Pandit Shivprasad and a few courageous locals arrived at the well in the night's darkness. There was a chill in the air, and everything was quite quiet. The wind abruptly increased in speed as they got closer to the well, and the water in it began to churn oddly.
The Well's Mysteries
The villagers exchanged anxious glances as Panditji started reciting mantras. A moist voice abruptly emerged from the well—"You believed I had vanished? No. I was always hoping for retribution.
Hearing this sent a chill down everyone's spines.
Fear in the Village
Another terrible scene greeted the people the following morning.
Gokul, who was discovered asleep in his courtyard after running away in terror the night before. His body was marked in an odd way, as though he had been scratched with nails. He had his eyes open, but they were lifeless. Fear swept over the community. Everyone was now certain that the Scarecrow had made a comeback. But how it had grown even more potent than before was the question. Historical Documents The village's oldest resident, Kashi Nath, was approached by Pandit Shivprasad. He was aware of the village's historical records and tales. "The sacrifice required to kill the Scarecrow remained incomplete," Kashi Nath remarked, pulling out an old book with shaky hands. "Ramlal had halted it, but its spirit was not fully liberated. For this reason, the Scarecrow has made a stronger comeback.
Panditji thoroughly studied the book. "That which cannot be killed must be bound," it stated. Don't burn it or collect it. Put it in jail—forever.
The Following Action
Panditji realized that the Scarecrow could not be vanquished by tantric abilities alone. It needed to be permanently bound in some way. However, how?
In a shaky voice, a local woman named Somvati stated, "I had a dream… in which Ramlal was attempting to convey to me something… perhaps that he can help us."
The villagers looked at each other. Was the village still under the protection of Ramlal's spirit? Would it be able to assist them in stopping the Scarecrow, if so?
In Part 3, we'll continue. This was the second installment of "The Scarecrow's Revenge." The story is now becoming even more complex! What did you think of this section?
