Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: New Construction on the Foundations

As Luke laid the foundations of the Lord's House and began constructing the first buildings of the village, his mind was already filled with plans for the future. With the foundations in place, things would now progress much faster. The system was providing him with new tasks, but Luke saw them merely as tools; each one was a vital building block for the future of his village.

First, Luke received an update on the basic construction work in the village. It was now clear that skilled villagers were no longer required for each new structure. Instead, only basic materials would be sufficient. This was a significant development, as it would allow things to move along much more quickly. The required materials for each new building were now specified, and tasks could be handled by the local villagers.

Luke focused on the new tasks provided by the system. His first priority was to gather the materials for the construction of important structures like the Blacksmith, Tailor, Storage Depot, and Barracks. Additionally, homes for the NPCs had been specified. This would speed up the growth of the village, enhancing the efficiency of the NPCs in their assigned roles.

[System Message]

New Tasks:

Blacksmith Workshop Construction

Tailor Workshop Construction

Storage Depot Construction

Barracks Construction

Villager Homes Construction

Required Materials:

Blacksmith Workshop: 50 Wood, 30 Stone

Tailor Workshop: 40 Wood, 20 Stone

Storage Depot: 100 Wood, 50 Stone

Barracks: 80 Wood, 40 Stone

Villager Homes: 30 Wood, 10 Stone (each)

"That's a lot of buildings... but it's important to move quickly," Luke thought. "For now, I'll use just the basic materials. Skilled villagers aren't necessary yet; gathering materials is more important."

With that decision made, Luke opened the system interface and checked the village's material needs. As the tasks progressed, the village's population had begun to grow slowly. However, the most significant update was related to the system's handling of the villagers. The system stated that each day, between 10 and 20 new villagers would randomly appear in the village. These villagers would be either blacksmiths, tailors, farmers, soldiers, or unskilled peasants.

The population increase in the village was becoming noticeable. Initially consisting of just a few people, the village was gradually expanding as new villagers arrived every day. Luke knew that this was a great opportunity. A growing population would not only increase production but also make the village more attractive to outsiders. This appeal would lead to an increase in trade as well as a stronger influx of new villagers.

15 new villagers... These newcomers would boost the village's workforce, but not all of them would be equally valuable. Unskilled villagers were often useless on their own, but skilled workers like tailors and blacksmiths would be invaluable assets for the village. Luke would immediately assign tasks based on the newcomers' skills and direct his plans accordingly.

His eyes then drifted to the village's development statistics. The system had started to track every aspect of the village, recording its progress.

Luke examined the map of the region where his village was located. Throughout the Northern Continent, different lords had established their villages in various areas. However, the region where Black Moon Village stood was unique. Other lords had settled in different areas of the land, and Luke knew that there was a lot of potential for expansion. He understood that there were opportunities to communicate with these other lords, trade with them, or even fight them for control of the land.

Now, the next step was to accelerate the village's growth. The foundations had been laid, but bigger constructions were now needed. The Blacksmith and Tailor workshops, when completed, would enhance both the defense and production capabilities of the village. Luke also planned to build the Barracks to increase the number of soldiers, ensuring the village could defend itself from any threats.

Selecting the right villagers each day was crucial. Each new arrival provided opportunities to improve the village's infrastructure. Skilled workers like blacksmiths and tailors would strengthen the village's economy, while increasing the number of soldiers would secure its future. Luke, patient and calculating, knew how to use every resource efficiently to ensure success.

"This is just the beginning. Black Moon Village will grow, and I will become the master of these lands," he said to himself. With his first steps in place, Luke moved forward, taking the next step toward his ultimate goal.
