The next day at the basketball game, I walked into the crowded gym, scanning the stands for Justin's familiar face. Spotting him on the court warming up, I found a seat and cheered him on.
The game was intense, with both teams fighting for every point. Justin's team emerged victorious, and he grinned as he walked off the court, sweat-drenched but triumphant.
As he made his way toward me, his eyes locked onto mine, and my heart skipped a beat. "Hey, thanks for coming!" he exclaimed, his face flushed with excitement.
I smiled, feeling happy for him. "You guys played amazing! Congratulations on the win."
Justin beamed, his eyes sparkling. "Thanks, it means a lot coming from you."
We chatted for a bit, discussing the game and his teammates. As we talked, I couldn't help but notice the way Justin's eyes crinkled at the corners when he smiled or the way his hair curled slightly at the nape of his neck.
Suddenly, Justin's friends called out to him, interrupting our conversation. "Hey, Wright, let's celebrate with pizza!"
Justin hesitated, looking at me. "Want to join us?."
I hesitated for a moment, unsure if I wanted to join the group. But Justin's hopeful expression made me smile. "Sure, I'd love to," I said, trying to sound casual.
Justin grinned, relief washing over his face. "Awesome! Let's go."
We walked out of the gym with his friends, laughing and joking around. At the pizza place, we grabbed slices and sat down, chatting about the game and school gossip.
As we ate, Justin's friends teased him good-naturedly about his game-winning shot. I laughed along with them, feeling comfortable in their company.
After pizza, Justin walked me home, the evening air crisp and cool. We strolled side by side, discussing everything from school to music.
As we stood outside my front door, Justin turned to me. "Thanks for coming to the game and joining us for pizza. It was really fun having you around."
I smiled, feeling a warmth in my chest. "No problem, I had a great time."
Justin smiled back, his eyes sparkling. "I'm glad you did."
We stood there for a moment, the silence comfortable. Then Justin said, "I'll see you tomorrow, okay?"
I nodded, watching as he turned and walked away.
The next day at school, I walked down the hallway, feeling a sense of normalcy wash over me. The drama with Britney seemed to have died down, and I was grateful for the reprieve.
As I approached my locker, I spotted Justin leaning against it, chatting with his friends. He caught my eye and smiled, and I felt a flutter in my chest.
"Hey, morning," he said, pushing off the locker and falling into step beside me as we walked to our first class.
"Morning," I replied, smiling back at him.
Throughout the day, Justin and I exchanged smiles and brief conversations between classes. It felt like we were settling into a comfortable routine.
At lunchtime, Justin joined me at my usual table, and we chatted about our morning classes. Britney and her friends walked by, shooting me dirty looks, but I ignored them.
Justin noticed and frowned. "Still giving you trouble, huh?"
I shrugged. "Just the usual."
Justin nodded sympathetically. "I'll talk to her if you want."
I placed a hand on his arm, feeling a spark of electricity. "No, it's fine. I've got it under control."
Justin looked at me, his eyes searching. "You sure?"
I nodded, smiling. "Yeah, I'm positive."
The rest of the day passed without incident, and I felt grateful for Justin's presence in my life.
As we parted ways after school, Justin said, "Hey, want to study together for our math test tomorrow?."
I considered his suggestion for a moment before nodding. "Yeah, that sounds like a great idea. I could definitely use some help studying for that test."
Justin grinned, looking pleased with himself. "Awesome! How about we meet up at the library after dinner?"
I agreed, and we made plans to meet at 6 pm. The rest of the day flew by, and before I knew it, I was sitting at a table in the library, surrounded by textbooks and notes. Justin arrived a few minutes later, carrying a large backpack full of study materials.
We spent the next few hours pouring over our notes, quizzing each other, and working through practice problems. Justin was a great study partner, patient and encouraging, and I found myself feeling more confident about the test with each passing minute.
As we studied, our conversations flowed easily, and I found myself laughing and joking with Justin like we were old friends. It was nice to have someone to share the workload with, and I appreciated Justin's willingness to help me understand the material.
As the evening wore on, the library began to close, and we decided to call it a night. Justin walked me home, the stars twinkling above us in the night sky. We chatted about our plans for the weekend, and I mentioned that I was thinking about going to the movies on Saturday.
Justin perked up at the suggestion. "I love the movies! What were you thinking of seeing?"
I shrugged. "I haven't decided yet. Maybe something action-packed?"
Justin grinned. "Sounds like a plan. Want some company?"
I smiled, feeling a flutter in my chest. "Sure, that would be great."
We stood outside my front door, lingering in the cool night air. Justin looked at me, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "I'm really glad we're studying together, and hanging out more often," he said, his voice low and sincere.
I smiled, feeling a warmth in my chest. "Me too," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper.
Justin smiled back, and we stood there for a moment, the silence comfortable between us. Then, he leaned in, his face inches from mine. "Goodnight," he whispered, his breath tickling my skin.
