"Lord Danzo!!!"
"Lord…?"
"How is this possible?!"
The Root members present couldn't move,
but they witnessed everything with their own eyes—
the man they revered like a god, Lord Danzo,
pierced through by a ninja blade, now utterly unresponsive.
In that moment,
their beliefs collapsed like a ruined structure—shattered and in ruins!
Swish— Swish— Swish—
From outside the forest,
a swarm of dark silhouettes leapt through the air, arriving at the outskirts.
"Captain Yu, I'll cover the rear!!"
Uchiha Minami roared,
his heart already resolved to die.
The other Uchiha tried to voice their determination as well—
only to suddenly realize they were once again under the control of Yasaka-no-Magatama.
They couldn't squeeze out a single word.
Minami and the others' faces turned red with frustration,
wanting to shout something—
but their minds could not override the spiritual control.
"Noisy."
Yu muttered indifferently,
released his grip, left the blade behind,
and decisively led the team away.
He kept those men alive—
because they were still useful.
Before leaving, he manifested his Mangekyō Sharingan,
then glanced back toward the forest's edge.
The sound of footsteps surged like crashing waves.
A large number of Anbu had poured into the forest—
the vanguard of the Hokage's personal Anbu forces, answering only to Hiruzen Sarutobi.
"What happened here?"
One of the Anbu captains arrived at the outer edge of the forest,
facing a Root member,
and questioned in a low voice.
The Root member said nothing.
The Anbu captain's brows furrowed—
these Root members seemed very strange,
but he chose to lead his team deeper into the woods.
Just as all the Anbu entered the forest—
the Root members moved.
They simultaneously drew their ninja blades.
Their eyes flashed crimson, and the seal of Yasaka-no-Magatama spun.
Like puppets, they slashed at the nearest Anbu without hesitation.
"Aaaah!!!"
In an instant, half the Anbu were caught off guard, their screams echoing through the trees.
"Retreat from the forest!!"
The Anbu captain's eyes went wide,
staring at the wound in his abdomen where a ninja blade had pierced deep and blood was pouring out.
He kicked away a nearby Root member and bellowed in rage.
"Captain, all the Root members—
they're under someone's control!!"
"Then kill these bastards!!"
The Root members had no reaction to the curses of the Anbu.
They lunged at the reinforcements like madmen.
The Anbu couldn't take that kind of insult.
They didn't understand the cause,
but still drew their blades to fight back.
Everyone thought—
Take down these lunatic Root members first, then figure out the rest.
An intense battle broke out between the Anbu and Root.
BOOM—
Explosions from paper bombs,
the clashing of blades,
the shriek of kunai flying through the air—
like the notes of a chaotic symphony,
they echoed through the woods, delivering the final movement to this assassination.
---
At the entrance of the Uchiha compound—
Little Sasuke carried his schoolbag,
weaving anxiously through the streets.
Every time he heard an explosion,
he would stop, look around in confusion—
then continue running forward.
He felt as though
he were caught in the middle of a war.
Lost and helpless.
Until—
A familiar figure ran toward him through the street.
The heart that had been wandering aimlessly finally found something to hold on to.
"Mom!!"
Sasuke's eyes lit up.
He walked into the middle of the street, arms opening wide, ready to welcome his mother running toward him.
In the darkness, he seemed to see a beam of light.
As she sprinted through the street, Mikoto spotted little Sasuke.
She froze in place for a brief second—
her dazed eyes seemed to melt like thawing ice and snow, revealing an endless, tender warmth.
But she couldn't speak.
She couldn't even control her body.
"Mom… what's wrong with you?"
Sasuke sensed that something wasn't right.
Boom—
Mikoto, mid-charge, crashed into Sasuke.
The force of the collision knocked him hard into the ground, then into a nearby wall.
He hit it with a heavy thud, his head spinning,
his consciousness fading.
"Mom…"
Sasuke collapsed on the ground, eyes closing—and fainted.
Tears welled up at the corners of Mikoto's eyes.
But her beautiful, gentle face remained blank—expressionless.
She just kept running.
Running and running, toward the forest outside the Hidden Leaf Village.
Yet that heart, once long dead,
was quietly reignited by Sasuke's single word—
"Mom."
—-—
On a mountain ridge.
"Big bro… when are we leaving?"
Tamao asked weakly.
The other Uchihas had done a simple bandage job to stop the bleeding.
His injuries were stabilized,
but without a medical-nin,
infection and death were still a real risk.
Yu was just about to answer—
When text suddenly flashed in his mind:
[Side Quest]: Rescue Mission
[Condition]:
1. Rescue someone within the Uchiha clan compound.
[Mission Complete!]
