Chapter 3 - the wish of that night episode 3

Isabella, it's okay. Did you call the police? he asked, scanning the area for any signs of a break-in.

No, I didn't want to involve the police. I just needed you here, she said, her voice trembling as she gestured for him to come inside.

He hesitated, but the concern for her safety quickly overtook his instincts. Alright, but let's make sure everything is okay.

Isabella guided him inside, her facade effortlessly convincing. She poured a glass of water, hiding her smirk as she added a small amount of a substance. Here, drink this water. You must be stressed after driving over here.

Alexander took the glass without questioning her, trusting her as he always have. He drank deeply, hoping to help calm her down.

Isabella watched intently, holding her breath as he finished the water. Thank you for being here. I don't know what I would do without you, she said softly, moving closer.

He forced a smile, feeling a sense of comfort wash over him. 'I'll always be here for you, Isabella, just like before, he murmured, not realizing what his words truly meant.

As time went on, the atmosphere shifted. The effect of the substance took hold, and Alexander felt the tension fade away, replaced by a sense of carefree excitement. He shook his head slightly, trying to clear his mind and remember if he had truly wanted this.

Isabella saw the shift and acted. You can trust me, she said softly, stepping closer. You don't have to worry. Just let go.

Before he knew it, he found himself drawn into her embrace, igniting the familiarity of their past. The boundary he had been erecting began to crumble as the parasitic charm of Isabella took hold.

In the excitement of the moment, they fell into a rhythm that felt thrilling yet risky. As they immersed themselves in the spontaneous fun, Isabella secretly took out her phone and began recording. She had orchestrated this situation, and everything seemed to be unfolding as she had planned.

Hours later, when the haze faded and clarity returned, Alexander immediately sat up, panic flooding his senses. What have we done? he ask.

filling his voice as the gravity of the situation sank in. His heart raced as he realized what have just transpired between them, and the memories of Sophie flashed through his mind.

Oh God, what have we done? he repeated, shaking his head in disbelief. He scrambled to put distance between himself and Isabella, the guilt sinking deeper into his chest.

Isabella, feigning innocence, placed a hand on his shoulder. Alexander, please don't freak out. You were just comforting me. I needed you, and you were here. This doesn't have to mean anything, she said, her tone dripping with the false sweetness that he had fallen for once before.

But it meant everything to Alexander. This is a big mistake, he muttered, running his hands through his hair, desperate to regain control of his life. I need to call Sophie.

Wait! Isabella exclaimed, her eyes widening as she suddenly panicked a flicker of her earlier charm vanishing. You shouldn't call her right now. Just take a moment to breathe.

No, he replied firmly, anger brewing inside him. I need to be honest with her, and I need to do it now! He stood up, ready to leave, when Isabella moved quickly, closing the distance between them.

Think about what you're doing, she warned, her voice low, persuasive. You wouldn't want to ruin your own relationship, You know how sensitive she can be.

I have already ruined everything, he echoed, feeling the tightness in his chest rise to an unbearable level.

I have already ruined everything why did you need to come back to my life.

Suddenly, Isabella's demeanor shifted back to the charming ex he once knew, an unsettling calm washing over her. You don't need to involve Sophie. If you just let me enjoy this moment with you, I promise it will be our little secret.

Before he could reply, she grabbed her phone and said, 'You know what would happen if Sophie found out about our little meeting, right?' Her lips curled into a sly smile as she pressed play on the recording she had made throughout the night.

The screen lit up, and Alexander's heart sank as he saw himself, exposed and in a moment of intimacy.

Isabella, no! he said, panic rising. Please delete that.

Why would I do that? she said, I will love to send this video to Sophie, I think she would love to see and understand that she can't come between us.

so you lying to me just to bring me here and fulfill your selfish desire he said.

yes she replied casually, as she sat on the couch, reveling in her cruel victory.

You won't get away with this, he said defiantly, trembling with anger and shame. "I'll tell the truth, and I'll make this right with Sophie.

Isabella shrugged, her smile unwavering. Go ahead—try it.

In that moment, the weight of the impending fallout bore down on him. The blurred lines of trust and betrayal threatened to collapse everything he had worked so hard to build with Sophie. Panic turned to desperation as he fought against the knots in his stomach.

I can't believe this is happening to me, he breat, realizing that he might lose Sophie forever.

Alexander's heart raced, knowing he has been trapped by Isabella's manipulation.

As Isabella's smile widened, Alexander could feel the walls closing in around him. You have to accept me back into your life, Alexander, she demanded, her voice low and steady. Or I will share this video with the world. Just imagine the headlines—a loving fiance exposed for infidelity, just a few days after his engagement,

Every ounce of anger and dread surged within him. You wouldn't dare, he growled, though a part of him feared just how far Isabella would go.

Something inside him snapped. Fueled by desperation and fury, Alexander lunged forward, managing to snatch the phone from her hands before she could react. You've used this against me for too long, he said, his voice harsh and determined.

In a swift motion, he hurled the phone against the wall, watching it shatter into pieces. The sound of breaking glass felt like a cathartic release, a desperate attempt to reclaim control over his own life. Now we keep this between us, he declared firmly, staring down Isabella, who stood frozen, shock plastered across her face.

Are you crazy?' she shouted, her facade briefly breaking. 'You've ruined everything for me! Do you think this changes anything? I will make sure you regret this!

Let's be clear, Isabella, he said, his tone even, the only one who will regret this is you. If you ever show your face near Sophie or me again, I will make sure you suffer the consequences. I don't care about your threats, and I will fight you with everything I have to protect my future.

With that, he stormed out of her house, heart pounding, the adrenaline of the confrontation still coursing through him. The weight of his choices loomed large, but as he walked into the cool night air, a flicker of relief sparked within his chest. He had taken the first step to reclaiming his life.

Days turned into weeks as Alexander worked to heal the wounds left by Isabella. The mentorship program launch was a huge success, but his heart was clouded with thoughts of the past. He found solace in the love he shared with Sophie, who despite the tension created by Isabella's unexpected reappearance, supported him unconditionally.

Alexander threw himself into planning they wedding with renewed vigor. He envisioned a ceremony filled with love, laughter, and their closest friends and family. He knew he had to build a sturdy foundation to move forward, one that wouldn't just weather storms but thrive in the sunshine.

Sophie, I want you to have everything you've ever dreamed of, he said one night, as the sat together at their favorite sports, "I want our wedding to be special—a true reflection of us.

Her eyes brightened at his words, a smile spreading across her face. That means so much to me.

They began brainstorming together, pouring over inspiration boards, discussing color palettes, and laughing as they dove into the details of their new adventure. For Alexander, it was intoxicating. With each passing moment, he felt more committed to Sophie, more certain that she was the only one he wanted by his side.

Meanwhile, unbeknownst to them both, Isabella was simmering in the background. The shattered phone was just the beginning; she was not the type to be easily dismissed. Her mind raced with thoughts of revenge and how to best reclaim the life she believed was rightfully hers.

One night, Alexander sat down to work on designs for the invitations when his phone buzzed unexpectedly. Heart racing, he glanced at the screen to see an unknown number. When he answered, a familiar, voice cut through the connection.

Hello, Alexander. It's Isabella, she said, her voice dripping with honeyed menace. "I see you're busy planning your dream wedding.

Alexander felt his pulse quicken. What do you want, Isabella? He kept his tone measured, but inside, his stomach churned.

You know I like to hold people accountable. It would be such a shame for Sophie to find out just how close you were to me again… to recall those moments.
