Wie Wuxian awakes to the warmth of fire. The heat from it wrapping him in comfort like a suffocating blanket, but it was the sharp pain that made him awake. His chest, his limbs, everything ached like a thousand blades stabbing his flesh.
He looked around, his mind still dizzy. The walls were rough-hewn Stone, simple, modest.
The atmosphere filled with herbs and plants.
He was in a commoner home.
"How did I get here?" he thinks to himself trying to recover his thoughts.
"Don't move too much" a soft and gentle voice warns.
It was the girl. Tending to a small flame, her movements calm despite his obvious unrest.
"Why have you brought me here?" his commanding commanding, aggressive, yet not above a whisper.
"I saw you dying out there and decided to save you." the girl said as she was stirring a pot of broth.
then she stands up and takes a few herds and slowly approaches him.
"I demand you to tell me where-" he commanded his voice now louder but before he could finish a pain in his chest interrupts him.
"Settle down don't hurt yourself, you're already hurt" she says.
"You're lucky I found you when I did. If I hadn't, you would've drowned in that river".
Wei Wuixians felt annoyed by her. He hated being In a position of weakness.
"The river?" He thinks to himself as flashes of the incident go through his mind.
"I would have survived that, I've fought tougher opponents"
She raised an eyebrow, her lips turning into a faint smile.
"You can't fight a river, no matter how strong you think you are."
"Who do you think your talking to peasant?"
He roared, clenching his fist with annoyance but the girl shows no signs of negative emotions.
She only sat next to his bed and readies the medicine
"Watch your tounge, you'll get into trouble with that type of attitude"
This only raises Wie Wuxians temper more. His hands now a fist, his entire body tense.
He pushes her away spilling the herds to the ground.
Wei Wuxian stared at her for a long moment, feeling annoyed that he'd realize he now is indebted to a peasant.
"I never asked for your help. You are merely a no one and you dare say those words-".
Then as she slowly stands up she interrupts him
"I am no no one nor a peasant , I am as human as you and any other"
She says her voice more firm, her posture more upright.
It Seems like his pride slowly ate her patience.
"I'm Lone Lee" she says her arms crossed her expression that commands respect.
But Wie Wuxian on scoffs at her as he slowly turns his view to where he kicked her
A silence follows as rain slowly falls, water creeping in from the ceiling, the cold breeze of the rain fills the room.
Then suddenly Lone Lee speaks up, her tone more calm and recollected
"your a strange man" she says
"Strange? Your the fool that saved a stranger" he protest
"I could have been a murderer yet you overlook this, the only strange one is you" he follows
"Is that your way of thanking me?" She asks a small smirk on her face
"I don't care who you are or where you came from, I just don't let people die" she says a prideful look in her eyes.
Her words genuine and true only fed Wie Wuxians annoyance
"This damn woman" Wie Wuxians curses her in his mind.
Then seeing as he would not accept her help she picks up the herbs and sweeps the medicine.
She glances at him for a while then murmurs "Eat and get some rest" in a more quite tone.
Lone Lee then closes the door shut leaving him to himself.
Then a complete silence of the night follows.
crickets chirps, the sounds of ruffled leaves outside as the cold wind blows. Such a peaceful environment. In contrast
Wie Wuxian annoyance and anger steams through his body.
His breath deepening and his body tense.
He wanted to beat the woman himself.
"Who does she think she is?" He thinks to himself.
He'd would rather die than accept the help of a peasant.
His anger and annoyance kept him awake the entire night.
His stomach screaming with hunger and his throat dry.
But the bowl of broth was left to turn cold.
Why should he accept help, he is the Battle God, not some helpless child.
The girls help meant nothing to him.
But then as the night continues, he's thoughts wander as he sits there, the sound of crackling fire and the scent of wasted broth fill the room.
He thinks to himself
But he wouldn't be in this situation if he was stronger.
If only he was stronger he wouldn't be forced to accept some commoners help.
He thought dwell on those emotions for a second, replaying every part of it, what could have have done, what should have he done.
Then a sudden surge of anger flows through his mind
It's not his fault
No, he isn't at fault.
"If only my body wasn't at this state that river would have been nothing."
"I didn't need her help I could have survived that river"
Then his eyes turn murderous, his teeth gritted as he remembers a familiar face
"That bastard.."
"Nuxian Woo"
Remembering his smirk, how he'd use cowardly tactics to get better of him opponents.
Such behaviour sickens Wie Wuxian as a murderous aura flows through his body.
"They may have taken victory today, but I'll take there lives in return"
