[ Main Character's POV ]
It's past noon, near sunset.
We're marching on a road; Trees and plants are very rich. The birds chirps, the wind howls. You can literally smell the freshness of the place. For it is only a peace in terms of senses.
We're on the era where royalties are the rulers. And based on our history, we're just 1000 years past from the creation of the earth.
Powers still do exist.
We received a report from our king in a form of scroll. "Go save the village from the north, it is reported that they are attacked by the bandits. Signed by the king"
It is also rumored that a Great Scroll of Soul is in that village.
We are dispatched in a composition of a trio. A knight, a horsed knight, and a swordsman. We're the Heroes from our kingdom. The smallest kingdom in the earth.
I am the knight, wearing a metal armor with no helmets on. I am known as The Hero of Souls
Depite being the smallest kingdom, we are also considered the strongest kingdom. Atleast because of the great mage living here.
While marching to our mission, I started to feel, something strange. An uneasiness. I don't know if I wanted to rush forward, or to step back from the mission.
I don't know where this uneasiness came from, but it feels like I need to do something.
The Horsed Knight looked at me while riding his walking horse, holding the leash with both of his hands. He seemed to noticed the change of my emotion
"Hey Seishin? Is there something wrong?"
There's something strange on the sun. I looked at the sun for about 3 seconds, trying to look what's wrong
"I don't know, there's something strange." I looked at him, "You think, this mission is something we should continue?" I asked him.
The horsed knight looked straight on the roadway, "As if we have a choice, we must at least know what's the real situation." His face has no trace of doubts "Right?" he asked.
I looked up ahead, "You're right, but I feel a very negative energy around us."
The Horsed Knight slightly lifted his eyebrows, "This mission is a good opportunity." his eyes looked slightly at me. "Seishin, there's a rumor that a great scroll is there" He smiled, "You needed that don't you?"
The swordsman, a member of our party, grinned while walking. "What's more is, they say it's the scroll of souls."
Apparently, he's right. The Great scroll of souls is something I should acquire, for it is completely related to my power. The power of souls.
[ There are certain scrolls that is scattered along the world. It haven't been discorvered yet how many are they. With the research of the Great Mage, he found out that there are 4 Great Scrolls. The most powerful scrolls that there can be. One of them is the Great Scroll of Souls. ]
"Then why am I feeling bad about this?" I asked them.
"Well, don't you often feel strange when someone died?" The swordsman asked.
The Horsed Knight second that statement, "Yeah Seishin, did someone die?"
Those words echoed inside my brain, many many times. A sudden impact to my emotion entered. A snap of both sadness and fear. I just remembered, the negativity is the effect of someone losing hope.
"That village.." I dashed and run forward. "We should hurry!"
"Oii!" The horse started running towards, passing ahead of me. "Just follow up! I'll make the way." His eyes remain confident with no trace of worries
My name is Seishin Sunji, the Hero of souls. And I am born with a power connected to the souls. So basically, I can feel when someone is struggling, possibly like now. So, the strange feelings possibly come from someone in that village. At least, a dying person.
"What happened Seishin?" The swordsman asked me without a trace of fright
He followed my speed closely, remaining at my back . His face is also unfazed. My...I can fully understand that, I am the only one who's feeling these emotions.
"Someone is dying!" I shouted with anger. My body is trembling, my brows can't help but squint, my eyes is heavy. The worries are coursing through my veins.
Well, I hate this feeling, who will love this?
A scream echoes enters my mind, and some whispers of I don't know who.
"Help... Have mercy.." Those are the last words of someone's soul.
My head starts to feel heavy, and my mood starts to gloom.
"They're gonna have a bad time. Ah..." I spoken out of whim. Well, I'm referring to those who caused this trouble.
As I've said, I can feel strong emotions of soul. I can feel their grief if it is strong enough. As strong as the death. I want t let them feel my pain!
Why do I need to always encounter this? This specific question is the main reason I wanted to deal with this thing already.
No matter what the cost, I must end this as soon as possible.
[The Road to the village]
Along the way, a group of thugs goes down from the trees and cornered us.
"A jackpot!", said by some thug. We stopped from running as they blocked our path. Looking at the back, they already surrounded us.
"Such a cheap trick, they think they can stop us huh?" I whispered to myself.
The swordsman doesn't seem to care on what I'm whispering about.
Ironically, I can feel soul's presence, but only if I focused enough. Well, sorry Master, my bad.
So.. my power? No convenience as detector.
"Why haven't you detected them?" The swordsman holds the handle of the sword from the sheath on his waist.
By the way, that very swordsman, is my Master. Master in every possible way. I have high respect on him.
He looked directly on the eyes of the thugs in front of him. "Stand aside!"
The thugs don't move a bit, they're pretty confident. I cannot feel any fears in their soul.
I boosted my aura to try and fear them. But that only attracts their attention instead of scaring them. The thugs start chattering as I catch their attention. They looked at me.
