the first proof of concept—Gangeyan.

While searching the restricted wing of the lab, Sakthivel stumbles upon a strange, orb-shaped device inscribed with solar glyphs. Gautham explains it was Ravichandran's side project—a prototype time modulator. The device absorbs solar radiation and allows travel within a 24-hour window—a risky yet brilliant invention Ravichandran never got to test fully.

"Why would he build this?" Sakthivel wonders aloud.

"To fix a mistake," Gautham replies. "Or… to prevent one."

Despite warnings, Sakthivel takes the device, sensing its importance. For now, it's inert—but something in his gut tells him it will come alive when the time is right.

Meanwhile, the city trembles.

Gangeyan, now more creature than man, lurks in the outskirts—feeding on power lines, avoiding the military, and clinging to the fragments of his old self. His mind is fractured. Ravichandran's consciousness speaks in whispers, but the beast in him screams. Each day, the line between them blurs. Each night, the skies echo with his flight—and his pain.

Sakthivel realizes a truth he cannot escape: Gangeyan is not a villain. He is a victim. And saving him may be the only way to stop Jadhav from turning the world into a battlefield of monsters.

But how do you save someone who no longer remembers they need saving?