My heart skipped a beat as I felt a rush of excitement. "Goodnight," I replied, my voice barely audible.
Justin pulled back, smiling, and turned to walk away. I watched him go, feeling a sense of excitement and anticipation. I couldn't help but wonder what the future held for us, and if maybe, just maybe, I had found someone special.
The next day, we took the math test, and I felt confident and prepared, thanks to Justin's help. Afterward, we met up with some friends and grabbed lunch, laughing and joking around.
As we sat at the table, Justin's hand brushed against mine, sending a spark of electricity through my body. I didn't pull away, and instead, let our hands touch again, feeling a sense of connection with him.
The rest of the week flew by, and Justin and I grew closer, our friendship blossoming into something more. We would sit together at lunch, and in class, exchanging smiles and whispers.
One day, as we were walking down the hallway, Justin turned to me and asked, "Hey, do you want to go to the spring formal with me?"
My heart skipped a beat as I considered the question. I had been looking forward to the formal, and the thought of going with Justin was tempting.
"Yes, I'd love to," I replied, trying to sound casual, but inside, I was jumping up and down with excitement.
Justin grinned, looking pleased with himself. "Awesome! I'll pick you up at 7 pm?"
I nodded, feeling a sense of excitement and anticipation. The spring formal was going to be a night to remember, and I was thrilled to be going with Justin.
As we parted ways, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the turn my life had taken. Justin was kind, funny, and genuine, and I felt lucky to have him in my life.
The days leading up to the formal flew by, and before I knew it, the night had arrived. I got dressed up, feeling like a princess in my gown, and waited for Justin to arrive.
When he knocked on the door, I took a deep breath, and opened it, feeling a sense of excitement and nervousness. Justin looked dashing in his tuxedo, and his eyes lit up when he saw me.
"You look stunning," he said, his voice sincere.
I blushed, feeling a warmth in my chest. "Thanks, you don't look so bad yourself."
As we posed for photos, I couldn't help but feel like a princess, with Justin by my side looking like a prince. We laughed and joked, enjoying the moment, and I felt like everything was perfect.
But as we were about to enter the dance floor, I saw Britney standing across the room, her eyes fixed on us with a scowl on her face. She looked like she had been sucking on a lemon, and I could tell she was seething with anger.
"Well, well, well, look who's trying to steal the spotlight," Britney sneered, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "You think you're so special now, don't you, with your little boyfriend and your fancy dress?"
I rolled my eyes, feeling a sense of annoyance. "Britney, just leave us alone," I said, trying to keep my cool.
But Britney was not to be deterred. She stormed over to us, her heels clicking on the floor, and her eyes flashing with anger. "You think you can just waltz in here and steal Justin away from me?" she spat, her voice rising. "You're just a pathetic little copycat, and you'll never be good enough for him."
Justin stepped forward, his eyes narrowing. "Britney, that's enough," he said, his voice firm but polite. "Leave us alone."
But Britney was beyond reason. She glared at me, her face twisted with rage. "You're just a temporary distraction for him," she sneered. "He'll come crawling back to me, and you'll be left in the dust."
I felt a surge of anger, but Justin's hand tightened around mine. "Don't engage with her," he whispered, his voice low.
I took a deep breath, and let Justin lead me away from Britney's toxic presence. We danced and laughed, enjoying each other's company, and I felt like I was on cloud nine.
As the night wore on, the music slowed, and the lights dimmed. Justin pulled me close, and we swayed to the music, our bodies inches apart.
I felt like I was melting into his arms, and I knew that I was falling deeply in love with him. As the music ended, Justin looked at me, his eyes sparkling with affection.
"I'm having an amazing time tonight," he said, his voice low. "Thanks for being here with me."
I smiled, feeling a warmth in my chest. "I'm having a great time too," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper.
Justin took a deep breath, and his eyes locked onto mine. "I was wondering if you'd like to be my girlfriend," he asked, his voice sincere.
My heart skipped a beat, and I felt like I was floating on air. I looked up at Justin, and saw the hope and adoration in his eyes.
"I'll think about it," I said, trying to sound casual, but inside, I was jumping up and down with excitement.
Justin grinned, looking pleased with himself. "Okay, I'll take that as a maybe," he said, his voice low.
I laughed, feeling a sense of joy and anticipation. As we walked out of the venue, I knew that I had a big decision to make. But one thing was for sure - I was already hooked on Justin, and I knew that I wouldn't be able to resist him for long.
As we stood outside my front door, Justin leaned in, his face inches from mine. "Goodnight," he whispered, his breath tickling my skin.
My heart skipped a beat, and I felt a rush of excitement. "Goodnight," I replied, my voice barely audible.
He smiled and turned then walked back to his car.
I went inside the house, my mum was in the kitchen.
"Mum, I'm back" I called out as i kicked off my heels.
