But even as the Abyss roared through him,Shadow remembered something —Eve.
The silver light in her hand.
The hope he never believed in — yet somehow craved.
With a roar that tore apart the abyssal storm he had created, Shadow tore a piece of himself away —a bloody, burning core of his soul —and threw it to Eve.
"Take it," he said. "Forge something better."
The Abyss screamed in fury as its vessel betrayed it.
But Shadow held it back.
Held the darkness inside him, even as it devoured him.
Eve caught the burning core and fell to her knees — the last living light in a world of ash.
