The giant man walked away after that, and then Julius finally relaxed.
"Now what the fuck was that? Who the hell are these guys?" Julius racked his memory.
He was in the body of a complete stranger in a trial the Evernight formed for him, so he could quite panic right about now.
"Those are followers of the Goddess of Destruction. They call themselves the madmen."
A voice came from beside him, and he looked to the side to see the man with the beautiful silver eyes looking at him.
"The madmen?"
The man seemed to be surprised by Julius' expression.
"You don't even know the people that kidnapped you, lad?" the man asked, and Julius silently shook his head.
"The madmen are the followers of the Goddess of Destruction, Yonder. As followers of Godking Ophus, we would definitely be their target, especially with the signs of Ragnarok coming," the man explained, and Julius kind of got his situation now.
"This is your ship, right?" he asked.
He seemed to have heard him say that before, but he just wanted to be sure.
"Yes, we were captured while we were sleeping and our weapons were taken from us," the man said, and then he tilted his head a bit and then raised a finger and pointed at his chest.
'Is there still a hole in my chest?' he quickly looked down and then saw that he had quite the mature body.
He lacked muscles, but he didn't look like a corpse anymore. What surprised him more was the necklace dangling on his neck, which had a single circular pendant on it.
"Where did you get that?" the man asked.
Julius instantly flinched as he sensed hostility in that question.
He raised his hand, which was chained, and held the circular pendant.
"I... I don't know," he mumbled.
The man observed his confused expression for a bit before relaxing.
"It seems you have lost your memories, or something like that. That pendant is only worn by servants of the Rebel," the man said in a relaxed tone.
Julius seemed to be getting information only in bits, but it was the latest addition that got him interested.
'Servants of the Rebel. Is that my current role?' he thought, a frown finding its way to his face.
He glanced at the man in the other cage, Skull...
'Skull... What a funny name.' He held back his urge to laugh and asked:
"Who is this Rebel?"
The man glanced at him with a raised brow and sat up with a sigh.
"The Rebel is just the name all followers of the Godking now call him. When the war between the gods started, the other beings crowned gods also had to pick sides."
"The Rebel, who was part of the five monarchs. They all joined the war and sided with the Godking, but that one monarch went missing amongst the battle. Branded as a betrayal, the followers of the Godking started calling this lone monarch a Rebel," the man explained, and then Julius began to understand his current situation.
'Gods exist. And some kind of God war is making their followers go against each other,' he suddenly shook his head as a thought rang in his head.
"How do you even know all this? Do the gods speak to humans here?" he asked with a frown, and the man shook his head.
"Every twenty years, a person with a blessing of divination would be born in every village. They serve as messengers of god. Through them, we can get god's commandments and blessings," the man said and then relaxed his back again.
"Now that you know your situation, I think you should think about how you're going to 'Entertain' their captain Bern tomorrow," Skull said. Julius could hear the mockery in his tone.
'He must've figured out that with no memories I was just saying that to avoid the situation,' he smiled on his own and then relaxed with a sigh.
There wasn't much he could do right now, so he began to plan something for the next day.
The story of the God war that Skull told him rang in his head, and he couldn't help but find it all so interesting.
If gods gave blessings in this scenario, does that mean in the real world the blessings came from these gods as well? No one was able to figure that out because they faced scenarios and got blessings as rewards.
As for what he was going to do the next day, he had a few ideas in mind that he could use for the event.
...
The next morning came in a flash, and the metallic door of the basement came open, and the same giant man climbed down into the basement, along with other normal humans all having weapons on them.
They held plates and began to drop the plates of food in front of each cage in the basement.
Julius frowned as he saw what looked like white rice soaked in water, and a huge shadow was cast over his face. He looked up to see the huge man with his metallic hat, which had horns on them facing sideways.
"Hope you're ready for today?" the man said in a gentle tone this time and threw a hat and a bottle at him.
The hat looked like a crown, which had spikes going upwards but had colourful floppy extensions between the spikes with bells at the end, and the bottle had powder in it.
Julius frowned, and that was when he looked at the clothes he had on him, which consisted of a cropped monkey jacket that was red on one side and blue on the other side. The trousers had a switched position of the colour scheme, and the man walked away and lifted a huge barrel off of the ground and walked out of the basement.
Julius didn't know which one to be shocked about, the fact that his necklace changed image when light shined on it, or the fact that that man lifted a barrel that was supposedly filled with beer, if his guess was correct.
At least he got a gist of his role now; he was a fucking clown in a world of Vikings and war.
