Chapter 8 - School Sucks

As soon as class ended and Jimmy was about to leave, the students interested in the kind offer he made during his introduction swarmed around him.

"Jimmy, are you as smart as Sheldon? If you are, I'd like your help learning more about math. I've found that, although Sheldon is smart, he's not good at teaching."

"How do you plan to help us with school assignments, if you don't mind me asking?" The one who asked this question was a girl who looked like she had a lot of money.

"Jimmy, I want you to do my homework."

Jimmy stood up, pulled out a blank notebook, and said, "I can help you with exams and do your homework, but I don't have time to teach. The homework fee is three dollars. All I'll need to help you is a full sheet written in your handwriting—it doesn't have to be brand new, just enough for me to work with."

"What about exams?"

"I charge fifteen dollars per exam. I'll only help you get a maximum of seventy percent on your grade. But depending on your current scores, we'll improve gradually so we don't raise any suspicion."

Jimmy dealt with them informally, making sure no one felt left out and without truly committing to their requests.

The fundamental principle is the "three no's": don't take the initiative, don't say no, and don't take on responsibilities you can't easily fulfill.

Several students walked and chatted, and eventually, Jimmy—accompanied by a few wealthy kids and some who promised to protect him at school—arrived at the cafeteria, which was packed with students from other classes and grades.

At a glance, you could see that everyone was eating like they'd never eaten before.

He didn't blame them—he himself couldn't remember how he ate when he was working on some of his newest inventions.

At that moment, a boy named Max approached and asked in a low voice, "How are you going to manage doing everyone's homework?"

"I have my ways. First, I'll analyze their handwriting so the assignments match their own style—common mistakes, but nothing too obvious. I'll also write them a detailed guide on how each problem was solved in case a teacher asks them something. Whether they answer well or make fools of themselves after that, that's not my problem."

Jimmy smiled politely, but that fake smile—hiding his monetary interest like a beast freshly awakened—was not noticed by anyone.

These assignments could be analyzed by Goddard, created by him, and when it came to exams, it wasn't hard to build mini microphones with glasses that had cameras to identify questions and generate answers.

The latest Goddard update allowed it to generate responses through functional analysis, creating a system that was impossible to detect and easy to use for their benefit.

"Functional analysis?" The bigger guy, who looked pretty strong, asked how they wouldn't get caught, to which Jimmy replied simply:

"Functional behavior analysis is about studying a person's behavior while taking into account their context and background. Their responses, assignments, and mistakes won't be the same because I'll analyze their specific errors and improve from there." Jimmy didn't want to bore them, but they were the ones making sure they were spending their money on the right guy.

"I don't know what you just said, but if you promise to do my homework, I'll protect you at school. Nobody will mess with you," said the big guy named Gordon, who seemed to have control over the school alongside his friend Max.

Only then did Jimmy stop to look around the cafeteria, canteen, or whatever you want to call the place where anything could happen.

Jimmy wasn't about data, but he had common sense—he knew how to survive any kind of situation, and this was one of them.

The rule every student should know is that there are silent laws that everyone follows. One of them is that people of different statuses should sit at different tables.

For example, right now, in the middle of the cafeteria, three blonde girls—young, beautiful, and confident—were sitting at the center. They seemed to have a natural glow, like the typical main characters from a famous TV show. They were the most influential figures at Medford High.

It could be said that the way these three dressed and acted dictated the fashion and "trends" throughout the entire school.

With such powerful influence, the three teenagers naturally had a strong "voice" in school and could ruin anyone's reputation if they made the mistake of crossing them.

Often, just a few casual remarks from them could determine someone's "popularity" at school—or how miserable their years in this prison would be.

So, while these three blonde girls were beautiful, they were also roses with thorns—fully capable of ruining your school life.

"Wanna eat with us?" Max asked, offering to invite him.

Jimmy didn't refuse, but replied, "No. Next time, come find me if you need my help with something I can wisely assist with."

"Cool. If anyone bothers you, just tell them you're my friend," said Gordon, who walked over to his table—one that no one had dared sit at until now.

Since Jimmy had brought his own lunch, he walked toward the cafeteria exit, looking for a quieter place—and there was no better spot than the library.
