I turned to Spider-Man, who was getting up from the rubble. "Are you alright, Spider-Man?"
Spider-Man looked at the very beautiful lady who had just dealt with Rhino. He chuckled softly and got up. "Yeah, I'm fine."
I smiled, watching him rub his head. "That's good to know. I'm Rimuru Tempest."
Spider-Man smiled back, offering his hand. "Nice to meet you!" He shook my hand firmly. "You're really powerful. Are you a new hero?"
I chuckled awkwardly at how excited he seemed. "I guess you could say that."
He nodded quickly, finally letting go of my hand. Then he turned to Rhino, taking a file from the ground and opening it. Inside was a bunch of information about building a nuclear power bomb.
"This is bad... No way Rhino could come up with this plan himself."
I walked closer, my mask still on. "Is that so? You think he might be working with someone else?"
Spider-Man nodded softly. "I need to find out who." He looked up at me. "Wanna help? You're strong — we could be our own Avengers!" He chuckled.
I couldn't help but laugh a little. This was Peter Parker — still the same childish attitude. "Of course. We should start by asking Mr. Rhino over there," I said, pointing at Rhino.
I approached the beaten villain. "Rhino, who are you working with?"
Rhino scoffed. "Why the hell would I tell you anything, huh?"
I kept my tone calm and collected. "So you are working with someone," I said.
Spider-Man walked closer, his tone dropping lower. "I think I might have an idea who he's working with."
I turned to him and nodded. "Who?"
Spider-Man sighed. "Only one guy smart enough — and crazy enough — to try something like this. Doctor Octopus."
I sensed Rhino's heart rate spike — confirming Spider-Man's guess. "Octopus, huh? If he's building something that dangerous, we'll have to keep an eye on him."
I took out a small slip of paper with my number on it. "Here — call me if you need help."
I turned to leave but paused. "Oh, and by the way... I'm a guy."
With that, I flickered away, leaving Spider-Man frozen.
I could hear him scream behind me. "WHAT?!"
He stared after me, shocked. "I was tricked!" He chuckled awkwardly to himself, still stunned.
Time Skip: 2 Weeks Later
It's been two weeks, and a lot has happened. Spider-Man and I have been working together to track down Octopus. It's clear that whatever he's building is extremely dangerous — and he's been keeping us busy by sending villain after villain to distract us.
Most recently? Sandman.
Flashback: Fight Against Sandman
A massive fist of sand slammed into me, sending me crashing through a building. I saw Sandman grab Spider-Man like a ragdoll and throw him into another building.
I got up, dusting myself off, and looked at the growing Sandman. I touched my earpiece. "Spider-Man, keep him busy! I'll shut him down!"
His voice answered immediately. "Got it!"
Spider-Man swung into action, hurling rocks and streetlights at the giant sand creature — but it barely even noticed. Sandman roared, covering half the city with a tidal wave of sand, forming a giant sand hand to smash Spider-Man.
Spider-Man barely dodged, flipping up onto a building.
I shot up into the sky at supersonic speed, reaching the clouds in seconds. I flipped in midair and dove straight down.
Water Magic: Water Tsunami!
But instead of shooting it, I manipulated it — spinning the water into a spiraling, focused ball.
The ball spun at near-light speed.
Taking a breath, I dove faster — Water Ball Rasengan! I smashed the attack straight into Sandman's core.
BOOM!
The sonic boom shattered windows across the city. Sandman's body scattered — sand flying everywhere, washed away by the force of the impact.
I landed calmly as the dust settled.
Spider-Man swung over, landing beside me.
"Wow! You're amazing, dude! The Spider-Team is unstoppable!"
I rolled my eyes at him. Of course he named the team after himself.
"We should keep looking for Octopus," I said seriously. "Whatever he's planning... it's not good."
Spider-Man nodded solemnly. "Yeah... and Sandman will definitely come back sooner or later."
Present Time: Rimuru's Hotel
After the Sandman fight, things have been quiet for a week. No leads on Octopus.
