Chapter 55 - The Superior Female Lead Pampers Her Husband Without Limit 55

She took out a beautiful jade ring that she had prepared in advance. In the surprised gaze of the little servant, she slowly knelt down.

Xavi could hardly believe his eyes!

What was he seeing?

His wife!

His wife… how could she… kneel down?

His wife was a woman of noble status; how could she kneel to him?

"Wife! You… please, get up!"

Jewel, kneeling on one knee, saw that her little husband was about to lift her up immediately. She raised her hand to hold his arm and supported herself with his body.

"Don't move, Xavi. Stand still."

Xavi looked at his wife, holding a ring in her hand and speaking with such seriousness, and didn't try to lift her anymore.

Because she was holding onto his arm with such strength, he couldn't stop her.

"Xavi, we've been together for several months now.

Every day with you has made me so happy; in the coming years, I want to spend every year with you.

No matter if we are poor or rich, sick or healthy, beautiful or faded, successful or struggling, I will always love you, comfort you, respect you, protect you, and remain loyal to you with all my heart.

Xavi, will you marry me and spend the rest of your life with me?"

This was the first time Jewel spoke so seriously in front of Xavi. Each vow, which she had practiced many times in secret, came out smoothly, without a hint of unfamiliarity.

At this moment, Xavi's legs were weak, and he felt lost, but more than anything, he was shocked and moved!

Tears of joy filled his eyes because his small eyes couldn't contain the sudden happiness!

It's no wonder Xavi couldn't control his tears. After all, any man in the world would probably find it hard to remain unmoved by such a gesture from the woman he loved.

Sometimes, asking for the heartfelt promise of the person you love doesn't need to come with superior material conditions. All that's needed is for the other person to feel your pure and sincere heart.

Imagine how lucky it would be to meet someone in this world who understands you, trusts you, protects you, and cares for you everywhere!

"Xavi, why aren't you speaking?"

Why isn't he answering her?

"Yes… ugh… I will, my wife…"

From the moment he met her, he never thought of leaving…

Xavi's voice was choked with emotion as he wiped his wet face. He fought to control his feelings, and it took him great effort to say those simple words.

Jewel's eyes sparkled with joy, and her lips showed the smile of surprise.

His wife, disregarding the world's rules of women being superior to men, proposed to him. How could he not cry!

Jewel's gaze was sharp as she stretched out her right hand.

"Give me your hand."

Xavi placed his slightly damp hand into hers, watching as Jewel gently put the shiny ring on his finger. Then, she softly caressed his hand with tenderness, her lips curling up, moved like never before.

At that moment, a circle of fireworks outside the yard stopped.

Jewel stood up, tightly embraced her beloved, and kissed him on the lips. Xavi didn't pull away but slowly closed his eyes as she came closer.

This kiss was different from the first shy one.

Xavi felt the fiery heat filling his mouth!

Sometimes it was forceful, sometimes it was… exploring.

One took the initiative, the other did his best to cooperate.

By the time the kiss ended, both were breathless.

At this moment, Xavi's eyes no longer shed tears but his lips were particularly red and tender.

"Xavi, don't cry."

This marriage, I won't let you lose!

I will treat you well, for a lifetime.

Jewel gently stroked Xavi's smooth face. "Let's go and look at the fireworks lanterns outside, shall we?"

The lanterns were made with translucent cloth in various colors that Jewel had chosen, and their designs were drawn by her, capturing moments from her and Xavi's time together.

In fact, her work at the wine house and tea garden hadn't taken much of her time. After completing her own business, she spent most of her time preparing for the wedding.

The next moments were spent in warmth as Xavi and his wife reminisced about their past moments together.

Looking at the carefully painted figures on the lanterns, Xavi was pleasantly surprised.

As it turned out, Jewel, like him, treasured these moments!

"This lantern... is from the day you woke up, and we ate together as a family."

"Yes, that was the first day I saw you. What about the next one?"

"Well... it's..."

"Sweetheart, tell me~"

Jewel laughed as she watched her shy husband, unable to hold back her joy.

"It was the first time... I shared a bed with you."

Jewel didn't hide her affection for him, and with a smile, she leaned in, "You're right, that's your reward."

...

"This one shows Xavi eating candied chestnuts in the carriage."

"This one is from the first time you acted spoiled with me."

"Stop talking, wife…"

Xavi blushed in embarrassment.

Jewel really had no shame, putting all those moments on the lanterns!

"Ha ha ha ha..."

Jewel's laughter echoed in the wind as they joked and laughed together, so happy.

Even the red candles in the yard swayed in the breeze, as if echoing the laughter of the two in the courtyard.

However, at that very moment!

Outside the tea garden courtyard, the fifth sister was slumped on the ground, gasping for breath.

"Ah—huh—ah—huh—"

"Ah, I'm exhausted..."

This was all because of Jewel's proposal ceremony. All eight of the wine house's waitresses, plus a few newly hired tea garden workers, had come to help.

Their task was to decorate the place with the master and wait for the signal, lighting up the fireworks once they got the signal.

These people were spread out around the yard in eight directions: east, south, west, north, southeast, southwest, northeast, and northwest.

The others were fine; they just lit the fireworks on the ground and ran. But the fifth sister had a different job. She was by the front door of the yard and couldn't just light fireworks there. If the master and his husband saw her lighting fireworks, it would ruin the atmosphere.

So she became the temporary backup person, carrying a large bag of fireworks around the courtyard's outer walls, checking if anyone needed more or if there were any issues.

She didn't expect this job to be so tough. One moment the fire went out here, the next the fireworks were running low over there…

She ran in circles, almost collapsing from exhaustion!

There were several times she almost tripped over small holes while carrying a heavy bag of fireworks…

Ah~

The difficulties she faced were better left unsaid...
