Chapter 45 – First Rival & The Gang World of Seoul University
The next morning, Gevran showed up on campus with dark sunglasses and a jumbo-sized coffee. The chaos of the previous night still haunted his energy reserves.
While walking through the main campus park, he spotted someone standing right in the middle of the path. Neatly dressed. Sharp. Surrounded by an aura that screamed "powerful heir."
"Gevran Jido," the man said coldly, as if reading out a suspect's name in court.
"Who are you?" Gevran asked, pausing to take a sip of his coffee.
"Cain Seo-Jun. Son of Seo Myung-Ho. We have history… even if it didn't start with us."
Gevran narrowed his eyes. That name rang a bell. His father had once mentioned Seo Myung-Ho—the most dangerous political and business rival he'd ever faced.
Cain stepped closer. "This campus is small. And I promise you, your reputation will never grow larger than your last name's shadow."
Before Gevran could reply, Cain walked off like a seasoned drama actor who had rehearsed that exit for a month.
---
At the campus café, the G-Force team gathered.
Mi Yong typed rapidly on her tablet. "Cain's a model and the crown prince of a chaebol family. But rumor is… he also leads a gang called The Archers."
Jiwan's eyes lit up. "Wait, this campus has gang systems like a Japanese high school?!"
Haesung nodded. "There are five major elite groups every student at Seoul University knows."
---
Top Gangs of Seoul University:
1. Crown Circle
Final-year seniors. Elite beyond words. Rarely seen, but if they step in, it means the issue has escalated to a national level.
2. The Archers
Led by Cain. Focuses on social, political, and intellectual influence. Masters of manipulation. Impeccable image… and dangerously strategic.
3. Bloom Society
A clique of heiresses, influencers, and campus socialites. Control public opinion through media and gossip. They can make or break anyone's image.
4. White Paper Club
Academic geniuses. Debate champions, competition winners, and coding prodigies. Rumor has it they run the university's own "dark net."
5. G-Force (Newbie)
Gevran's absurd crew. No real reputation yet. But they have one thing the others don't: Chemistry and crazy ideas.
(And many more official gangs lurking around...)
---
Eunwoo slammed his laptop shut and declared,
"Bottom line, we need to level up. Make a name. And SeoulPot is going to be our first big move!"
Gevran leaned back, smiling.
"If they play with power, we play with speed.
If they rely on legacy, we use wit.
G-Force… let's build the most sane gang in a campus gone insane."
Everyone raised their coffee cups.
"G-Force, ready for revolution!"
---
That same afternoon, G-Force held an emergency "war room" meeting in the corner of the campus library—ironically, right under a Silence Please sign they collectively ignored.
Jiwan spread out a makeshift whiteboard made of old economics worksheets. "Operation: Gang Recognition begins now."
Mi Yong added, "If we want SeoulPot to succeed, we have to survive the politics of this school. Cain isn't just playing student council president—he's building an empire."
Eunwoo leaned forward. "Then we build a revolution. I say we throw an underground pop-up tasting event. One night only. Invite-only. Just enough buzz to shake the social web."
Haesung raised an eyebrow. "You mean a guerrilla launch?"
"Exactly," Eunwoo grinned. "Pop-up kitchens are trending. We find an old storage building, redecorate, serve three tasting dishes from SeoulPot's concept line."
"Three dishes," Gevran repeated, thinking. "One that evokes memory, one for ambition, and one for chaos—because why not?"
Mi Yong smirked. "I can already design the teaser campaign. Code name: Midnight Taste."
Just then, a shadow fell across their table.
Liora von Ari—the daughter of a foreign ambassador and a senior member of the Bloom Society—was standing there, iced coffee in hand.
"I heard about your little restaurant fantasy," she said, eyes sharp. "You're not planning to dethrone the Archers, are you?"
Jiwan grinned. "We don't do thrones. We build tables."
Her lips twitched slightly—either a smirk or a threat. "Interesting. Just know, Cain doesn't play fair. He hunts."
She walked away without another word.
---
Later that week, posters began appearing mysteriously across campus:
"Midnight Taste – One Night Only – RSVP Required"
No date. No location. Only a QR code.
Students whispered. Gossip channels buzzed. Even the Bloom Society's private group chat started speculating.
---
Back in the dorm that night, G-Force gathered again—this time in Jiwan's room, lit like a hacker cave.
"We've got thirty RSVPs already," Mi Yong announced.
"SeoulPot's going to start not with a bang," Jiwan said dramatically, "but with a bite."
But Gevran wasn't smiling.
He looked out the window at the campus, then said quietly,
"Cain's not just a rival. He's a test. Of who we are. Of what we're building.
Let's make this count."
Everyone fell silent.
Then raised their cans, mugs, or cups in unison.
"To SeoulPot.
To G-Force.
And to shaking up the world, one dish at a time."
