Chapter 1 - Chapter One

She's dead. Gone. Mother Elizabeth was Gone.

Mother Elizabeth was the nun in charge of the Holy Patronage orphanage home. She, assisted by other nun, took care of homeless kids that were brought in time to time. She loved them like they were her own children and of course the kids also loved her because most of them have never known what it felt like to be lived by someone since most of them were abandoned kids, victims of abuse or absent parents. They saw her as a mother.

Most of the kids when they were brought in were depressed and mentally unstable as a result of their background. However, when they got to know Mother Elizabeth, the angek sent by God, as most children called her, they started regarding her as their mother, father and sister at the same time. In her they found everything they've never had or felt before, happiness.

Now she's dead. Murdered. Never coming back. She was killed. Stabbed to death. The kid who found her dead had quickly spread the news. Everyone in the orphanage were horrified and heartbroken. They were all wailing loudly.

Some of the kids were angry, their blood hot with anger, swearing within them to punish whoever did it. Fun fact; they seemed to know who did it.

" She killed her", Hannah l, a 12 year old girl said amidst sobs.

" If the cops won't punished her, I will strangled hee to death" another kid, Samuel said.

The kids gathered at the murder scene, all being comforted by the other nuns who were also sobbing.

The body had already been covered. One of the nuns, Martha, had called the police and they had sent a forensic team in first before they actually came themselves. The kids were kept back by the yellow and black restriction tape that the copa used in surrounding the crime scene and it read " Keep Off"

The murder suspect, a little girl of age 16 named Lucy, as claimed by everyone, was being driven away in the cop's car. She was handcuffed. She didn't even resist. Her mind was dead. She couldn't say a word. She looked like she had just seen her worst nightmare in reality.

She was found this morning in the murder scene with a bloodstained knife in her hand, which presumably she had used to kill her, kneeling beside the body, sobbing quietly. There was blood everywhere. Hannah was the one who saw this scene and quickly reported to one of the nuns.

When Hannah saw Lucy, she gasped in shock and quickly covered her mouth. She started shaking. Lucy turned back and saw her, Hannah ran away in fear. She was crying loudly. Lucy didn't move an inch.

As she was being driven away in the cops car, she kept repaying the incident all over again in her head.

" I didn't kill her", she started mumbling, " I did stab her but I did not kill her. She was already dead when I found her. She was killed by someone else. I didn't kill her"

The lady cop, Veronica Martins, who was sitting next to her, didn't notice this as she kept blabbering about unwell surprised she was at the incident.

" It's been a while since I last heard of a homicide committed by a child" she was talkng to her colleague who was driving the car, Barry James.

" Kids nowadays are getting so wild. She's just 16 and she's killed someone" she spat pit the window in disgust.

" if I was the judge, ain't giving her one more day to kill another person. Starlight to heaven mama"

" I didn't kill her" Lucy mumbled again.

" jokes apart, I wonder why she did it. Last Elizabeth was such a nice person. Gad bless her soul."