Sitting on my hotel bed, I asked quietly: "Great Sage, how far is the progress on unlocking my Demon Lord form?"
Meanwhile, I knew the X-Men were still hunting me.
POV Switch: X-Men
Jean Grey sat down at the meeting table, watching footage of the Sandman fight. She smiled slightly. "See? I told you. He's not evil."
Wolverine narrowed his eyes at the screen. "I wouldn't wanna be on the wrong side of that attack," he muttered, lighting a cigarette.
Cyclops, arms folded, watched silently. "We still have to make sure he doesn't kill anyone else," he said coldly. "The mission stands."
He got up and walked out of the room without another word.
Jean frowned. "Why are you so determined to catch him, Cyclops? He only killed to protect himself."
Cyclops turned back briefly. "No, Jean. He killed out of hatred. He could've just knocked him out. Murder is still murder."
He left.
Storm placed a hand on Jean's shoulder. "Don't worry, Jean. We're not just going to capture him. We're going to help him too."
Jean nodded silently. She didn't know why... but she wanted to understand Rimuru more. To see him.
POV Switch: Rimuru
I stepped out of the shower, towel around my waist, long silver-blue hair dripping water.
I walked to the bed to grab another towel when— Notice: Mana Sense — Five armed individuals detected.
I froze. I let my guard down.
Sighing, I turned toward the door. "I know you're there," I called out.
Green lasers lit up the room — aimed at my chest and head.
Men in black tactical suits stepped in, surrounding me. And at the center — a red-haired woman in black clothing, calm and deadly.
Natasha Romanoff. Black Widow.
She pointed her gun at me.
"Don't move, Rimuru Tempest."
I widened my eyes slightly, hiding my surprise.
"And what do you want, Miss?" I asked coolly. "You can't just barge into my hotel pointing guns."
"You know why we're here," she said evenly. "You're the White Mask hero. Spider-Man's new partner."
I kept my expression calm, chuckling softly. "I wish. I just dyed my hair — I'm a fan."
Natasha didn't buy it. "You arrived in this city on April 3rd. The White Mask hero appeared a few days later. We know it's you."
My golden eyes darkened. "Fine. You found me. Still doesn't explain why you're here."
She tossed a paper at me — a dossier. Inside: details about the Purifiers. The men I had killed. The ones who caged and tortured me.
"Fury wants a word," Natasha said coldly. "You're coming with us."
I looked up, my aura darkening. "I refuse."
In an instant, I summoned my katana — and they opened fire.
Notice: Those bullets are special — they can hurt you.
Pain. Real pain. I fell to my knees, coughing up blood — my healing already kicking in.
"Damn," I muttered, staggering back up.
Natasha stayed calm, her gun trained on me. "You're coming either peacefully... or unconscious."
I wiped blood from my mouth and raised my katana.
"I refuse both."
They fired again — This time, I used my mana sense to dodge everything. In a blur, I sliced off a soldier's arm. Slashed another cleanly in half. Grabbed the third by the gun and threw him out the window.
I turned back to Natasha.
"At the end of the day... you're just humans."
She didn't flinch. Two shots — I blocked them easily.
She spun into a powerful kick, knocking my sword away. She side-kicked me into a wall.
I got up, raising my fists into a fighting stance.
We rushed at each other — trading punches and kicks.
She dodged skillfully, landing precise strikes. I cursed inwardly — fighting hand-to-hand in just a towel wasn't ideal.
She flipped in midair — a spinning double kick slammed into my chest.
I grabbed my towel and quickly used Creation Magic — A knife appeared in my hand. I threw it — she dodged — And in the same second, I created pants and flared my mana.
The blast sent her flying through two walls.
I dashed after her — but she had already disappeared.
I stood there, frustrated. "Great. Now S.H.I.E.L.D. is after me."
My wings burst out, and I shot into the night sky.
As I flew, my earpiece buzzed.
Spider-Man: "Rimuru, I found him! Doc Ock! Meet me at the docks!"
I changed course immediately — heading for the next battle.
