(Jack carefully cracks the door open, scanning the surroundings. Meanwhile, Roy grabs a knife and a rod, preparing himself. The moment Jack signals that it's safe, they both step out and start descending.)
(The 10th floor isn't too difficult to navigate, but as they reach the 9th floor, they spot a zombie standing on the stairs—fortunately, with its back turned toward them.)
(Roy reacts swiftly, pushing the zombie down the staircase. It tumbles down, crashing through the railing and falling all the way from the 9th floor.)
Jack: (whispers, smirking) "I think I brought the right guy. You're not gonna let us die, are you?"
Roy: (whispers, with confidence) "You can trust me."
(They continue moving cautiously, using the shadows to avoid detection. Step by step, they make it down to Jack's apartment, which is directly in front of the stairwell. The door is covered in blood, and the entire floor reeks of decay.)
(Jack slowly turns the handle, making sure not to make a sound, then pushes the door open just enough for them to slip inside.)
Roy: "That was a close call."
(They enter the kitchen, and Jack pulls out a large jar of gasoline. Since it's too heavy to carry, he begins pouring it into smaller bottles.)
Roy: "Do you have a power bank?"
Jack: "Yeah, it's in the drawer inside that room."
Roy: "Okay, thanks." (He heads into the room, finds the power bank, and picks it up.)
Roy: "Hey, give me your phone too. I'll charge it for you."
Jack: "Oh, it broke while I was running. Just charge yours."
Roy: "Alright." (He plugs in his phone, and as it switches on, a notification pops up.)
Notification: "The army will soon bomb the city. Please try to reach the military camp—only areas within a 1 km radius will be safe. You have 2 days."
(Roy's eyes widen in shock. He rushes back to tell Jack, but the moment he steps out, his heart stops.)
Roy: (under his breath) "Oh, shit..."
(The door hadn't been properly closed, and now, a zombie stands just in front of it. Since the door isn't locked, closing it is no longer an option. His body tenses as he slowly backs away.)
