Kaido's words still echoed in Yuto's mind.
"She's just trying to lure you into something. Don't fall for it."
But the next few days proved Kaido wrong—or at least, that's what Yuto wanted to believe.
Reina started acting differently around him.
No longer the intimidating queen of the school, she had become someone softer.
She laughed at his jokes.
She sat next to him during lunch every day.
She even started asking about his interests, listening with genuine curiosity.
Yuto found himself… enjoying her company.
"Maybe Kaido was wrong about her."
The thought crept into his mind more often than he wanted to admit.
A Different Side of Reina?
One afternoon, after classes ended, Reina walked up to Yuto as he was packing his bag.
"Hey, want to walk home together?"
Yuto hesitated, glancing at her. Was this another trick?
Reina smiled, tilting her head slightly. "You don't trust me, do you?"
Yuto looked down, fumbling with his books. "…It's not that."
Reina sighed, then suddenly grabbed his wrist—gently, but firm enough that he couldn't pull away.
"Yuto. I swear, I'm not as bad as Kaido makes me sound."
Her brown eyes held something… sincere?
Or was that just what she wanted him to see?
Yuto swallowed, his mind a storm of emotions.
And against his better judgment, he nodded.
"Okay. Let's go."
