Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 : These little wishes of mine

The goddess of reincarnation sat there in silence playing on her Hello Kitty phone whilst she waited for his decision.

(* - characters thoughts)

The boy hovered in the air and began to think to himself.

*I have three wishes , and I'll be damned if I don't make them count. Let's think about what I want to do with my new life. First I want to be a musician, not just any musician but the greatest of all time. I want to use my music to share my feelings and create miracles.*

"Goddess, I want a system dedicated to making me the greatest musician in the multiverse, the boy said to the goddess, which caused her to look at him with a deadpan expression.

"You want a system?" Her eyebrows cocked up, and she tapped on her phone a couple of times, picked up a pair of oversized glasses and began to read.

"I hate systems; they just make the MC overpowered. I mean, why can't they just work hard without shortcuts? It would make the story much more meaningful."

"Systems are so cliché; can't you be more creative? I mean, the novel's great and all, but the system just destroys the whole concept."

"Another system ... lazy, uncreative author. 'Sigh.' I guess I'll just put up with it."

"Sound familiar?" The goddess asked with a massive grin on her face as she gazed at the boy.

"..... I may or may not have commented those on some certain novels, and I may or may not have indirectly called systems cliche and trashy. HOWEVER, I mean, who can argue with the classic formula that MC + System = Overpowered?" The boy visibly looked proud of himself as he uttered such garbage out of his mouth.

*The great mage Merlin once said, If you are shameless and thick-skinned, you are invincible.* The boy calmly recited the sutra in his head, trying to hide his embarrassment.

"Granted, you have two wishes left; think wisely." The goddess then looked down at her phone with a sigh and silently opened Honour of Kings and went to the jungle with Zhang Fei to the delight of her teammates.

*Okay, the system has been granted. Now we need to think hard about the other two wishes. I mean, I can't be as uncreative as a system, right?*

*Let's see what I have always wanted.* The boy thought long and hard until a single word popped into his head.

*Friend, I want a friend who will like me for me and forever stay by my side so I won't be lonely anymore.* Suddenly a certain blue slime came to mind; I was always jealous of him.

"Goddess, I want the ultimate skill, Raphael , that Rimuru Tempest has." The goddesses instantly looked at me with shock, wondering if there was something wrong with my brain.

"I said no omnipotence; Raphael is literally a skill that makes you virtually omnipotent. I mean, it knows everything and lets you grasp the laws of the world."

"Sigh , worth a shot, I guess. Then I want a great sage instead; that should be okay, right? I mean, it's OP but not too OP that it's unreasonable."

"Granted" The goddess continued to look at her phone. If the boy had looked, he would have been amazed and given her a thumbs up. It showed a remarkable record of 7 minutes into the game, 0-19, and a variety of curse words filling the screen by her lovely teammates.

"As for my final wish, I don't even need to think about it. I want to travel between different worlds, you know, like the ones I've seen in anime and novels."

"You wished for a system that makes you the greatest musician in the MULTIVERSE; the ability to travel worlds is already built into your system; you just have to let your fame in that world reach a certain level to unlock different worlds."

The boy fell silent, and he began to think again of what he required; he had a system and an OP friend that would never leave him. What else did he require?.

After ten minutes , the floating light spoke, "Immortality, I want to have a body that is free of disease , never ages and is remarkably hard to kill."

"Granted, although I do hope you don't regret that choice; after all, some say immorality is a curse." The goddess looked at me with a serious expression for the first time since I had arrived.

"You know that's just nonsense made up by others because they're jealous of not being immortal, plus who wouldn't want to stay young forever?"

Suddenly we both stared at each other , then we both burst out laughing. "Yes, you're right; however, you're no fun. Some reincarnated give up immortality foolishly due to that warning," remarked the goddess in a playful voice.

The goddess then crossed her legs, put down her phone and began to get serious.

"Anyway, to sum up your wishes, you want a great sage, a system that helps you to become the greatest musician in the multiverse and an immortal body that never ages."

"That's correct," the floating orb nodded sagely. *I've made the best use of my wishes I can think of.*

Suddenly the goddess burst into tears and began to cry. She shouted to the sky, "FINALLY SOMEONE NORMAL TO REINCARNATE."

The floating orb stared in shock as the goddess began to hug him, whispering her thanks repeatedly.

The floating orb quickly backed away after all boys need to protect themselves. "Are you okay?" the boy finally asked.

"Do you know what I've been through? Isekaing someone used to be so simple; just give them an OP ability and send them on their way. Recently we switched to a wish system to better let reincarnators fulfil their regrets. However, the flaw is they can wish for anything within a reasonable range. Do you know what the last guy wished for? HE WANTED TO BE A VENDING MACHINE. Do you know how hard it is to turn a human into a fucking vending machine? DO YOU?" The goddess kept crying as she poured out her grievances.

The floating orb was shocked at this revelation but quickly thought it was normal. *That explains it , divine intervention. I knew that shit wasn't something a human brain could come up with.*

"There, there. Everything's going to be alright. At least I'm normal; maybe this is a sign you won't have to deal with those weirdos anymore." The boy remarked, which caused the goddess to stop crying , her childish eyes filled with newfound hope.

"Okay, now that your wishes are in place, you have to design the body you want to be reincarnated into , then spin the wheel to decide your race and the first world you're going to be reincarnated into, and don't worry, you will be transported at the age you set for your new body. You don't have to wear nappies again; that would be disgusting."
