Chapter 10: The Big Brain Wilson
She got it, but not completely.
"I need to tell you something first."
Lyle looked at her, "If you want to learn something, fine, but I won't help you make money. Got it? You'll have to do that on your own."
He wasn't a fool.
By now, he had figured out that the knowledge in his mind, and the full six-level life skills, were like treasures.
Plus, after the Moonlight Bloom incident, he was a bit scared.
"Got it!"
Lilith stood on tiptoe, sticking her tongue out cutely, "But if I can't learn it, please don't think I'm annoying, okay?"
To be honest, she thought Lyle was really... unique.
Not because he was overwhelmingly handsome or anything.
But when he talked about things she'd never heard of, the charm of his wisdom and erudition really made her heart race!
Lilith felt that Lyle's scholarly vibe was very much like her first crush.
Oh, but Lilith had never been in love.
Well, never mind.
"Okay, just don't regret it. Take it slow."
Lyle clapped his hands, "If you take big steps, you might trip yourself up."
Lilith licked her finger and imitated his tone, "Then I'll take it slow~"
Lyle was momentarily stunned and looked at her warily.
"What are you thinking!? I was just responding to what you said about taking big steps!"
Lyle couldn't be bothered with this flirty elf, so he put on gloves, tied a small apron around his waist, and started mixing and checking the contents of the barrels.
The quality of the wine seemed quite good.
Maybe it was because the Oak Tavern used high-quality ingredients.
At that moment, there was suddenly no noise behind him.
Lyle quickly turned around.
The elf girl's ears were nearly bright red.
Her voice was soft and shy.
"Ah... Teacher..."
The young cook... it would be even better if you weren't wearing anything underneath... so embarrassing...
"..."
Lyle frowned, "Aren't elves supposed to be very loyal? Why are you acting like you're ready to give everything away? Are you like this with others?"
"Of course not!"
Lilith slapped her blushing cheeks, "The elves never casually choose a lover, and they would never casually call someone 'teacher'... but since I called you 'teacher', it will never change!"
"You don't have other thoughts? Like, maybe asking me to change outfits or something?"
"Teacher is just teacher!"
Lilith placed her hand over her chest, her expression serious, "I, Lilith, swear by the name of the Elf God that I will remain pure!"
Lyle nodded.
The strength of the oath was about the same as a priest swearing by the Holy Light.
Lilith secretly stuck out her tongue.
However...
The Elf God had been dead for several hundred years.
Laughing.
Calling Wilson, the tavern owner, Lyle grabbed a large spoon and stirred the wine.
Deacidified.
It greatly reduced the bitterness of the fruit wine and enhanced its fragrance.
He filled two bowls.
"The taste may not match the aging process, but it's drinkable."
The strong alcohol aroma, rich and full, without much impurity, the light purple liquid was clear.
Wilson took a bowl and sniffed it.
His mouth watered immediately.
Lilith stuck out her pink, moist tongue, took a sip, and then gulped it all down.
Lyle was dumbfounded.
"You... you must have been a starving ghost in your past life, huh? You're doomed!"
"Eh? What's wrong..."
Before Lilith could finish, she suddenly felt the world spin, and Lyle began to blur before her eyes.
Her pointed ears turned bright red, and it was pretty cute.
Seeing her swaying, Wilson was a bit surprised.
"This is top-shelf liquor!"
Lilith's alcohol tolerance was still poor.
Drunk, she went to familiar people, drooling on Lyle's clothes, her hands groping aimlessly.
Lyle had to push her head away.
Where did this idiot come from?
Was she really lacking in common sense or a true hero?
Even though it had been mixed, it was still distilled liquor! 50+ proof!
The elf girl was already slumped, about to fall to the ground like a little dog, whining and moaning.
Lyle had no choice but to scoop her up, embarrassed.
But she was light, and so soft.
Her flushed face was lovely.
Elves were known for their beauty and elegance. Aside from their iconic blue eyes, their golden hair was smooth, like the finest jade.
But elves weren't highly regarded in Iov.
Because their progress in the Ishu Card dungeons was far behind humans.
Wilson took a sip.
Immediately, a fiery, scorching sensation surged from his throat into his stomach, and then it began to feel hot and spicy.
The taste was incredibly smooth, with a fragrant fruity flavor.
"These barrels..."
From his expression, Leier immediately understood and smiled, saying, "The taste and flavor will improve even more after aging, but no worries, you can try selling it first, and we can discuss the price later."
Wilson swallowed nervously. "Mr. Leier... is it really true that you're a level-six brewer?"
His tone became noticeably more respectful.
"Level six is level six."
Leier smiled. "But this is my own improvement in the brewing process. It's different. I hope you understand that I'm not working for you. I'm seeking a partnership— you invest, and I provide the technique."
Fifty gold coins?
This was a technical improvement.
Profit sharing was the minimum requirement.
Wilson rubbed his hands together. "I understand, but Mr. Leier, have you brewed at any other tavern before?"
"Don't worry, I only brew for my people..."
Leier fell silent for a moment. "I've only let a few members of the Moonlit Bloom Adventurer Group taste it, but the brewing process, only I know."
"Mr. Leier, you're so skilled. Why haven't I heard of you in the brewing industry?" Wilson asked.
Leier smiled lightly. "That's not your concern."
Because I never planned on leaving Moonlit Bloom.
Of course, I had no need to keep up with the industry's trends either.
Perhaps in this world of Iophe, I can shine in a way other than as a scholar?
I just can't accept it... If only I could see the scholar's textbooks...
"Alright, I'll drop this... I'll take her back and come see you in a couple of days."
He reached out and gently tapped the elf girl's cheek. "Hey! Where do you live?"
"Mm... I want a hug..."
Leier picked her up.
Wilson eagerly saw them to the door.
He only had one thought now.
Getting in with Leier!
After being immersed in this for over twenty years, Wilson clearly knew how valuable Leier's skills were.
Back at the backyard, he glanced at the low-temperature furnace.
Still, he didn't choose to tamper with it.
Maybe Mr. Leier left it deliberately.
He knew what was most important.
However... there were so many taverns in Iophe.
If the new wine is released, it's best to spend money to get someone to try it for free first. Those popular adventurer groups have huge followings, and if they approve, it will spread fast.
That priest yesterday... He seemed to say Leier was from Moonlit Bloom?
Then I'll make sure to sell it well for Mr. Leier.
Find Moonlit Bloom and send them some money.
Wilson proudly gave himself a mental pat on the back.
