Lara Santos sat in her dimly lit office, papers spread like a war map across her desk. Her sharp eyes scanned the evidence Amara had sent. Bank transfers, ghost companies, property deeds in fake names. At the center of it all, a network tied to one man:
Ismael Gómez.
But there was more. Hidden in one of the encrypted files Santiago and Emma had risked their lives to steal, Lara found something terrifying—a blacklist.
On it: Santiago, Emma, the judge, and even little Israel.
"They were going to kill them," she whispered to herself.
She picked up the phone and called the judge directly. "You need to get them out. Now."
Back at headquarters…
The judge's face went pale as he read the decrypted files and listened to Lara's warning. "They went after a child," he said coldly.
He made one phone call. Just one. Everything changed.
By dawn, Santiago was packing bags. He looked at Amara, holding Israel close, her eyes already welling with tears.
"We're going where?" she asked.
"Out of the country. The judge arranged everything. New location, new names if we want. We leave tonight."
Emma arrived minutes later, escorted by two agents. She gave Santiago a nervous glance. "I was told I'm going too."
Santiago nodded. "We'll protect each other. Like always."
But none of them expected what came next.
Somewhere far away…
A large villa, hidden in the countryside of an unnamed European nation. One house. One key.
When they arrived, Amara stepped inside first. "Wait… this is for all of us?"
The agent nodded. "Safer to keep you in one secure location. No contact with the outside. Full surveillance. You'll be protected—but together."
Emma walked in quietly, avoiding Amara's eyes. Israel ran down the hall, already choosing a room.
Amara finally turned to Santiago. "So, we're all under one roof?"
He hesitated. "Just until we finish what we started."
She gave him a tight nod. "Let's hope it doesn't destroy what we've built."
Meanwhile, Lara Santos dug deeper. And she wasn't alone anymore. She formed a small, off-the-record team to keep the investigation alive back home.
What she found next chilled her.
There was a second network. One not run by Ismael… but above him.
The real threat hadn't revealed itself yet.
And Santiago would soon have to face more than just corruption.
