Chapter 1 - Where it all began

It was a bright winter day in the bustling city of Radom. The streets were alive with people, some rushing to their destinations while others leisurely strolled, soaking in the crisp air. Amidst the crowd was Dobroslav, a tall young man in his twenties with long blonde hair, piercing blue eyes, and fair skin. He walked with purpose, heading towards his new workplace, eager for his first day on the job. After graduating from the University of Radom, where he studied History and the Application of Oriental Martial Arts, he embarked on a career in the military as a junior combat instructor.

The military base Dobroslav was assigned to was in a remote location, about an hour's walk from his home. He didn't mind the distance; in fact, he enjoyed the walk, treating it as a warm-up for the exercises he would perform at work. As he made his way, he couldn't help but overhear the worried chatter of people around him.

"Did you see the sky last night?" one woman exclaimed to her friend. "The pink lightning is getting worse!"

"I know," her friend replied, her voice tinged with anxiety. "It's happening every day now. What do you think it means?"

Another passerby chimed in, "I heard it's some kind of atmospheric disturbance. But who knows? It's really unsettling."

Dobroslav listened to these conversations with a mix of curiosity and concern. However, he was convinced that these anomalies would eventually go away on their own and everything would return to normal.

Radom, a city with a rich history dating back to the 8th century, had seen its share of significant events. Once a fortified settlement at the crossroads of major trade routes, it grew rapidly and became an important center of administration in the Kingdom of Poland. The city had weathered many storms, but the current anomaly was unlike anything in its storied past.

The most intriguing aspect was that Radom was the only place in the world where this anomaly occurred, attracting meteorologists from around the globe to observe and study the phenomenon. These scientists were both fascinated and baffled by the pink-colored lightning.

"It's unprecedented," said Dr. Elena Kovacs, a leading meteorologist from United European Emirates. "We've never seen anything like this. The electrical activity is off the charts, and the color is completely unique."

Dr. Hiroshi Tanaka from Empire of Japan added, "We're monitoring the situation closely. The frequency and intensity are increasing, and we need to understand why."

The anomaly was not just a scientific curiosity; it was affecting daily life in Radom. People were hesitant to go out at night, businesses were adjusting their hours, and the constant lightning was disrupting electronic devices. The city's normally vibrant nightlife had dimmed, and a sense of unease hung in the air.

Adding to the mystery was a local legend that had resurfaced. According to the tale, centuries ago, Radom was home to an ancient Slavic temple dedicated to Perun, the god of lightning and thunder. The temple was a magnificent structure, adorned with carvings of storms and lightning bolts, and it was said that Perun himself blessed the city with his protection.

However, as the legend goes, the temple's priests angered Perun by neglecting their duties and allowing the sacred rituals to fall into disrepair. In his wrath, Perun struck the temple with a bolt of pink lightning, cursing the city to be haunted by the same lightning whenever the people strayed from their path.

The pink lightning, some believed, was a reminder of Perun's power and a warning to the people of Radom to honor their ancient traditions. The legend had been passed down through generations, and with the recent anomalies, it had taken on new significance.

As Dobroslav walked, he couldn't help but ponder the legend. Was there any truth to it, or was it just a story to explain the inexplicable? Either way, the pink lightning had become a part of Radom's identity, weaving itself into the fabric of the city's history and daily life.
