*Krypton's P.O.V* (time, 7:50 o'clock)
This is terrible. Is he crazy? After waiting for so long, he's going to say something like that? Ugh. I wasted my time waiting for him. We should have started looking for another member earlier so this wouldn't have happened. It's so annoying.
"K-Krypton..." Carmella's voice trembled with fear.
"What!? Even you—" I turned around angrily and saw Carmella's shocked face. I followed her gaze and was taken aback by what I saw. My expression changed instantly. There was a...
"AHHHHHHH." Carmella screamed. Jacob quickly approached her and asked what was wrong. Carmella's finger was shaking as she pointed to something.
Jacob's face showed shock and horror as he saw the bloody body of a girl. He was too stunned to speak.
"W-what is that... Why is her head cut off..." Jacob stammered, his voice filled with fear.
Suddenly, Kyro and Kelvin arrived. Like Jacob and me, they were shocked and stopped in their tracks when they saw the body.
"Let's get out of here. Let's go back to Unit Z!!!" Kelvin shouted, and we all started running towards Unit Z.
However, we saw the door slowly closing.
"Hurry up!!!" Kelvin yelled.
What's going on?
"We can still make it," Xyrus said, trying to reassure us. We reached the door, but it was about to close. We let Carmella and Jacob go in first, but before we could follow, the door slammed shut. No way...
"Carmella!!! Jacob!!!" Xyrus shouted from the other side of the door. My eyes widened in shock at what was happening. Is this the festival?
Suddenly, a hand grabbed my shoulder. I turned around, startled, and saw Kyro looking at me.
"Let's get out of here," he said emotionlessly. Then, we ran away from Unit Z.
Take care, Jacob.
*Kelvin's P.O.V* (ten minutes later, time 8:00 o'clock)
We're hiding in a canteen near Unit D. As we ran, none of us saw anyone outside.
What's really going on? Besides the bodies lying around, they're the only people we've seen.
Kyro seems out of it, while Krypton is pacing back and forth. Xyrus is sitting quietly, watching them. This is all so confusing. What's going on?
"Do you think the festival has started? Has the game already begun?" Xyrus asked fearfully, breaking the silence.
"Impossible. It can't start already, since they gave us two days to form a team. It's not easy to form a team, especially since we only started looking yesterday and this morning," I explained, disagreeing with Xyrus.
I don't think the festival has started yet. It's impossible. Besides, if it had really started, why would the school management issue an emergency call? Something's off.
"I agree. Something bad is happening," Krypton said seriously, stopping his pacing. Then, Xyrus called out to Kyro in a fearful tone.
Everyone fell silent. I looked at Kyro and saw him shaking, pointing in a certain direction. I followed his gaze, and so did Krypton.
Then, we saw...
"ALIENNNN!!!!" Krypton screamed loudly.
I felt a chill run down my spine. How did this thing get here? What is this? It's a small, purple, dog-like creature with long ears and one eye, but no legs. Could it be from that high school series we watched? But that's impossible. We're not in Korea.
"L-let's get out of here," Krypton stammered, sweat dripping from his face. I approached him and put my hand on his arm.
"Calm down—" But before I could finish, something grabbed my foot. I looked down and saw long, tentacle-like appendages from an unknown object. Don't tell me this is the alien from that show? But...
Then, I heard my name being called repeatedly.
"Kelvin!!! Wake up!!!" Xyrus shouted. I quickly turned around and saw the distance between us. When I turned back, I saw the small, purple creature. I trembled as I watched it, and saw its long ears grasping my left foot. How...?
It started pulling my foot, but before I could get close to it, a loud shout from behind could be heard, and I saw the face of an angry man. Krypton?
I was surprised to see him swing a baseball bat he was holding at the small purple creature.
"What are you waiting for? Run!!" he shouted loudly, and I managed to move my feet. I was heading towards Kyro's direction, but another purple sphere appeared, causing me to stop in my tracks.
It quickly ran towards me, and "Kelvin, dodge!" Xyrus shouted, which made me move down suddenly.
Then, I felt a strong gust of wind from behind. I looked up and saw Krypton's angry face. At the same time, the purple creature was knocked away.
"K-Krypton?" I stammered, and he pulled me out of the canteen while quickly saying,
"Kyro, let's meet at Club A!!"
*Jacob P.O.V (ten minutes earlier, time 7:55 o'clock in the morning)*
Who closed the door? Krypton and the others are still outside.
What's happening outside? What did we see? Has the festival started?
Ugh. No matter how hard I try to open this door, it seems hopeless.
"KELVIN!!! KRYPTON!!! ARE YOU STILL THERE!?" I shouted loudly from inside. But a fearful voice from behind could be heard.
I stopped shouting and turned around nervously.
What is this??? Small purple things are attacking the people with us inside.