"Isn't he the hero?"
"The hero? What hero?" The faces of thugs are filled with smiles, yet full of violence.
"The one beside the swordsman."
"The Hero of souls" Everyone gets excited upon hearing that I am the hero of souls.
A giant man from the back walks in front. Every footstep echoed around the place.
"The infamous, Hero of Souls." He created a big smile in his face with his teeth exposed. Everyone started to clasp and clang their weapons nonstop. I bet he is the leader.
He has a long hair; it doesn't suit him well. His eyes are full of ego, and his breath is not that pleasant.
It smells bad. I mean, he's not that close, yet I can smell it! That's unpleasant, right?
I draw out my sword from the sheath using my right hand as I walk slowly towards the leader.
"You have some guts to block us." I told them angrily
I can see someone's soul as a physical form. With that, I can examine its nature. That man has a soul full of spikes, colored yellow and dark.
[ For the idea, A soul is like a ball of light. There are different types of shades, texture, color, intensity, saturation, and even the shape itself.]
The wind blows to the direction of the east, strong enough to shake the trees. I aimed my sword to the neck of the leader.
I spoken with terror, "I don't like you guys, stand aside."
The whole group of thugs laughs, for about 10 second, continuous.
The leader lifted his chin up and started laughing very loud. Enough to make the cats panic.
"Ha ha ha ha! You have no village to save to anymore."
"No village?" Upon hearing those words, I've squinted my eyebrows harder subconsciously. It's pissing me off.
"There's no reason fo-" his statement has been interrupted
In a flash of light, I slashed him in the chest with my sword full of white glow. He instantly lose his consciousness.
I looked at the back where the thugs are with a killer aura, "What do you guys mean, no more village to save?"
My Master chuckles, "He's angry again~."
A five second of silence after I said the phrase.
"RAHHH!!!!" A battle shout emits from the thugs and started to attack us.
Well, they're tough huh? Even my killer aura don't affect them. Instead, it caused them to uprise their battle aura.
The sword that I held instantly filled with white energy from me. I place my sword in front of my face in an upright position. Preparing for a strike. "Master, crouch." The swordsman immediately crouched.
I extend my foot forward, placed the sword beside my shoulder in sidewards position. I twist my body, and created a spiral motion. That slash creates a white light shockwave, hitting all of them in an instant.
Upon hitting them, they go unconscious.
My master stands up after they all fall on the ground. He pats out the dirt out of his outfit.
"I think that settles it, let's hurry there." He said calmly yet lively.
Successfully, I've cut down the spikes of their soul. Hopefully they become a better person.
[Spikes on soul defines how prickly are they to soft things.]
The sky turns black, as the wind gets angry. The sun slowly turns black, leaving a halo of light. The birds started to fly all at once.
"Something is going on." I looked at the sky and saw the eclipse. "This is no ordinary eclipse."
Master looked at the sky. "An eclipse.."
As I looked at the eclipse, I saw something, strange.. A soul, pure souls are fighting, the light and the dark.
"Seishin, what do you see?" master said.
I looked carefully to it, "Souls, pure souls". Is this where my uneasiness came from? I often see pure souls on ants. But this one, is strong. Stronger than a human soul. This is no mere ants!
"That's bad, let's inform the great mage." Master said.
"How about the village?"
"Leave it to Tenchi, he can handle that" He started running back to the palace.
"Okay." I follow his back to the palace, where the great mage is. Tenchi is the horsed knight. The swordsman is my master, his name is Zhuren.
I looked at the sky. A star like lights begin to fall to the ground, like a falling star.
"Master? Isn't the sky romantic?" Somehow, this eclipse somehow soothes my soul. The heaviness worn off.
"We have no time for jokes, just keep running." His speed increases. So I keep up with his speed.
A loud noise of a horse march approached from the back. A voice from far apart echoed to us "Seishin! Zhuren!"
My master keeps looking in front, "Don't stop"
I glanced at Tenchi's direction. I mean, why not?
"Seishin, he has a horse, he can reach us." Master calmly advised me.
I shouted to reach Tenchi, "Tenchi!! What is it?". I may be stubborn, but it won't affect my speed.
Tenchi reached our position. He adjusts his speed the same to mine. "Bad news, I haven't reached the village."
Now, his face is pretty worried. Like he saw something bad.
"Too scared to go alone?" I asked. I looked at him while keeping the pace of my speed. "What's the problem?"
"[Sigh] Long story. To keep it short, some dark forces interfere."
"Dark forces.. So, you really get scared?" I faced my head to front. Enough for Tenchi to see my smile. "You saw some ghosts?"
He simply shakes his head; his facing is like I give up on talking to this guy.
A dark orb falls from the sky. A big orb is falling in the direction ahead of us. Above to our location, dropping down. One landed in front of me, resulted to a big blast.
I knocked back hard, and landed on my back. Smokes covered my vision.
I've been separated to our party
"Seishin!" Tenchi shouted and stopped to face on my direction.
