Chapter 3 - Peti's Path to Heroism

Lily stood over Peti's unconscious form, the crackling of residual electricity the only sound breaking the silence. Suddenly, the distant whir of helicopters and the approach of emergency vehicles filled the air. The heroes of Neon City had arrived, summoned by the chaos of the battle.Several heroes, clad in various costumes and armor, quickly surrounded Peti, their expressions a mix of admiration and concern as they looked at Lily.

"You did it, Lily," said Atlas, a towering figure known for his immense strength.

"Let's make sure he can't hurt anyone else". Said lily tiredly and exhausted

With Peti securely restrained in special cuffs designed to neutralize his teleportation powers, the heroes loaded him into a heavily armored transport vehicle. The convoy, escorted by police cars and other heroes, made its way to the maximum-security villain cell facility on the outskirts of the city.At the facility, Peti was placed in a reinforced cell, his powers further suppressed by a dampening field. He sat on the cold, metallic bench, his eyes flickering with annoyance but also hate for Lily's newfound strength.Outside the cell, Lily and the other heroes conferred with the police and security personnel. Chief Inspector Harris, a grizzled veteran of the force, approached them.

"We need to get some answers out of him," Harris said, his voice gravelly. "He's robbed the National bank and we don't know how to get back that many money they stole

"Lily nodded, stepping forward.

"I'll talk to him."

She entered the dimly lit interrogation room, facing Peti through a thick glass partition.

He looked up, a smirk playing on his lips despite his situation.

"Come to play?" he sneered.

Lily's eyes narrowed. "No I'm here to to get information out of you! You tell me or you get more year in the cell you already gonna have"

Peti smirk and nonchalant about it.

"Do you think I care? My boss or his group gonna come and save me from this place filled with disgusting heroes who follow the rules of the government and follow their words like it mean anything. Disgusting!

She laughs sarcastically and grins at Peti while looking ahead. "Well, I don't exactly love the government, but I do love using my abilities to help people. It's thanks to them that I can do so."

She sighs and turns to Peti, speaking seriously. "But let's be real, you can't exactly blame me for agreeing, can you? They give me free medicine care, free traveling with golden vip card + I got 2x more money then people do in factories, by accepting a job such as stopping you right. The heroes got paid what's every quest. And of course we have the hero base, free food whatever you want you can eat, gym and much more in it.

Peti sighs clearly not seems to like the heroes life. "Seems all of you got spoiled huh?

Lily roll her eyes."You're such a pessimist. Lighten up a bit, would you?"

Peti is get frustrated every second. Shut up bitch!

"Feisty as always, huh? Well, I've learned to deal with it." She ruffles his hair, trying to get a reaction out of Peti

Peti look up at her with his hands still being handcuffed and annoyed as hell.

"Stop or I swear...!" Peti stopped himself he can'tt come up with a word.

Lily look at Peti with a teasing smile.

"Or what? You're behind the cell idiot."

Peti groans. "I hate you"

Lily smirk. I feel the same as well!

Then Peti got Sirous.

People like me... we have no choice but to fight for our survival. The world doesn't care about us. It's survival of the fittest, Robbing banks and doing everything illegal for ourselves.

"And you think that justifies all the pain you've caused?" Lily asked, her voice filled with both curiosity and annoyance.

Peti's expression darkened. "You wouldn't get it. You're one of the 'good guys.' Always having it easy, always getting the support and praise. But people like me... we have to take what we can, however we can.

"Lily leaned forward, her eyes intense. "There's always a choice, Peti. You chose to hurt people instead of seeking help or trying to change things for the better. And now, you're going to face the consequences!"

Peti remained silent, his eyes avoiding Lily's gaze.

Chief Inspector Harris stepped in, taking Lily's place. "We're going to find out everything, Peti. Who you're working with, what your plans are. You can make it easier on yourself by cooperating."

Peti grins as he sees him and laugh mockerly. "Oh please you ever could get out a word out of me. You have no rights to hit me!

Harris eyes are clear with annoyance. "Enough Peti! We can if you are stubborn and don't tell us everything!"

They leave Peti alone in a room with a cooler.

The temperature in the room are drop to -20C°. Then they continue but Peti Is using a method called Wim Hof method. He followed his breathing techniques. They continue until minus 50-60 and then Peti speak up in a shaky and slow motion as he feels he can't continue the method. "I tell everything"

his body shakes and his teeth are touching echother each second by the cold. They do back the temperature to a room temperature.

Peti Tell everything he knows but he still stubborn about telling where's the villain base. The heroes let that slide.

Several months had passed since the epic battle between Lily and Peti. Neon City enjoyed a period of peace thanks to its heroes' efforts. Peti remained in a maximum-security luxury cell, equipped with all the amenities, but his powers were still suppressed. Despite their efforts, the authorities hadn't managed to extract much useful information from him.

One day, Lily received an unexpected summons to the city's government headquarters. Entering the grand building, she felt a mixture of curiosity and apprehension. She was ushered into a conference room where several high-ranking officials and members of the Hero Council were gathered.

"Thank you for coming, Lily," said Mayor Thompson, a distinguished figure who had always supported the city's heroes. "We have a matter of great importance to discuss with you."

Lily nodded, taking a seat. "What's this about?"

Director Lang, head of the Hero Council, spoke up. "We've been closely monitoring Peti's behavior over the past few months. While he remains defiant and uncooperative, we believe he might benefit from a different approach."

Lily raised an eyebrow. "And you think I can get through to him?"

Mayor Thompson leaned forward. "Yes. We want you to oversee his potential rehabilitation and, if possible, coax him into cooperating. We need his knowledge to dismantle other villainous networks."

Director Lang continued, "We know this is a significant request, but you have shown great resilience and empathy. If anyone can handle Peti, it's you."

