Chapter 11 - Upgraded

Keshav sat on his bed, staring at the flickering screen of his terminal. It was already late, but his mind was still racing with possibilities.

The world he had created—his very own planet—was no longer the barren place it had been upon creation. He'd already simulated the artificial sun, which now bathed the land in warm, golden light, and the trees and small ecosystem had started to develop. Rivers flowed through vast plains, and the land was beginning to feel alive. However, something still gnawed at him.

"I can't just leave it as a bunch of plants and soil. I need intelligent life. But what kind of species should I create?"

Keshav thought back to the memories he had inherited from the previous body owner. There was a wealth of knowledge about creation, but intelligent life? The memories offered only a brief outline of the process but left the specifics to him.

His fingers drummed on the surface of the bed as he stared at the holographic map of his world, a spherical planet with a diameter of 12,486 km. The artificial sun now hung in the sky, providing light and warmth.

The first creatures had already taken root in the soil, but now, Keshav needed something more—something sentient.

He couldn't help but recall some of the fantasy novels and games he'd loved back in his previous world.

"Should I make humans? Or maybe something more unique? I could go with fantasy races—elves, dwarves, or something entirely different... Something I create from scratch, like a race that can adapt to this world's environment. But then, what will their culture be like? What role will they play?"

As he sat, lost in thought, Keshav's eyes flickered to the System's Status Panel again, and a small, calculated decision bubbled up from his past experiences in gaming.

---

[Status Panel]

Host Name: Keshav Garg

Energy Reserves: 14 EP

Energy Creation Rate: 1 Energy / 2 Hours

World: Opened

System Abilities:

[Energy Creation]

[Scan]

[Transfer]

[Storage]

[Shop]

---

Keshav's eyes narrowed. The Energy Creation ability was useful, but it was slow. His world's progress—his own progress—depended on the rate at which he could create resources. He had a gut feeling that Resource generation was one of the most important factors when it came to managing a world. The quicker he could generate Energy Points (EP), the faster he could develop everything.

Without hesitation, Keshav tapped on the [Energy Creation] upgrade option.

---

[Energy Creation Upgrade]

Upgrade Cost: 10 EP

Effect: Doubling energy creation rate.

---

He confirmed the upgrade.

---

A soft hum filled the air as the System processed the transaction.

[System Notification!]

> "Energy Creation ability upgraded. New Energy Creation rate: 1 Energy / 1 Hour."

---

Keshav felt a sense of relief. That was much better. The time it took to generate EP was now halved, which meant he could start expanding his world faster. But now, he had to think carefully about the next steps. He glanced at his terminal again.

"The sun is in place, the ecosystem is growing, but I need to decide what to do with these resources. I need an intelligent species to help shape this world, to guide its progress. Should I make a race that's already smart? Or should I create a species that has to evolve? I could design a species from scratch... That would be fun."

As Keshav mulled over the possibilities, he found himself growing increasingly excited. The power to shape a species was a terrifying responsibility, but it also felt exhilarating.

He had to make sure the intelligent species he created could utilize the resources around them efficiently. Otherwise, his world might stagnate.

"Alright," Keshav thought, "Maybe I'll make a species with a higher connection to nature. They can harness the sun's energy in unique ways. Perhaps something like a plant-based humanoid? Or a species with an affinity for magic?"

He had no clear answers yet, but he was certain of one thing:

He couldn't waste time.

[System POV]

As Keshav mulled over his choices, i noticed that when keshav upgraded his energy creation, at the same time the energy creation i had given to unconscious soul also upgraded without any consumption from me. Then as i dug deeper in my abilities using [Calculate] i got to know that original ability is with me, even if i lend my ability, i lend just a copy of it. When keshav used his EPs i transferred the EP to original ability in me and all copies of same ability upgraded with it. When i got to know it i was feeling very happy and it is overpowered, i am looking forward to it. But this discovery also confused me as if i still have my original ability than why do only keshav's ability create Energy not mine, it is on my 'need to find' list.

The System then continued to scan both worlds, quietly observing the changes.

It had already detected several key differences between Keshav's world and the world formed by the unconscious soul.

In Keshav's world, everything was progressing normally. The artificial sun had been absorbed into the environment perfectly, providing the necessary energy for the planet. But the real anomaly was in the world of the unconscious soul. The System's scans picked up on strange, erratic patterns.

---

The world of the unconscious soul was rapidly evolving, but not in the expected way. The System, utilizing its Calculation Ability, divided its focus between scanning the two worlds.

Unlike Keshav's world, where the growth was steady and controlled, the world of the unconscious soul was far larger than expected — it was a Titan-Class world, filled with flickering forests and sporadic energy bursts.

"This shouldn't be happening..." The System was perplexed. "The absence of a consciousness should have left this world barren, but instead... it's creating a rich ecosystem that's flickering in and out of existence."

The System continued its observation, noting that the time flow in this chaotic world was also warped. When parts of the world disappeared, they would reappear, but time had continued to pass normally in those sections. This was a feature that had never been encountered before.

---

[System made a note]

> "The unconscious soul world is anomalous. Potential for accelerated development detected. Further research is required."

---

While the System was not ready to reveal this information to Keshav, it took careful note of every oddity. The mysterious nature of the unconscious soul's world and its growing potential was something it could exploit in the future. After all, the System had its own plans for both worlds, and the development of life in both was critical.

---

[Back to Keshav]

Keshav stretched and yawned as he glanced at the clock — it was getting late. The excitement of the day had drained him, but his thoughts still lingered on the possibilities. Tomorrow, he'd have to create a species, but the exact nature of that species was still unclear.

"Tomorrow, I'll think of something," he murmured, sinking back into the bed.

"Maybe I'll create something that can evolve... or something that will thrive in the in my world... Who knows?"

Keshav closed his eyes, but the possibilities swirled around in his mind like a whirlwind.
