Chapter 42 – The Killer Professor & the Glitched Presentation!
The first week of university had officially begun. Gevran and his crew—now gaining a bit of campus fame as "G-Force"—were ready to face the real world: their first business class, new professors, and… their wild dream of launching a restaurant.
What they didn't expect? That their first real challenge would come from the most feared course of the semester:
"Global Strategic Management"
with Professor Kang Seong-Tae—a.k.a. The Killer Professor.
Prof. Kang was infamous for his strict teaching style, stone-cold expression, and a pointing stick that he wielded like Harry Potter's wand.
"If you're sleepy, leave. If you're unprepared, go home. I'm not your babysitter," he announced on Day One, voice icy.
Jiwan leaned over and whispered, "I swear… this guy can probably read my sins."
Haesung, ever composed, replied, "Relax. As long as we don't screw up, we'll be fine."
Fate had other plans.
That day, he announced a surprise group presentation. Topic?
"Innovative Strategies in the Food and Beverage Industry."
Gevran shot a look at Jiwan.
Jiwan looked at Mi Yong.
Mi Yong looked at the laptop.
And the laptop…
Suddenly restarted.
"WHAT THE—?!" Eunwoo screamed in panic.
The carefully prepared slides they stayed up all night working on—gone.
And what popped up on the projector screen instead?
A childhood photo of Jiwan in a princess dress at his older sister's birthday party.
The class erupted in laughter.
Professor Kang raised a single eyebrow. "Interesting. Very… innovative."
Jiwan, without missing a beat, stepped forward.
"This, sir… is a representation of my childhood struggle—breaking gender stereotypes… in the culinary world."
Gevran and Haesung were stunned silent.
Mi Yong nearly collapsed laughing.
Eunwoo? He took a selfie with Jiwan's photo as the background.
Amazingly, Professor Kang gave a slow nod.
"I like the passion. But next week… bring a real presentation."
When they finally stepped out of class, all five of them burst into laughter.
"Jiwan, you saved us today," Gevran said, still wheezing.
"I know. But we have to switch laptops. If my Snow White photo comes up again, I'm transferring."
And just like that…
Their first run-in with the Killer Professor turned into a bonding moment—and a key life lesson:
When life throws you chaos, answer with improvised presentations and a big smile.
---
The chaos didn't stop there.
Later that week, G-Force decided to meet up at their favorite hangout spot—a cozy rooftop café near campus—with laptops, iced americanos, and fire in their eyes.
"Alright," Mi Yong said, adjusting her glasses like an anime villain. "Let's rebuild this presentation from scratch. But this time—no childhood cosplay surprises."
"Agreed," Jiwan muttered, still scarred from the 'Princess Jiwan' incident.
They split tasks efficiently: Haesung took charge of market research, Eunwoo handled design, Mi Yong structured the content, Jiwan added financial analysis, and Gevran… well, he was the glue that kept everyone laughing and focused.
By midnight, they had something solid. No glitches. No embarrassing photos.
"Presentation 2.0," Eunwoo announced, lifting his cup like a toast.
"To not getting roasted by the Killer Professor," Mi Yong added.
"To me not accidentally becoming a feminist icon," Jiwan deadpanned.
They laughed. But the next day wasn't as funny.
---
Presentation Day, Take Two.
The classroom was silent as the projector flickered on.
This time, their slides worked. Crisp visuals, bold strategies, innovative tech integrations like AI-powered menus and zero-waste kitchens—everything flowed.
Then came the Q&A.
Professor Kang stared at them. "Tell me one thing. What makes your restaurant concept better than any franchise out there?"
There was a pause. Haesung started forming a response, but Gevran stepped forward.
"Emotion," he said.
The room stilled.
"Our restaurant isn't just about food. It's about healing. It's a table for the tired, the lost, the ambitious. A place where a bullied kid, a lonely worker, or a stressed-out student feels like they belong. That's what sets us apart."
Even Kang Seong-Tae blinked.
Jiwan whispered, "Did we just win the Nobel Peace Prize or something?"
Professor Kang finally nodded. "You passed."
And just like that, their dream—SeoulPot—had its first green light.
---
Back at the café that night, they clinked glasses of soda and milk tea.
"To absurd ideas and unexpected glitches," Eunwoo said.
"To surviving Professor Kang," Mi Yong added.
"To emotions," Haesung nodded.
"To friendship," Jiwan smiled.
And Gevran? He raised his cup high.
"To the beginning of something big."
