Mark flipped through the thick journal, finishing the story of Black Rhino Borar Tori. The log revealed so much:

Roger reaching Laugh Tale, claiming the title of Pirate King, then surrendering and being executed by the Marines in Loguetown.
Shiki's rampage at Marineford, ending with his capture by Garp and Sengoku, and his imprisonment in Impel Down.
From this, Mark could piece it together—the current year was still Sea Circle Calendar 1500. The Pirate King Gol D. Roger had just died, likely before August. The bloodstains in the log made it clear—Borar Tori was already dead, and his ship was in ruins.
Which meant... there were still twenty-two years before Monkey D. Luffy set sail.

Author's Notes:
People online always say Luffy set sail in Sea Circle Calendar 1520, but official sources confirm Roger died in 1500. When Luffy and crew reached Sabaody, Rayleigh told them Roger had turned himself in twenty-two years ago. So really, Luffy's journey began in 1522, and the time skip puts them in 1524. That's the real timeline.
