Taijutsu and Suiton are my current strengths.
"Although I've laid the foundation for Genjutsu and improved my chakra control, Genjutsu isn't my specialty. The next step should probably be to focus more on Doton..."
Jingyi secretly planned.
The reward of Genjutsu was completely unexpected and wasn't part of his original plan.
Or perhaps it's more important to master another escape technique.
Although Suiton is powerful, it has certain geographical limitations.
Doton still needs to be mastered.
Of course
Another important reason is this:
To be promoted to Jōnin, mastering at least two nature transformations is a requirement. Otherwise, even with enough merit, Jingyi could only be promoted as a Tokubetsu Jōnin.
To establish himself in Konoha, just being "special" isn't enough.
Jingyi stood at the entrance.
The Kanda family house was not small, but few people lived there. His parents died during the Second Great Ninja War, and his grandmother had passed away a few years ago.
However
There were still some "treasures" left in the house
A few books passed down by his grandmother.
The Senju clan had been generous. Whenever a member married outside the clan, they were often given items as part of a dowry. She had brought some scrolls from the Senju with her.
His predecessor hadn't cared much for them.
But
Jingyi felt there might be something useful among them.
He searched carefully.
Sure enough!
One of the scrolls contained something special
Some notes on Senju Tobirama's kenjutsu. Though it was only a copied version and didn't form a full set of techniques, it outlined the framework of a complete sword style.
Konoha-ryū Kenjutsu!
"This book is truly precious," Jingyi thought.
His grandmother hadn't chosen a ninjutsu scroll, but this book proof of her wisdom.
If a descendant had the right insight, a complete sword style could be derived from this. Unfortunately, his father lacked such insight and never uncovered its secrets.
Though he had learned some sword techniques, they were shallow and would not be passed down through his father's generation.
Jingyi thought for a moment and put the book away.
He would read it carefully that night.
The rest of the books weren't ninjutsu scrolls or secret techniques. They were ordinary records of family history. But compared to the swordsmanship notes, the family history books had clearly been read many more times.
Alright, time to train.
After resting, Jingyi had fully recovered.
He went to the courtyard.
The next moment, he performed the seals
"Kenjutsu is something that should be practiced by the original body, right?"
"If I want to train, I'll let you handle the sword practice."
Jingyi smiled.
The clone was speechless.
Sure enough...
When a shadow clone is summoned, it's never good news.
Let's practice, then.
The next day.
Jingyi arrived at the academy full of energy.
Today, he could clearly feel the strength of his Senju bloodline.
Not just in taijutsu
Despite having his clone and original body train at high intensity yesterday, he felt completely refreshed. No fatigue whatsoever.
But then there was Obito.
When Jingyi i got to class, he couldn't help but laugh.
Obito arrived covered in dirt.
He looked like he had sprinted the whole way, burning through most of his chakra. Now he was panting heavily, totally out of breath.
"Sensei! I-I'm not late!" Obito panted.
He'd run the whole way without stopping, terrified of being late. His physical strength and body coordination were poor to begin with, and now his chakra was nearly depleted.
"I said yesterday, you'd be the first to demonstrate the combined use of the Clone Technique and the Transformation Technique."
Jingyi stood at the podium with a smile.
"What?"
Obito froze, then visibly slumped.
He had forgotten.
Or maybe he'd just said it on impulse.
Or maybe...
He should've skipped ramen with Rin yesterday.
He took a deep breath...
And bravely stepped up.
He quickly formed hand seals. Compared to Naruto, Obito had better chakra control, he didn't have the Nine-Tails messing up his flow, but still...
His chakra control was terrible.
Soon
Chakra overflowed, and a copy of Jingyii appeared sloppily beside him, lying flat on the ground.
"It looks... exactly like me," Jingyi thought.
Obito grimaced.
He didn't feel embarrassed, just anxious that Jingyi might punish him again.
This teacher...
He's kind, but his standards are razor-sharp.
"You've got a large chakra reserve, and decent talent in ninjutsu and shuriken. But your taijutsu and chakra control are major weaknesses. You'll need to train harder otherwise, it'll cost you on the battlefield."
Jingyi advised.
Obito bowed deeply. "Thank you, Sensei!"
Other teachers would've just sighed or given up.
But Kanda-sensei didn't look down on him instead, he pointed out specific areas to improve. That alone cleared a lot of the dark clouds in Obito's mind.
"Tree climbing and water walking, you need to practice these."
Jingyi added.
"Tree climbing? Water walking?"
The class looked puzzled.
Even Iruka.
They were from civilian families, this kind of training wasn't usually taught until after graduation.
"You use chakra to stick to the soles of your feet either to walk on walls or tread on water."
Keiichi explained.
"My dad mentioned that once..."
"Have you practiced it?"
Obito asked.
"No. I just did it without practice," Kurenai said.
Damn.
Talented people are seriously annoying.
Obito grumbled inwardly.
"Sensei, can you explain how to do it?"
"Sure."
Jingyi gave a clear explanation of how to climb trees and walk on water.
This wasn't some big secret.
But
Knowledge still has barriers. Without someone to explain, civilians just wouldn't know where to start.
He hoped by sharing it now, the civilian kids could get a head start. On the battlefield, it could mean the difference between life and death.
Of course
The Third Hokage might have preferred that this be saved for team training...
But in wartime, who has the luxury to wait for a Jōnin-sensei?
"Practice it when you can. Alright, next up..."
Jingyi called the next student forward.
Except for Obito, most students had decent chakra control and could combine the clone and transformation techniques with little trouble. Later, he increased the difficulty by asking for more clones.
This was harder.
But even Obito bounced back. Although his clones were a bit wonky, it was clear now he just needed more chakra recovery time.
Soon
The class was over.
"That was easy."
Jingyi enjoyed himself.
Compared to the rowdy students from his previous life, teaching ninja kids was a breeze. At worst, they showed up late or left early.
Besides
When he took over, half the students had already left early anyway.
Back in the office.
Jingyi glanced at his system panel.
[Lecture topics completed: Transformation Technique, Combined Use of Clone and Transformation, Tree Climbing, Water Walking.]
[Evaluation: Excellent.]
[Reward: Chakra Perception.]
Chakra perception?
Jingyi looked around, then activated it with a thought.
He pressed his fingers to the ground and within moments, he could sense everything in the vicinity through chakra flow.
"This really is that technique!"