Spheres?
"Carmella, it's not safe here," I said fearfully to her, then turned back to the door.
"OPEN THE DOOR!!! WE'RE BEGGING YOU!!! OPEN THE DOOR!!!"
Out of nowhere, a loud gunshot could be heard. I quickly turned to see the sphere being knocked away.
More gunshots followed, and I saw the Marksman unit, a group of students holding guns and positioned on the upper levels.
"Carmella, let's go!!!" I grabbed her hand, but she didn't follow. I turned to her and saw blood coming out of her mouth.
"J-jacob..." she whispered, and a sphere emerged from her right shoulder.
When did that happen? I quickly backed away, looking at it, and sat down while walking backwards.
"Don't, have mercy on me. I'm not doing anything wrong. Have mercy on me!!" I repeated, trembling and walking backwards on the floor. The sphere that pierced Carmella's body was slowly approaching me.
Suddenly, it sped up and jumped towards me.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH."
*Kyro's POV* (time, 8:20 o'clock)
We need to hurry. Yes, straight to Club A. We can get our weapons there. But before that, we need to go through Club E, F, and G to get there.
Each club is positioned like a circus tent. If we start from behind Unit D, we need to go through E, F, and G because the back of Unit D is Club D, so we can circle around and reach Club A.
For Krypton and the others, it's easy for them to get to Club A because they can go straight to Club Z and pass through the path between Unit A and B to reach Club A.
However, we saw bodies lying on the road and the purple creatures attacking us in those areas.
We've already passed Club E, and there are no bodies or purple creatures on the road. We're now close to Club G. This is where you'll find the most people because of the various sports you can join.
Hopefully, the purple creatures aren't like the ones in the high school series I watched, where they go to places with many people.
As we reached the front of Club G, a wounded man suddenly appeared, screaming "HELP!!! HELP US!!!"
He quickly changed direction and headed towards us. But before he could change direction, a long purple tentacle like an octopus's emerged and pierced his body.
I quickly looked away with Xyrus, who was watching the man's body slowly falling. He's familiar... Don't tell me...
We moved away from the road to Club G. Here, you can see people panicking, not knowing where to go. They're being attacked by numerous purple creatures.
Hopefully, they won't all die. I turned to Xyrus, and I saw the fearful expression on his face.
We need to get to Club A.
"Xyrus," I called out to him. He immediately turned to me.
"Face the front," I added, and he suddenly looked down, tears welling up in his eyes while repeatedly saying the word "Coach".
Sorry Xyrus, we can't help now.
*Krypton's POV (same time)*
Ugh, this is annoying. Why did we come this way?
"Krypton, what about them, Kyro?" Kelvin asked worriedly while running.
"CAN YOU JUST SHUT UP FOR ONCE!!!" I snapped at him, and he immediately fell silent.
Has the festival started already? What are these purple creatures? Why is this happening? This is so frustrating.
"Hey!!!" I shouted to Kelvin while running, looking ahead. A few seconds passed, but I didn't hear any response from him.
"HEY!!!", I shouted again, looking at him, and he was startled.
"What's wrong? Why are you shouting?" he responded. I looked away from him and spoke again.
"Why aren't you answering me? I'm talking to you," I asked angrily, looking at him.
"You told me to shut up, and now you're mad?" he responded sarcastically.
Ugh, this is so annoying.
"Let's go to Club Z first, maybe we can bring Carmella and Jacob with us to Club A."
Hopefully, those purple creatures haven't entered the rooms.
"If I'm not mistaken, Club Z is in the middle of the units. If we head straight in that direction, we'll get there quickly," Kelvin explained.
"I'm not asking," I said. Head straight? This guy's crazy. Doesn't he think about the rooms we'll pass through? Ugh, why did I get stuck with him? This is so annoying.
We changed direction, heading towards the center from Unit D. There are many different rooms before we reach Club Z. If you notice, the units are actually rooms.
Behind the units are the clubs, depending on which unit they're opposite. For example, Unit D has Club D behind it. It's not far, so it didn't take us long to get to Club Z.
As I was about to change direction towards the door, I saw it was open, and I was shocked to see a woman's body lying on the floor.
"I-is that Carmella?" Kelvin asked trembling.
Yes, that's Carmella. But how...
I looked around Club Z from where we were standing, and there were many bodies lying around. There was also a lot of blood scattered around.
"Kelvin, let's go," I called out to him emotionlessly, then left the open door of Club Z.
"Don't tell me... that guy is also..." A heavy hand suddenly landed on my right shoulder.
"What about them?" he asked worriedly, trying to hold back tears. Crybaby Kelvin.
"If you want to go back, go ahead," I responded irritably, then removed his hand from my shoulder.
This isn't a joke anymore. We need to get to Club A as soon as possible, before it's too late.