Master blocks Tenchi's view, "Don't follow! Report to the Great Mage" Master looked unto my direction, without the trace of worries in his face. Instead, he's very calm.
Tenchi nods with a worry on his face and started to run to the palace direction again.
Slowly, I stand up. Right now, there is a black human figure standing up, the same place where the black orb drops.
My master runs toward that figure, "Seishin! Run!". He draws out his sword, jumps really high and attempted to do a downward slash to it.
The black figure spoke, "Foolish." The figure blocks using its hand, causing a great impact.
Master blasted out. He falls to the ground with his back. The fear inside me turned intense, as it is now imbued with anger
"Master!" I shouted out of worry.
I unsheathed my sword and let it glow white. I jumped and dashed toward the black figure. Near enough, I performed a horizontal slash, successfully hitting him.
I landed on my foot and immediately dashed back, stance a defensive position.
The black figure reacted to the slash. It looked at his chest, which has a white glowing slash on it, a wound perhaps.
For some reason, some black smokes coming from him are being absorbed by me. Continuously.
"You futile." He faced to my direction. "You must be calmed down!"
He morphs his hands into some kind of blade and attempted to slash me.
I dodged the attack and started to run on the opposite direction. "Master! leave this to me!"
Master started to stand up. He looked at my direction and shouted, "Be careful! Let us reunite later." He follows Tenchi's path, and leaves me behind.
It's hard to be a Hero, especially when you're a coward.
I was the coward!
I was born like this, I have no choice
I must sacrifice for others, leaving behind myself!
As I'm running, the black figure emits a very strong aura as it chases me. The wound on him doesn't seem to heal. The smoke continuously comes out of his body and being absorbed by me.
My body is trembling from head to toe, my breathing becomes heavy, my head started to become light, but my energy is rapidly increasing. Is he, possessing me?
"What should I do, how can I escape?" I have so many questions about these events, but survival takes first.
I still wanted to live!
The black figure catches up with me, and reached the grass field beside a small village. It has no trees around it. I can't hear anything other than my footsteps.
He has a dark orb in his hands with a strong compressed aura around it. If that thing hit me, I might die. NO WAY I WILL LET IT
I stopped and rolled to the side. He faced his hands to where my position originally is, making a strong blast to it.
Luckily I anticipated and dodged it. In my crouch position, I dashed to the side with my sword on sidewards, towards the black figure. I put all of my energy with my sword.
My sword is now in bright light. A blinding one
I landed the second slash!
Another wound has formed to him. A big one! The smoke is being absorbed more rapidly.
Yet, I didn't notice.
He is looking at me all the time. It's a trap!
His legs are coated with strong aura along with his foot. I felt the sensation of death as I looked at him. He twists his body. Bring his right foot up, where my head is below.
Crap, he's too fast! But I should say, he's a worthy opponent. I felt like the time has slowed down, but I can't move anything at all.
He landed an axe kick to my neck.
I've always feared killing someone, but I never really thought that I would fear death. It's my mistake on trying not to kill it.
My vision slowly fades, "I.. messed up..." I fall on the ground with my chest lie flat. It hurts. "Sorry Master, looks like this is the end.."
My vision becomes blank. The sound of the wind slowly fades. For I don't know the reason, my consciousness is still there.

...
…
Some voice of I don't know whispered on my ears. "Hey..."
Who? Oh.. I can't talk. I can't move any of my parts. I can't feel them
"Why did you fight?"
Huh? Who? I can't focus, my body feels very hot. Please let me rest for a while
"You're far too weak. You should at least back out." Heh.. Backout? That's not me. I love parties like that.
"You have your mission, and you must find it." Mission? Well, I'm dying.. I could care less
"Is that so?"
Woah, what's with that reaction?
"For now, I'll take your memories until you find that mission. "
What? What do you mean with "is that so" response? You can hear me? Can you read my mind?
"Find me, then I shall bring you back your memory."
How should I know? I don't even know your face or name?
"Then I shall give you my name"
You'll tell me your name, then you'll take away my memory? How convinient! How about you help me first?
"Even on slumber, you are still noisy. I will help you don't worry."
Oh, is that so? Am I that irresistible?
"[Sigh] You should remember this, my n a m e i s . . . . "
A flash of light covered my vision. My mind starts to calm down. I can't feel anything, am I flying?
I simply want to admire this peace..
My consciousness fades off.

Concept of the Day: SOUL!
Soul - It is a component of a living things. It's what makes the things live. It has five parts with different fuctions.
Inner Core: The energy source of the body to keep it functioning.
Outer Core: The storage of energy. It is what keeps the Inner Core lives in case
it is damaged.
Outer apperance: Shows the personality of the soul. It can be changed through
course of time and events
Link: The connection to the body. It guides the energy to a specific function of
body. For example the Digestion.
Aura: It is the excessive Energy that is else used to protect the soul and the
Physical body from energy ailments.
