Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Coffee Shop By The Window

Never aging was quite the hassle. Every few years Anna had to travel to a new place to avoid suspicion.

Taking a sip of her dark chocolate frappé, Anna thought back to how long it had been.....perhaps too long...

The Sun's glare brought her out of her state of melancholy. She reached down to take the rugged leather bag; taking out a packet of tomato juice, she pushed a straw in it. Taking a long sip and then suckling slowly.

Looking around, no one truly cared as to why she was drinking tomato juice with a chocolate frappe. This was humans for you. They always had a logical explanation inside their heads and if something didn't match with their logic they deemed it a myth.

Anna lightly smirked. Humans....ah...what an interesting species. Even if she were to draw her fangs out and walked to every single person in the box-shaped room, claiming that she was a vampire, they would only give her strange looks and she would only end up in a mental asylum. Lightly laughing at her own joke. She brought the straw to her mouth.

Feeling a strange stare on her she looked out the window.

When her eyes met with the stranger, he simply looked at her guised blood bag. His eyes looked back up to her eyes. Giving her an amused smile he left along with the morning crowd, crossing the road on a red light.

Anna took a deep breath trying to catch his scent. By the knowing look, he was sending her, he was definitely not a mere human.

Anna wrinkled up her nose. All the different scents causing her to lose focus. Shaking her head clear, she squeezed up the rest of the juice into her mouth before discarding the empty packet in the trash can. Picking up her frappe with one hand and carrying her backpack on the other, she left the coffee shop to start house hunting.
