 Chapter 2: Entrance

Inside the Auditorium,

Yosen Magic Affiliated College

Damian, Shane, and Kaiden stepped into the grand auditorium, their eyes sweeping over the elegant space.

"Hmm. I suppose this is to be expected from a National Affiliated College."

Damian muttered, amusement in his tone.

"Even the auditorium meets the standard."

National Affiliated—more commonly known as Magic Affiliated.

Since the old era, the world had split into four boundaries for four races.

Seven continents became their domains.

Three belonged to the Magic Affiliated, one to the "faithful" faction, and the remaining two to those who came from the gates.

Shane sighed, glancing around the massive hall, which resembled a high-end theatre.

"Actually, Yosen isn't the only institution receiving resources from the Magic Affiliated. They spread their assets thin. Even so, this place is impressive... Hm… Let's sit over there."

Shane gestured toward a row near the edge, where the seats curved in a semi-circular arc.

The auditorium was divided into two sections: the lower floor, where most students sat, and an extended platform above, offering a higher view of the stage.

"Sure."

Kaiden and Damian agreed, following Shane to their seats. As they settled in, Shane glanced around.

"Lussac is probably still sorting out his transfer papers. Not sure if he'll even have to take the assessment."

Meanwhile, Enma was likely with the Student Council.

As Freshman Representative, he was required to join, a responsibility that had fallen to their eldest brother.

Rock-paper-scissors might've been a dumb way to decide, but Shane and Kaiden weren't about to do it.

Damian, as usual, hadn't cared in the first place.

And now, they had to admit—things were boring. Damian leaned back, already dozing off.

Kaiden buried his face in a book, completely absorbed.

Shane, meanwhile, tapped away on his phone without a care.

Slowly, the auditorium filled as more students trickled in.

By the time only ten minutes remained before orientation, the hall was packed.

"Guys, it's almost time."

Shane said lazily, glancing at the podium.

Damian, being woken up by his brother cracked one eye open, glanced around, then closed it again.

Kaiden, still deep in his book, didn't even look up. "...."

Shane seeing his brothers with this act shrugged his shoulders.

Well, he should have expected this too. It was just like them.

Soon, a striking black-haired woman walked onto the stage.

She wore a sleek black suit with a matching skirt just above her knees, exuding a professional, commanding presence.

"Silence, everyone!"

A staff member had taken the podium and, saying that, the chatter died instantly.

"We will now begin freshman orientation…"

And so it began.

The speech dragged on, filled with the usual rhetoric the students had heard countless times before.

Though the world had entered an era of peace, dangers remained—other races, powerful monsters, and the mysterious fractured space.

Humanity's mission had never changed since the opening of the first World Class fractured space to another dimension:

Preserve the world.

Eliminate threats beyond the fractures.

Yet, humanity itself often proved to be its greatest enemy.

Despite the looming dangers, many misused their powers, while others—unable to awaken—feared what they could neither comprehend nor control.

"With that," the woman concluded, "let us welcome the twenty-ninth student council president of Yosen College."

Excitement stirred through the auditorium as she stepped aside, making way for the Student Council.

At the head was a young woman whose beauty left the hall in stunned silence.

Long, straight black hair framed her face, and azure eyes gleamed beneath her bangs.

She wore a pristine white uniform with gold buttons, a dark blue tie adorned with three golden stars, and a pair of white gloves.

Draped over her shoulders was a cape-like trench coat, completing the regal look.

"Whoa, she's gorgeous!"

"I think I'm in love already!"

"I'm so glad I enrolled here."

"Idiot. You really think you have a chance with her?"

"Hey, let a man dream!"

The crowd buzzed with admiration—some clapping and cheering, others whispering their more... questionable fantasies.

"Oh?"

Amidst the chatters, Shane raised an eyebrow from the back row, the only one among his brothers to react—and even that was lackluster.

Damian remained dozing, arms folded across his chest, unbothered by the commotion.

Kaiden, still buried in his book, seemed oblivious to the entire orientation.

They always behaved this way—detached, indifferent to the hype around them, unless when it comes to them. They were that selfish.

Just another Creed quirk if one may say.

"Well, whatever."

From there. The president began her speech,

"I want to extend a warm welcome on behalf of the entire student body to all of you embarking on your journey at this prestigious institution…"

Shane leaned back, eyes half-lidded as the speech droned on.

