Chapter 14 - Scales and Shackles

Location: The Subjugation Chamber, Valeheart Mobile Fortress – Eastern Territory

Kaela Drakwyn sat chained to a cold obsidian pillar, arms locked above her head by enchanted bindings inscribed with runes in the Old Draconic tongue. Each one shimmered faintly—sigils Lucien had designed himself.

Her body was covered in bruises and thin trails of smoke still curled off her bronze-toned skin. Even in defeat, she was a sight to behold—wild, primal, powerful. Her dragonblood fought against the magic with every breath. But she was still here.

Still caged.

Lucien watched her from his throne, lounging lazily, a goblet of black nectar in hand. The other four women had been separated—placed under observation. But Kaela? She was a special case.

She was the one who almost didn't lose.

Almost.

"Let me go," she snarled, yanking at the chains. "I'll rip your spine out and eat your heart."

Lucien chuckled. "You're adorable when you're delusional."

He stood.

The room dimmed. The wards pulsed red.

He approached slowly, letting his aura bleed into the air—dense, suffocating, intoxicating. Her breath caught halfway through another insult.

"You smell that?" he whispered, tilting her chin up with one finger. "That's your own body betraying you. That heat between your legs? That isn't fear."

Kaela bared her teeth. "I don't submit."

"Not yet."

He pressed two fingers against her abdomen, right above her womb—his system glowing faintly through her skin.

"And that," he whispered, "is exactly where I'll rewrite you."

Kaela shuddered.

She didn't want to—but her thighs twitched. Her back arched. Her lips parted just a little too long.

Lucien leaned in close, lips brushing her ear. "I'll make your instincts eat your pride alive. You'll scream my name before the night ends."

She growled low—but there was no fire behind it.

Only something deeper.

Doubt.

Meanwhile...

Kasumi stood alone in her chamber, eyes on the surveillance orb. Watching. Fingers curled. Breath caught. Her thighs pressed together as she watched Lucien touch Kaela like a master taming a beast.

She hated herself for the way it made her heart race.

Reina, arms crossed in another room, stared at her reflection. Her hands trembled. She hadn't shaken like this since her first battlefield kill.

Yuki was silent. She simply stared at the glowing neural feed Lucien left implanted in her psyche.

And Sora?

She watched everything. And whispered…

"…is this what submission feels like?"

Back in the chamber,

Kaela had stopped talking.

Lucien stood before her, one hand gripping her throat—not choking, but owning. His voice was velvet thunder.

"You're going to ask me to mark you."

Kaela's lips trembled.

"No."

But it wasn't defiance anymore.

It was fear.

Because she was already halfway gone.
