Bureau Medical Wing – Dawn
Sunlight spilled through the high windows, casting soft gold across the sterile walls.
Kaelin sat up slowly in her hospital bed. Her fingers moved hesitantly, as if rediscovering how to feel.
She stared out the window—watching light, not war.
Beside her, Lu Feng sat quietly, the corners of his lips curved in a faint smile.
She turned to him.
"Did you really give me… all your memories of us?"
"Not give," he said."Returned."
"You gave me back to myself."
"And you once gave me back to mine."
Kaelin held the worn copy of Principles of Spirit Constructs in her lap.
A memory rose.
"I think… we made a promise," she murmured.
Lu Feng smiled. "We did."
"You said someday, we'd look at real stars—not mirror simulations. Just us."
Kaelin looked at him.
"Take me there."
One Week Later – Mount Liminal, Border of the Rewritten Zone
Night fell gently.
Lu Feng and Kaelin sat atop a mountain slope, backs resting against each other, looking up.
Above them:real stars.no Domain filters.no fate diagrams.
Just sky.
"I filed for long-term leave," Lu Feng said quietly. "Not quitting. Just… stepping back."
Kaelin tilted her head.
"To teach?"
"To teach," he confirmed. "New soul agents. Not how to fight. But how to survive without forgetting who they are."
She nodded.
"And me?" she asked softly. "Will you still want me around?"
Lu Feng leaned his head gently against hers.
"I've never stopped."
