Chapter 3 - The Akashic Record

Akashic Record

A primordial system that exists at the core of all reality.

Think of it as the ultimate database—an all-seeing overseer that records, controls, and maintains the rules of existence.

It governs everything: fate, time, destiny, magic, even the rise and fall of entire realities.

In simpler words?

It's the system behind the scenes.

The code running the universe.

Whether you're a hero, a villain, a side character, or just some random passerby—

The Akashic Record has already written your existence.

And yet… it doesn't fully control you.

Because unlike a fixed script, this system allows change.

Growth. Evolution.

If you push hard enough, you can defy your limits—

Even rewrite your fate.

That's why people in this world can see their Status Window—a reflection of their current self.

Your stats, talents, titles, hidden abilities… all monitored in real time.

As for Constellations—

They're powerful beings, legends turned real.

Gods, devils, ancient myths who watch the world from beyond the veil.

They can choose Avatars, bless them with powers, and even descend into the material world.

But nothing in this system comes free.

Their interference isn't without consequence.

That consequence… is called Probability.

---

What is Probability?

It's the universe's natural resistance to the unnatural.

Every miracle, every impossible feat, every divine intervention…

It all carries a price.

The more unreasonable the act, the more it goes against the flow of the world,

the higher the Probability cost.

In the world of "No Happy Ending in the 999th Regression", reality is like a stretched rubber band.

You can bend it to a degree.

But bend it too far, and—

Snap.

That snap is called a Probability Storm.

---

Probability Storm

A system backlash.

A reality-breaking event that occurs when too many improbable actions are forced into the world.

Laws collapse.

Time distorts.

Logic becomes meaningless.

It's not just rain and lightning—

A Probability Storm can erase anything from existence once you're touched by it.

Because reality will use your existence to fill the gap you created by defying the system.

You couldn't bear the cost—so it deletes you to restore balance.

Even the strongest beings fear it.

Because no one is immune when reality itself rebels.

And so, the Akashic Record remains absolute.

It allows miracles, but always demands balance.

Even gods must pay the price.

Even myths must obey the law.

Because in the end…

The Record decides what stays—and what gets erased.

Expected of an extra? Hah.

But seriously—why is my Charm lower than a baby's?

No matter how many times I look at this status window, it always reminds me…

Cale Ashblood has absurd stats, rare skills, OP everything.

Expected of the protagonist, I guess.

Now, I find myself staring at the screen again.

The events of the past week… they changed something in me.

This world, once just a broken novel, now feels more real than ever.

Because Cale Ashblood, the protagonist, is on his 999th regression.

And this time, everything is different.

This is the final cycle.

The last shot.

Why?

Because Cale isn't just a regressor —

He's the Heir of the Akashic Record.

And that very system…

Is in danger.

Outer Gods like the Demon King were never meant to interfere in this universe.

The Akashic Record kept them out.

But if the Demon King devours the system?

That's it.

Reality will collapse.

Everything will end.

Or in simpler terms?

Yeah—this is about to get royally fucked.

---

I lie on the bed, unmoving, eyes tracing the cracks in the ceiling.

Hah… this habit of mine's still with me? Figures.

Should I just go on a stealing spree and grab more Hidden Pieces before the protagonist does?

Cale can't possibly collect everything, right?

But then again… he'd definitely notice.

And knowing that he's a complete madman right now, it'll not go well for me.

What a dilemma.

Ding Ding.

I sit up slowly, still groggy.

My body aches. My thoughts are heavier than my limbs.

I drag myself across the room.

> "Sir, you have a parcel?"

"...Ohhh, I see."

> "Please sign here, sir."

"Okay."

A letter?

No—more than that.

It's wrapped in an enchanted box, sealed with the crest of the Academy of Fate.

Carefully, I break the seal.

Inside:

– An official ID card from the Academy of Fate

– A notice, written in elegant, flowing script:

> You have been formally accepted into the Academy of Fate.

The Entrance Ceremony will take place one week from today.

We look forward to your arrival.<

I stare at the message.

So… it's about time the main story begins.

The Academy of Fate.

The heart of this world's future heroes.

The place where the protagonist and the main cast will gather.

Where everything begins—rivalries, love, hate, connections… everything.

And somehow… I, a low-rank extra, was given a place there.

No matter how twisted the path that led me here, I can't help but feel it—

A quiet, burning honor.

But before that…

I need to take care of preparations before heading to that academy.

---

I need to retrieve a Hidden Piece buried deep within Tenshiyama, the tallest mountain in Althea.

It's not just some rare item.

It was never meant to exist.

Just like me.

And for someone like me…

It can help a lot in upcoming arcs.

Because looking at my current self—

I can't even stop a minor incident.

Forget about changing anything in the major events.

I pack swiftly—preserved food, enchanted tools, climbing gear.

The last item: a plain-looking water bottle.

Ordinary in appearance, yet enchanted to store 20 liters inside its deceptively small 500ml frame.

As I zip my bag shut—

Let's get this over with.

---

I directly head to the nearby Space Gate.

With how far the Human Domain has come in space technology, it honestly feels like a miracle.

As someone who used to be just a reader of this ruined novel's reality, I always had a small wish—

To use one of these gates at least once.

And now?

What a twisted fate.

I'm here.

About to step through one.

Space Gate

A revolutionary piece of technology used across the entire world.

And no, it's not just limited to the Human Domain—

Even other species, from their own domains, use it.

Basically, it connects the world together—

A global teleportation system.

Of course, the inner workings are way too complex to casually explain.

But here's what matters:

This tech was created by none other than the Celestial Assembly,

also known as the Thirteen Pillars of Dominion—

Beings so powerful, each one holds the fate of their entire domain.

Yup. You heard that right.

The most powerful entities on this planet—

One throne each, for every dominant race or faction.

Thirteen seats in total.

And if any domain holds even one or two thrones?

They basically decide the fate of the world.

Their influence?

God-tier.

Here's the fun fact:

The protagonist of this ruined novel—Cale Ashblood—

He's going to become one of the Pillars of the Celestial Assembly.

So in a way… this fucker really does have an aura that defines him, hahahaha.
