Chapter 2 - Konoha Hospital

"Leave Chinatsu to me—what about you?" Renge caught Chinatsu from Ishiki's back, her eyes narrowing with worry at the blood streaked across his forehead.

"I'm fine."But even as he said it, Ishiki wiped a hand across his brow—coming away with a palm full of blood.

Renge leaned in, examined him. Most of the blood seemed to be splatter—no visible wound.

She exhaled faintly. "Hang in there. Let's get out of here first."

She hoisted Chinatsu in her arms and took off toward Konoha Hospital, her steps swift and sharp.

As they ran, Ishiki saw it all—the scorched wreckage of buildings, the corpses crushed beneath rubble. Some survivors hobbled toward the hospital, dragging the injured with them. But they were the minority.

Most were screaming—wailing—or running blindly, scrambling to escape the Nine-Tails' rampage.

Ishiki had prepared himself for this world. For what it meant to be here.

But seeing it—breathing in the burnt air, stepping over the dead—still struck something different in his chest.

No time to dwell.

Under Renge's guidance, they reached the perimeter of the hospital.

It was chaos.

The area swarmed with patients and med-nin. Some worked triage. Others shouted for bandages or chakra infusions.

As soon as they arrived, another medical-nin ran over. Renge passed off the now half-stabilized Chinatsu to a nurse, then grabbed Ishiki's hand and dragged him into the building.

"Ishiki, the hospital's shorthanded," she said as she inspected his body, rapid and efficient. "You'll help here."

"Got it."His wounds were just scrapes—superficial. Not even worth wasting chakra on.

Ishiki didn't mind. Before passing Chinatsu over, he had already reinserted her memory disc into her head.

He wanted to see: Would just the memory disc be enough to bring her back?

If not, then he'd restore the ninjutsu disc as well.

In theory, losing a Stand disc meant a vegetative state—it was tied to one's soul, after all. But the ninjutsu disc didn't feel like that. It felt more like a specialized skill module—knowledge without the spirit.

Besides, he wasn't returning it yet because he needed it. Chakra control was still new to him. He couldn't afford to stumble now.

This world—the shinobi world—was no utopia.

If Ishiki wanted to live here, thrive here, he had to rely on himself.

And on the way to the hospital, he'd noticed something critical:Even though he was using Chakra thanks to Chinatsu's disc, his body had begun learning. Muscle memory forming, mind adapting. Soon he wouldn't need the disc at all.

So why not take this further?

Why not… harvest more ninjutsu discs from other patients?

And not just those—memory discs could grant knowledge. Secrets. Tactics. Intel.

Most importantly, extracting a disc didn't just take from the wounded—it could help them. The process put the body into stasis. It dulled pain. It bought time.

In this moment, time was life.

His only fear: would someone notice Whitesnake?

And if they did… how would he explain?

BOOM.

Another distant explosion rattled the air.

Renge didn't release his hand until they were deep inside the hospital. Only then did she stop.

It made sense now—why Konoha Hospital had felt so familiar earlier. He'd spent much of his previous life here. Because of Renge. She was family after all.

She tossed him a set of emergency attendant scrubs, and while Ishiki changed quickly, Renge sprinted off toward a cluster of patients.

Once dressed, Ishiki joined the fray.

Cleaning wounds. Applying salve. Bandaging. These weren't complicated. And between his memories and instincts, he adapted fast.

The hospital was pandemonium.Far-off blasts still echoed.More wounded flooded in every minute—many dumped right at the door.

And when he approached those near death, Ishiki didn't hesitate.

He used CPR as a cover—placing his hands on a patient's chest—then triggered Whitesnake, which flickered into existence for a split second, striking the target with surgical precision.

The disc ejected.Ishiki caught and concealed it instantly.

The process was seamless. Invisible to anyone not watching with full attention.

Still, he played it safe. He only acted on patients left unattended, overlooked in the chaos.

Fortunately, the hospital was a storm of motion. No one paid attention to a low-ranking assistant.

And as the hours crawled by, something strange happened:

The battle outside… fell silent.

No more distant explosions. No more quakes.

But more patients kept coming—bloodied, broken, burned.

Ishiki worked non-stop.He didn't have time to even inspect the memory discs.Whenever a med-nin picked up a patient he'd "resuscitated," he silently slipped the memory disc back in.

But the ninjutsu discs—those he kept.

They started piling up.

By the time he'd collected twenty, he had to sneak into a hospital bathroom and stash them in the ceiling tiles.

When dawn finally broke, he was too drained to think about collecting more.

Renge saw him slumped against a wall and immediately told him to find somewhere to rest.

He returned to the bathroom, retrieved the hidden discs, and climbed to the hospital rooftop.

Up there—above the frenzy—he found a quiet corner and laid the discs out one by one.

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu.Fire Style: Phoenix Fire Jutsu. All Fire Release? Looks like this one was a Uchiha…"

His eyes widened.

"…Wait. Even Kekkei Genkai like the Sharingan can appear on a disc?"

Curiosity flared in his chest.

Immediately, he summoned Whitesnake, extracted Chinatsu's ninjutsu disc from his own head, and without hesitation, inserted the Uchiha's disc.

The moment it slid in—A heat surged behind his eyes.

Then, the world… changed.

Everything sharpened. He could see farther. Clearer.Even birds flying in the distance slowed slightly when he focused on them.

"So this is the Sharingan…"

He wondered what stage he'd unlocked—one tomoe? Two? Three?

But his gaze drifted downward—to the other discs cradled in his lap.

The Uchiha wasn't the only one he'd harvested. And not all the discs… were Fire Release.
