Under the gaze of Lu Heng and the other two, the twenty-six-meter-tall mecha moved slightly.
Constructed entirely of metal, the mecha exhibited remarkable flexibility, appearing almost indistinguishable from a human.
Inside the mecha, Navia found the controls fascinating.
The mecha's movements mirrored hers one-to-one, with no perceptible delay.
She looked down at Lu Heng and the other two.
A panel appeared before her eyes—the mecha's built-in computer was displaying and calculating information about the trio.
She noticed that the mecha's computational capabilities were limited to analyzing only the information she already knew.
For Lu Heng, aside from his name, everything else displayed as question marks.
In contrast, the details for Melus and Silver were far more comprehensive, including their birthdates and their relationships with her.
Apart from Lu Heng's combat power being a question mark, the mecha's computer rated Melus and Silver as utterly ordinary.
Navia then examined the weapons in her hands.
A greatsword and a round shield.
Given that technology had advanced to the point of creating mechas, these were naturally not mere melee weapons.
Beyond its basic function as a slashing weapon, the greatsword could also emit lasers.
In other words, her greatsword could essentially function as a laser cannon!
As for the round shield, it was equipped with something called a "force field."
Navia wasn't well-versed in technology, but according to the mecha's computer, this shield was maxed out in defensive capabilities.
Offense and defense in one!
However... it did seem somewhat lacking in standout features.
Every function was competent, making it an all-rounder!
The only regret was that its tier was only four.
Still, Navia was quite satisfied. Among four-tier cards, this one was undoubtedly top-tier.
"Want to test the weapons?" Lu Heng asked.
"Sure!"
Navia was also eager to see just how destructive the greatsword could be.
A faint blue glow lit up along the blade as the mecha's arm lowered naturally.
The greatsword touched the ground, slicing through it as effortlessly as a knife through water, encountering almost no resistance.
The mecha swung the greatsword a few times.
Relative to the mecha's size, the greatsword wasn't excessively large, but its weight was immense. Yet, wielding it didn't feel particularly strenuous.
The air whistled with each swing.
Visibly, the air itself seemed to shimmer from the intense heat radiating off the greatsword's blue glow.
After testing the basic functions, the blue glow on the greatsword faded. The mecha slung the round shield onto its back and then cradled the greatsword like a cannon.
In an instant, the greatsword began to transform.
The blades on either side split apart, revealing a high-energy weapon barrel hidden within—the kind often seen in sci-fi movies.
Navia excitedly searched for a target.
Ding.
"What was that sound?"
Navia was puzzled.
[Locked on by the Wandering Sky Mirror]
The mecha couldn't detect the Wandering Sky Mirror on its own; the notification came from the mirror itself.
Navia's eyes widened.
Oh no!
The Wandering Sky Mirror had caught her preparing to cause some destruction!
"Please exercise restraint and avoid causing casualties."
Neuvillette's voice came through—clearly, he had intervened.
He understood Navia's desire to test the weapon and didn't intend to stop her, but he didn't want any accidents.
"Don't worry!"
Navia sighed in relief. "We're just testing its power. We'll be careful not to harm anyone!"
"Understood. Goodbye."
[Wandering Sky Mirror lock disengaged]
"That scared me..."
Navia muttered, "I almost thought the Wandering Sky Mirror was going to blast me."
"Maybe you could test whether the shield can block its attack?" Lu Heng teased.
"Don't joke like that! How could it possibly block the Wandering Sky Mirror?"
Navia had no interest in trying.
Even if she knew the mirror wouldn't unleash its full fifth-tier power casually, she still didn't want to risk it.
At the very least, she didn't want the mecha's paint scratched!
Shaking her head, Navia continued her tests.
She aimed at an uninhabited hillside.
Hum—
The greatsword's blue glow flared.
In an instant, a high-energy beam shot forth.
It struck the distant hillside, reducing half the hill to dust in a fiery explosion.
A full ten seconds later, the thunderous boom finally reached them.
Melus and Silver exchanged glances, their faces filled with shock.
An attack of this magnitude—if fired twice at Poisson—would erase the town from history.
"Whoa!!"
"This power!"
"This is way better than a musket!!"
Navia's voice was brimming with excitement.
So overpowering!
And that was just a basic shot!
After the excitement wore off, Navia felt a twinge of regret.
The shield's defensive capabilities couldn't be tested.
Melus and Silver weren't up to the task, and she couldn't exactly ask Lu Heng to take a swing at her, could she?
The thought made Navia's expression turn odd.
She had a feeling that if Lu Heng did strike, the mecha would fall apart on the spot.
Dismissing the idea, Navia moved on to testing other functions.
The mecha's built-in computer was incredibly powerful.
Its fingertips were equipped with various high-tech features, including blood sampling and analysis.
The more she tested, the more amazed Navia became. It was unbelievably versatile.
Finally, Navia finished her tests. Satisfied, she deactivated the transformation.
The mecha dissolved into a silvery light, and a faint glimpse of a card could be seen returning to the hidden card holder at her waist.
"Not bad, right?" Lu Heng asked with a smile.
"Not bad? It's absolutely perfect! It suits me so well!"
Navia said earnestly, "Thank you so much. Without you, I wouldn't even dare dream of owning such a mecha!"
"Enough of that—it gets old after a while," Lu Heng waved her off, grinning. "It was just waiting among countless cards for the right person to draw it. And you happened to be that person."
"Ah..." Navia smiled, feeling like her luck today had been extraordinary.
"It's past noon," Lu Heng remarked, checking the time.
"Oh!"
Navia hadn't noticed until now—lunchtime had come and gone.
She apologized sheepishly, "Sorry for taking up so much of your time."
"Drop the formalities," Lu Heng chuckled. "Besides, it's not like you were wasting my time. I wanted to see the mecha in action too. You might not understand... but regardless of its power, just its appearance alone—it's hard for any man to resist."
"Absolutely!" Silver nodded vigorously, deeply resonating with the sentiment.
"Is that so?"
Navia was surprised. Her eyes curved into a bright smile as she said, "Actually, I can relate to that feeling too. Piloting the mecha really gets the blood pumping! If it shouted 'Combine!' when summoning, it'd be even cooler!"
"Flame Dragon Armor, combine!"—though not exactly the same, the cool factor was identical!
"Maybe you could program a voice line?" Lu Heng suggested.
"I'll look into it later!"
After a pause, Navia added, "Since we've already missed lunch, if you don't mind, we could just make something here to tide us over?"
"Got any ingredients?" Lu Heng asked.
Navia didn't answer, instead glancing at Melus and Silver.
"Eggs, sugar, almonds—I brought them all," Silver declared loudly.
That line cuts deep.
But I just happen to be able to shatter this knife.
"Rest assured, Miss, we're fully prepared!" Melus said.
"Wait just a bit, and you'll get to taste my proudest pastry skills!" Navia beamed with confidence.
"Then I'll be waiting."
If even Furina had praised her culinary talents, Lu Heng was eager to try them for himself.