"They really like speeches here," he thought, his expression darkening with boredom.

It was the natural procedures they'd gone through with the speeches and all.

They were supposed to be used to this already, but when it dragged on and on like this. It just becomes boring.

"And now, it is my pleasure to welcome the Freshman Representative of the twentieth year—Enma Creed."

The student council, having finished her speech announced this as a ripple of applause spread through the hall.

Some students clapped politely, while others exchanged confused glances, murmuring amongst themselves.

"Haah. So, it begins."

Damian muttered, cracking his neck slightly as he sat up for the first time since they arrived.

Even Kaiden and Shane set aside their usual distractions, turning their attention to the stage.

They clapped as Enma stepped onto the podium, offering silent support to their older brother.

"Sniff. Our big brother... he's grown up so fast."

Shane shamelessly wiped an imaginary tear, placing a dramatic hand over his heart.

"Shane, stop overreacting," Kaiden said flatly, adjusting his glasses.

On stage, Enma stood tall—though his naturally laid-back demeanor made it seem effortless—as he began his speech.

"It is my honor… to serve as the Freshman Representative… of this prestigious class. As we embark on this new chapter…"

Meanwhile—Shane leaned back, "Hm~" With a hum, he directed his gaze about. Slowly, he then parted open his lips.

"As I thought, seems like the Magic-Affiliated families are not fond of us."

Magic-Affiliated families, simply put, operate directly under the nations and their authorities.

One could think of them as noble clans—only with more power.

While they don't have the final say in national affairs, their influence is undeniable.

For the Creeds, outliers in Yosen's carefully curated world, it was no surprise that these families viewed them with disdain.

That said, Yosen was simpler than it seemed. Here, power dictated respect. If you had it, you earned it.

Of course, that's assuming one could ignore the stuck-up Board Directives.

"For some reason, I'm really starting to hate those stares," Damian muttered, rubbing his temples.

"Oh? We're on the same page then," Shane replied with an easy smile.

Soon—

With orientation wrapping up, students were directed to collect their identification cards and check their class placements.

The IDs were essential, as they grant access to various facilities across Yosen's grounds.

Enma was still tied up with student council duties.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Creed brothers found themselves in a peculiar situation...

"As expected… of course, we're all in the same class."

"To think the school would actually... ugh." Damian muttered, deadpan.

Three of the four brothers sat together in a semi-circular lecture hall.

The other students were scattered across the rows, but their numbers were few.

It was obvious this class was reserved for those who had been admitted into this class, either due to magic related topic or Supernatural Abilities.

"But Shane, you incorrigible fool, disappear from my sight at once."

"Dear brother, it pains me to hear you speak that way."

"I simply don't want you near me."

"Oh, come on, what have I ever done to you, dear brother?"

To Shane's words, the tanned skinned male—Damian, snarled at the golden-eyed male.

It was a gaze that seemed to plead otherwise.

"I don't want to interfere, but Shane, don't act like you're innocent."

Kaiden interrupted, adjusting his glasses, his attention still fixed on his book.

Whatever held his interest so deeply eluded even Shane, and he had long given up trying to figure it out.

"Even you think so little of me? What do my brothers take me for?"

Shane's lips twitched, but his brothers simply shook their heads. Among them, Shane was silently regarded as the worst—for justified reasons.

He simply knew too much and had too many connections.

Take Lucas Creed, for example. Though recently adopted into their family, their history went way back.

Due to certain circumstances, Lucas had ended up as one of them.

Normally, the official process would have taken weeks—yet Shane had handled everything in days without even leaving his room.

They had long since stopped questioning his connections.

In fact, Damian suspected Shane was secretly running an underground organization.

And if he was?

None of them would be surprised.

Nor would they care.

That was just how it is. In fact, they would support him no questions asked. It is the same with all of them.

Silence reigned in the class for a few more moments before, the sliding door to the class was opened, and coming from it was a female.

Dark blue hair framed her face, cascading down her back. Her beauty was undeniable sharp yet effortless.

She wore a crisp white shirt tucked into black trousers, her posture rigid, every movement precise.

At her waist hung a weapon.

In all, she was striking.

…Or at least, she would have been if not for the stern expression etched onto her face. At the very least, that's what Shane thought as he observed her.

"Settle down class. Time for the second half of our Orientation."