[Reward]:
100 cubic meters of storage space.
Yu was a bit surprised—
and just then,
a figure appeared from behind the mountain—
Mikoto, running toward them.
Uchiha Minami and Uchiha Izumi instinctively drew their blades, but Yu raised a hand, signaling them to stand down.
When everyone got a clear look at who was approaching, they gasped in unison:
"The clan leader's wife?!"
"Lady Mikoto!!"
None of them had expected Mikoto Uchiha to survive the massacre.
They turned to Yu in disbelief,
wondering—was this also part of his plan?
Yu, unfazed, said calmly:
"Everyone's here. Let's go."
"Are we considered missing-nin now…?"
Izumi looked troubled as she glanced back at the Uchiha compound.
It had already become a battlefield—
flames and thick smoke billowing into the sky.
Other than the few of them who'd made it out—
the Uchiha were likely all dead.
The rest of the group looked equally grief-stricken, occasionally casting uneasy glances toward Mikoto.
Mikoto's mind was a complete blank.
She didn't know why she was here,
or how these few Uchihas had survived.
Suddenly, the sound of sobbing filled the air.
Yu looked up to see Uchiha Minami and several others crying uncontrollably.
Their civilian family members had been lost forever—
buried in the ruins of the Uchiha district.
Now that their thirst for revenge had been quenched, a tide of sorrow washed over them, threatening to drown them.
Eight Uchihas stabbed their blades into the ground, bowing deeply toward the direction of their clan—ninety degrees.
"Hahaha, damn, that felt good!"
Tamao laughed through blood-stained teeth.
"We finally get to leave this damn place!"
One of the Uchihas who had just burst into tears suddenly sucked his snot back in after hearing Tamayo's comment.
For a moment, the others didn't know how to react to this madman.
"..."
While everyone was still processing their grief and sorrow, Uchiha Yu focused his mind and began examining the reward from his completed mission.
The 100 cubic meters of storage space existed deep within his consciousness—
a place he could enter just by concentrating.
It was a bright space about 7.4 meters long, 5 meters wide, and 2.7 meters high.
Yu figured, with some tidying up,
he could probably turn this place into a neat little one-bedroom apartment.
The only thing he wasn't sure about—
could it store living people?
With that thought, he shoved all his scrolls into the space.
To his delight, he could freely move and rearrange them however he wanted.
Convenient.
He looked up at the massive full moon hanging in the night sky.
Yu stood overlooking the Hidden Leaf Village.
Across the mountain from them was the Hokage Rock.
Below, the maze of streets stretched out—
the village center still glowing with lights and bustling with life, radiating vitality.
In stark contrast,
the Uchiha district had become a battlefield—
as if the two were completely different worlds.
The battle in the forest was nearing its end.
This land—now without the Uchiha.
And somehow, it didn't seem to matter.
Yu observed the Uchihas.
Their emotions were gradually calming.
As he had expected, their Sharingan had significantly evolved—
several who had only awakened two tomoe had now reached three.
"Goodbye, Konoha."
Yu turned and left.
Uchiha Izumi looked at his back—
and for a moment, time seemed to rewind to the day they graduated,
their first mission.
That day, she stood at the village gate,
watching this gentle, kind young man leading their squad out on their first assignment. She'd been mesmerized then,
drawn to his quiet strength.
And now, she subconsciously followed him again.
Just like that day.
As if, with this compassionate captain,
no matter how far from the village,
they could survive any mission.
The other Uchihas followed one after another.
Only Mikoto was still being mentally controlled by Yu, trailing silently behind.
The moonlight was bright.
At the edge of the village,
Yu effortlessly deactivated the barrier.
With a step through the boundary—
they left Konoha.
At that moment, a heavy burden seemed to fall upon the shoulders of the nine Uchihas.
Deep in their hearts,
they had a premonition:
If they survived this journey—
they would return one day…
to raze Konoha to the ground.
Under the clear moonlight,
only Tamao was being carried on someone's back.
Eleven Uchihas became shadows in the dark—
beginning their life on the run, led by Uchiha Yu.
He took them northwest.
That path would lead them out of the Land of Fire and into the most chaotic region of the ninja world—
a buffer zone stitched together by small nations like the Land of Rain, Land of Birds, and Land of Grass.
The road ahead was guaranteed to be perilous.
Yu estimated they had until dawn. Before sunrise, Konoha would send squads to hunt them down.
Before dawn—they had to get as far away as possible.
Yu had long prepared an escape route—
a plan that only took a week to put into motion.
At the end of this road—
someone would be waiting for them.
