Chapter 34 - 34

Lorrie asked in confusion, "Wife, what is his name?" It was the same question, asked by the same person.

Julie hadn't thought about it yet, but hearing Lorrie's question made her seriously consider it. After all, this name would be with him for life.

At that moment, Xiao Hei made a sound to get attention.

"Chirp, chirp," the sound rang out, and the men all looked at Xiao Hei.

Especially the three brothers, who remembered that Xiao Hei's name was also given by the wife. They couldn't help but think that the name was a bit... well...

Lorrie realized he might have made a mistake, scratching his head and avoiding eye contact, his eyes shifting nervously.

He had forgotten that his wife wasn't good at naming things, though she didn't think it was a problem.

"Leng Yi, that's your name," Julie said, looking at the man.

That man, Leng Yi, was clearly surprised by how simple the name was. He froze for a second, then returned to his usual expression.

He felt a bit helpless but didn't have the right to refuse, so he just nodded.

Julie genuinely didn't see anything wrong with the name. After all, he was the first person she bought, and the name was easy to remember, matching her surname.

Lorrie rolled his eyes secretly. He knew it.

Haven and Bailee, however, had deeper thoughts.

Both of them had complicated, almost resigned expressions, already worrying about what to do for future children.

Julie led the horse into the yard, starting to feed it hay. After the horse finished eating, she gently patted its head and tied it up.

After finishing with the horse, she went back to her room and closed the door.

She was starving, having hardly eaten anything all day.

She took out a small package of compressed biscuits from her space, opened it, and ate one pack. Only then did she start feeling a bit full.

She put the empty packaging back in the space and sat down cross-legged, beginning her practice.

Bailee was busy cooking in the kitchen, while Haven prepared a bed for Leng Yi for the night.

The three brothers were all sleeping in the same room on a kang bed, and now that Leng Yi was added, they could still fit. However, the bedding needed to be prepared separately.

Fortunately, the three brothers hadn't been idle these past few days. They had been busy cutting, sewing clothes, and making quilts.

Haven was holding the clothes he made for their wife. He had made her a purple long tunic, with a lotus flower sewn on it. It was his favorite flower, though he wasn't sure if she would like it.

He gently touched the clothes, his face full of warmth and hope.

Taking a deep breath, Haven went to Julie's door.

Julie had already sensed his approach before he arrived.

She stood up and opened the door.

He had been standing there for a while.

"Is something the matter?"

Haven hadn't expected her to open the door suddenly, and for a moment, he looked awkward. "Wife, this is the outfit we three brothers made for you. We hope you like it." He wasn't sure if she would wear it.

"You're thoughtful, thank you. If you have time, could you make me two sets of clothes from hemp fabric? The material is good, but it gets ruined when worn in the fields. I'll wear it when going out next time."

Haven felt a bit disappointed but understood her reasoning. It was his oversight.

Lorrie's voice came from the kitchen, calling, "Dinner's ready, dinner's ready." Although he didn't say it directly, everyone except Leng Yi knew he was calling for Julie.

He was still being stubborn.

He refused to call her "wife," instead either feeding her or simply stating what needed to be done.

If his wife hadn't spoiled him, he wouldn't have been able to get away with it.

Both older brothers had tried to convince him, but the younger brother was stubborn and insisted that she be the one to soften and comfort him.

For their current wife, that would be incredibly difficult.

Oh well, they just hoped that over time, the younger brother would understand more.

For now, their wife was doing fine.