Lily took a deep breath, contemplating the gravity of the proposal. She knew this would be a monumental challenge, but she also understood the potential impact it could have.

"Alright," Lily said finally. "I'll do it. I'll work with Peti, but under strict conditions and constant monitoring."

Lily entered the high-security facility where Peti's luxury cell was located. The cell was furnished with modern comforts: a plush bed, entertainment systems, and even a private gym. Yet, Peti remained as defiant as ever, lounging on his bed with a scowl on his face.

"Back so soon, hero?" Peti sneered as Lily entered. "Can't get enough of me, huh?"

Lily ignored the jab, standing tall. "Peti, I'm here because the city needs your help. You have information that could save lives and prevent future attacks."

Peti laughed, a cold, hollow sound. "And why would I care about that? You think you can sweet-talk me into playing nice?"

Lily met his gaze, unflinching. "I'm not here to sweet-talk you. I'm here to give you a chance. You can either help us and possibly earn some leniency, or you can rot in here indefinitely. The choice is yours."

Peti rolled his eyes, leaning back on his bed. "I like it here. No reason to go out there and risk my neck."

Frustration bubbled up in Lily, but she kept her composure. "This isn't about you, Peti. This is about the countless innocent people who could suffer if we don't stop these villains."

Peti's eyes flashed with irritation. "Spare me the hero speech. I've heard it all before."

Lily sighed, knowing this would be a long battle. "I'll be back tomorrow. Think about what I said."

Days turned into weeks. Each day, Lily visited Peti, enduring his taunts and insults. She tried different approaches: reasoning, empathy, and even moments of tough love. Peti remained stubborn, relishing in his defiance.

One day, as Lily entered the cell, Peti glared at her. "Why do you keep coming back? Do you enjoy being humiliated?"

Lily's eyes narrowed. "I'm not here for you, Peti. I'm here because it's my duty to protect this city. Whether you help or not, I'll keep fighting."

Peti's scowl deepened. "You're wasting your time."

Lily stepped closer, her voice firm. "Maybe I am. But I'll keep trying because giving up isn't an option for me."

Peti looked away, his expression unreadable. Lily turned to leave but paused at the door. "I'll see you tomorrow."

The cycle continued, but slowly, cracks began to appear in Peti's defiant facade. He still hurled insults and remained uncooperative, but Lily noticed moments of hesitation, fleeting glimpses of something deeper beneath his stubborn exterior.

evening, as Lily prepared to leave, Peti spoke up, his voice low. "Why do you care so much?"

Lily turned, surprised by the question. "Because I believe everyone has the potential to change. Even you."

Peti scoffed but didn't say anything more. As Lily left, she felt a glimmer of hope. The road ahead was long and fraught with challenges, but she was determined to break through Peti's defenses and uncover the humanity hidOneden beneath his hardened exterior. Florida needed every ally it could get, and Lily was ready to fight for even the most unlikely one.

Week passed with Lily's daily visits to Peti, each encountering a test of patience and perseverance. Slowly, Lily's unwavering dedication began to wear down Peti's defenses. Although he remained rude and dismissive, he occasionally offered glimpses of useful information, albeit reluctantly.

One day, Lily was called to a meeting at the Hero Council headquarters. As she entered the room, she found Mayor Thompson, Director Lang, and several high-ranking officials waiting for her."We have a new assignment for you, Lily," Director Lang began. "We need you and Peti to investigate a series of black markets operating in Florida. These markets are suspected of supplying dangerous materials to various villainous groups."

Lily's eyes widened in surprise. "You want me to take Peti out of the city? Are you sure that's wise?"

Mayor Thompson nodded. "We believe Peti's knowledge and connections could be invaluable. Of course, there will be strict measures in place to ensure he doesn't escape or cause trouble."Lily took a deep breath, weighing the risks.

"Alright, I'll do it. But I need full control over the operation and constant surveillance on Peti."

"Agreed," Director Lang said. "You'll leave tomorrow."The next morning, Lily and Peti boarded a private jet bound for Florida.

Peti, shackled and monitored by high-tech restraints, looked out the window with a mix of annoyance and curiosity. "This better be worth it," he muttered.

Lily glanced at him. "Just remember, Peti, this is your chance to prove you can be useful. Don't waste it."

Peti smirked but didn't reply.

Upon arriving in Florida, Lily and Peti were taken to a secure safehouse. From there, they began their investigation, scouring the city for any leads on the black markets. They started with known criminal hotspots, relying on Peti's knowledge of the underworld.Their first stop was a dilapidated warehouse on the outskirts of the city. Lily, using her flight and laser vision, scouted the area while Peti, under heavy guard, pointed out potential entry points.

"There," Peti said, nodding toward a concealed side entrance.

"That's where they usually smuggle goods in and out."Lily nodded. "Let's move." They entered the warehouse, finding it bustling with activity. Tables were lined with various illegal items, from weapons to rare, dangerous artifacts.

Lily's eyes narrowed as she spotted several familiar faces from Florida criminal scene.

"Stay close," she whispered to Peti, her hand crackling with electric energy as a warning.

Peti rolled his eyes but complied. As they moved through the crowded space, Peti's presence drew a few curious and hostile glances. One burly man approached them, his expression wary.

"What are you doing here, Peti?"

"Thought you were out of the game," the man growled.

Peti shrugged nonchalantly. "Just checking things out. Heard there were some interesting items up for grabs."

Lily stayed silent, letting Peti handle the conversation. They needed to gather as much information as possible without raising suspicion.

The man grunted. "Well, keep your nose clean. We don't want any trouble."

Peti and Lily head back to the meeting room. Lily reported the black mall to other heroes. The heroes do their job instead of them.
